Both my husband and I thought we had installed it on the day we received it in the mail, but it turned out it was not actually installed. Then when the automatic installation failed after I followed the special prompts and they were to have someone call me back, they never did. I only reached a person after calling a number where they usually charged for consultation services. After begging and pleading with the operator, she took pity on me and put my number in so that someone would call me back. After about an hour, an automated prompt called me back and held me on the line for about another five to ten minutes until I was connected with an actual technician. It took him many attempts to finally figure out the problem By this time I learned that I had only 67 out of 90 days left on the subscription. I had asked the operator the difference between Webroot and McAfee Security. Webroot covers more devices but has fewer protections. I didn't realize what I was doing when I purchased the Webroot package. I thought it was part of the Geek Squad protection, and they do administer it. But I'm still not sure I have to have that to keep the Geek Squad insurance on the computer. I only need the protection for one device.
