Installation and setup in RAID 1 was really simple with the EX2 4TB NAS. I setup a static IP for ease of use and establish a few share folders in less than ten minutes and it was ready to go. I have since migrated all of my pictures and documents to the NAS and now they're available from all of my devices. My only gripe (if I'm being picky) is that the UPS Slave feature only works if the UPS that you're using is connected to the network. In my experience, native network connectivity is usually reserved for enterprise grade UPS's and not all that common for a home or small office applications.

I love this cute little home NAS. I needed a storage solution as an alternative to using cloud storage, and this was a very easy way to set it up. BEWARE: The instructions will try to force you to use their proprietary software to access the drive. You absolutely DO NOT have to use their proprietary software. If you did have to, I would give this product zero stars. The whole point of this for me is to have my own private data in a place that I own and don't give large corporations access to. Why would I allow their software to read and write to my data. Please just do a little research, I had this guy set up in 2 hours. Remember that half of the storage space will be used for backup, so 2tb for storage and 2tb for backup.

This product deserves a high recommendation. Simple setup and the best home and business storage solution. The interface is the same as that of the home My Cloud device. You can upload anything from any device. It is very easy to upgrade, and it saves my data across multiple drives. It is significantly faster than its predecessor. Fantastic performance.

Absolutely like this item. I actually have two of them now and use them for separate ways. One is use for data and photos, the other is used for music and videos. The plex app is perfect for my entertainment center and being able to share the videos with family via the cloud service portion of the device. Was very easy to setup and use.

This is a nice piece of electronics that is easy to setup and use. Many RAID modes available including JBOD (Just a bunch of drives) for the most storage space. On setup everything worked and it was easy to access from most anywhere.

Product was easy to install and works as advertised. Although it can backup USB drive/memory sticks by plugging them in directly to the device, it can't backup a pc over the network. WD does have a sync application that can/will mirror all pc's that you install the sync software on, this software runs 24/7 in the background. It works well but I would still like to have a standard backup solution from the pc over the network to the storage device.

Latterly 3 mouse clicks to set up. Makes a great media center. Powerful enough to stream with ease.

Excellent product. Plug and play and it's easy to navigate. The app on my iphone it's not bad at all. It has never crash, it's been there everytime i needed to work.

Have had this item for a month now and love it. Set up was easy and I was easily able to network access to it over 2 of my computers (save files to and access to). I love it and would buy again

The WD MyCloud EX Ultra is the easiest NAS drive I've setup and the options for accessing it are numerous. The downfall for me is that an hour after setting up the drive I got a critical notification from the unit stating the drive one volume had been degraded. After reading through a few forums regarding the drive I was able to determine that I needed to run a rebuild on it. It seemed to be running OK so I then began moving files to the drive but the more files I moved the slower they transferred. Now three days after the initial setup there was another critical notification that the fan was not working. With three issues happening in three days the drive is being returned tomorrow.
