I have had great luck with WD so as I increase the size of external & backup storage I have stuck with them. I use this with my MAC as a onsite backup. I also use "Backblaze" as a cloud back up. The hook up was super easy and it completely compatible my MAC, Time Machine backup and does not interfere with my cloud backup company. I have had it running for 6 month without any sign of a problem.

So far so good

This replaces a 2T drive I'd had for a few years and that stopped connecting via the USB port. I had been wanting a larger drive anyway. It has ventilation slots, which is important for my use, since I need to keep it connected 24/7, and don't want it to get overheated.

Horrible. Would not Recommend

I have tried a 2.0 and 3.0 USB slot. I am constantly having to restart or unplug it because it frequently disconnects itself and won't come back online. I would absolutely not recommend this.
