Great drive at a good price point. Runs quiet and fast.

This drive is a true 5 star. The fact that my first pick ended up being 5400 rpm was a real bummer and I dropped rating because of best buys misleading product description . I had already transfered my failing drive to the first one bought. From the very first boot if seemed sluggish so ran a utility that showed 5400 rpm. Wipped contents and returned to bb. Buyers beware not all hard drive product descriptions on best buy site shows rpm speed....if it does not show speed look elsewhere for speed. Don't assume a best buy 'desktop' hard drive description is 7200 rpm what you should always want which is what I did. Happy now but come on BB just post the facts.

I bought this hard drive to replace the one in my home video surveillance DVR. It was easy to install and has given excellent service.

Needed a new drive went looking for a 1T but this was almost the same price so why not get 3T. It seems to be just fine.

Purchased this for mass storage of movies for a Plex server. Has been in service and works just as you would expect it to.

I was really looking to purchase a larger drive when one of mine died, but they had this drive for $79 and I just could not pass it up (actually went back and got 2 more). But, this is a standard Western Digital drive. As with all new hard drives, the quality has been really bad the past few years. I have drives that have been running over 10 years still going strong, and every drive I have purchased in the past 2 have already that died. I expect this drive to last about 2 years (until right after the warranty period is over) and die a painful death. But, this is probably one of the best drives out there at the moment.. Sadly, Best Buy has decreased the store stock where they have less than a fourth of the drives they had just 2 years ago, only Western Digital in bare drives. Nothing Seagate, Toshiba, Hitachi, etc... Looks like I will have to start shopping elsewhere since Best Buy is looking like they are closing up their retail stores. I couldn't even find a phone case to fit my phone there and had to get one at Wally World.

Purchased this Hard Drive for my new computer build, and very happy. Have not had any problems with the drive at all.

Standard set up for a hard drive. Tons of storage space and quick access speeds. Thus far, I've had no issues with it.

Could not even begin to tell you how easy it was to install. High recommend.

I bought this to replace a failing Seagate 3GB drive. This one is noticeably quieter and the read time is good.

The Western Digital 3 TB drive offers plenty of storage and has been a solid performing drive so far. I'm currently using this as an external drive for copying and backing up files from multiple computers (Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2). For traditional platter drives, Western Digital is usually the way to go!

I wish that Best Buy would actually label these Western Digitals with their actual product color IE: WD Black: Fastest of the bunch, built for performance WD Blue: Middle of the road in terms of speed and performance WD Green: Energy saver+ slowest in seek times and performance WD Red: Built for NAS use only so not applicable here This drive is the WD Green which I had no way of knowing until I got the product home and unboxed it. I would also like Best Buy to become more competitive on pricing, not labeling what this drive truly is doesn't allow the consumer to actually see if they are getting a value or paying the same price for what a different series drive would go for elsewhere. I understand the convenience factor of being able to walk into a store and pick the product up off the shelf but there are a lot of eTailers out there that offer next day delivery for practically the price of tax of the item so that's not really a selling point. All in all, the drive works as intended I just feel at the price that I paid it should've at least been a Blue series drive.

This drive performs well as a back-up and media storage drive - it is not very fast so indexing is recommended, and i would only use it for storage - not program files or games.

currently being used as an with an external enclosure. works well. good price. so far has not failed.

WD - Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive for Desktops have always performed great for me

I have filled all the space on my media server and this was a fantastic add on to extend my space.

Was an excellent storage and performance boost for an inexpensive computer. Combined with a memory upgrade, the machine functions now like a unit twice the price but without the pricetag. Drive has been reliable with daily use.

I do a lot of photography and artwork, so I am eliminating some of my smaller drives and using the larger 3tb drive! I have another to hold my music and movie files!

Great price on sale. Was looking to buy a smaller size drive for more money, but Best Buy saved me so much that I was able to buy 2 of these drives. Simple to plus in via SATA connections and the drives are up and running.

If you are in need of good dependable storage and do not need fast write speeds this drive is a good deal. This is basically the old WD Green line that was incorporated into the Blue line. Very good. I use for backups. Never had an issue. A terrific price.
