This is by far the best drive I've found. Great price at Bedt Buy. Easy , already formatted for us Mac users. Smooth with time machine. I would give it ten stars but I'm only allowed five!

Only disappointed is finding out the new external hard drive was coming out in March. Thin- powerful.

We needed something to make sure our daughter's computer would be backed up in case it became nonfunctional and this did the job and relieved us of having to worry about her losing all of her info if something were to happen to her computer. It's compact size is ideal for transport.

The overall fit and finish of this hard drive is exceptional for the price. The small rubber feet on the bottom preevent the backup from sliding on tabletop. The size of the drive makes it easy to trans port with me in my backpack. Overall speed of backup drive is sufficient.

I have purchased many My Passport drives over the years. They have always been reliable. I took advantage of a good sale on this one. I have been using without problems to backup my MacBook Pro using Time Machine. No setup required. No fuss. Has done many backups since.

My passport for Mac was very easy to use. I purchased it, plugged in and backed my computer up. I had no ptoblems at all. Very easy to use for the non computer savvy. I would recommend to family and friends.

Traveling out of the country and needed to "clean out" my computer. This is great for storing all of the stuff that was on my computer that I needed that I didn't want to leave on my computer in case taken in a foreign country! Very easy to use!

Small easy to carry and love the look. Doesnt make noise compared to old clunky storage devices. I do suggest keeping it somewhere away from dust...i wish they had more space on them.but for now....great size for what i need it for.

Easy to format and use for someone who is technologically impatient. I had to transfer a year's worth of educational video onto this. It works like a charm and offers me peace of mind knowing all of that hard work is backed up.

I wanted a new external hard drive to use for my Mac Time Machine and saw this. The drive comes pre-formatted for a Mac which made set up nice and easy. Plus the WD software that's pre-installed made encrypting the drive a snap!

This external hard drive is required for backing up my Mac mini computer, and 2TB is an adequate size to store family videos and pictures. I also store a second hard drive in the fire safe in case of a fire. The transfer speed is plenty fast for me, and I understand it takes a reasonable amount of time to backup a TB of data. The aesthetics are excellent for my taste, and the flashing white light that shows data use isn't too bright, though I do notice it across the room at night. I don't use any software that comes with external hard drives, so I can't comment on that. This is my second WD external HD, and I also use a Seagate, with no complaints about either. There is nothing to complain about on this product, for me, and I'm very happy with it.

I use a lot of external hard drives for my film company, this is the biggest bang for your buck in storage. It may take a little time for your downloads but many times I don't need the speed just the space.

Easy to use...plug it in and it is virtually ready to go. Provides consistent automatic back-up so you do not have to worry about losing important or unimportant data from crashes or other issues.

I bought this product as an external drive for my Xbox One. The product was reformatted in seconds and ready to go. It has been three months and have not had an issue with this hard drive.

This is a nice compact drive that works well for travel. WD seems to be the only manufacturer I can trust anymore. I bought this one on the road while on a photo trip and my LaCie Rugged drive started to fail. I still have on old WD portable drive from 12 years ago that works well and I hope this one will prove to do the same.

I use this drive to transfer 4K video files from the camera's SD card. I eventually transcode the files to ProRes and move them to a Thunderbolt RAID. The drive has performed well. The only issue is that it is too slow to edit from or playback smoothly, but I expected that.
