The cloud services is a good concept; however, there are no instructions with it and it makes it very difficult to set-up. Was frustrated setting it up since the you tube videos from the company do not show the same as it shows on the drive. A more detailed info and set-up would have been helpful and could allow the customer to understand how to set it up better.

We actually have several of these devices deployed within our own as well as our customers environments. Setup is fairly easy and doesn't take long to get the device in operation.

I got this to replace my Windows home server. So far the backup portion has worked well and I'm able to share videos and photos across my home network easily.

The box says 4TB but it's only 2TB of storage. Their counting both drives for a total of 4TB.

Love the idea of having my own cloud but it’s a little complicated to set up and use.

You only get 2TB of usable space with this! Beside the misleading package it works great.

I use this back up hard drive to mirror entire computers. Works great. Very speedy.

It does everything it was advertised to do. Set up for full features may be a little challenging but worth it.

I seem to need simpler instructions. I did SETUP, but then was confused about what apps to download. I think I did it right but I am not sure my data is on the Personal Cloud. Why can't they just give a simple explanation of how to back up the entire C:/ drive!!!

Good product, easy to get installed, but it went down and was unrecognizable to my network on the 2nd day. Searched online and this seems to be a fairly common issue that requires tech support to fix. Calling Western Digital Customer Service is an adventure to put it nicely. I would suggest calling during the day when more experienced technical service is available. After 2 days of phone calls I finally got a tech to remote into my cpu and change network settings. After that I reset the drive to factory settings by poking a paper clip into the back of the drive for 40 secs. This got me access to the dashboard and an opportunity to map a drive letter to the unit. Bottom line, this is a good solution for storing and serving information but it is not as plug and play as people make it sound and the lack of documentation / instructions packed with the unit is mostly to blame. I would recommend this unit, but beware that this could require a good to advanced level of NAS setup and configuration knowledge to get it running smoothly.
