After half full the drive started making clicking sounds so I immediately removed all of my stored programs, and ran the WD utility to no avail. Out of Best Buy Warranty, I returned it to WD for repair.

I hope it's a one off and I am yet to try luck with support but this disk has had terrible performance. I've used twice for backup and when I am to restore close to 1 TB of data it's impossible. The copies get stuck all the time, I have tried different computers and it's the same thing. When checking the smart on the disk it says I'd perfect, but clearly it's far from it.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.never buying a black again, it constantly switches from ntfs format to exfat. steam continually says that is is corrupted, it switches my other 1 tb black into unwritable status there is no help online for fixing these issues, it wont format the only way i can get it back to a usable state is restarting my pc.

Downloaded a bunh of games when i got it and now its saying they are unplayable

WD products are typically reliable, but this one has been an absolute nightmare. I will try to RMA, but that takes forever.

I tried hooking up to two xbox x and even my xbox one and would not show up under storage. Never had this happen before but had to return it as a damaged item. Wouldn't even give a 1 rating but there is no zero. Becareful could end up with used or broken, I know I did.

Unit crashed after 3 months and was replaced because I bought a replacement plan; but I did not purchase a replacement plan for the new one and it lasted about four months. Buy a WD product.
