    I'm yanking all these out of my house. I've got 5-6 of them and can't take it any more when my family nags me for them blinking red again.

    Random disconnects on mesh network

    If you have a mesh network, or in my case an orbi, be prepared for this not working reliably. Sometimes it randomly disconnects

    I was not able to use this in my house. It can not be set up on a light switch that has more than one switch connected to it. Costs more than other brands.

      The WLS040 is just a switch for single circuit. If you mean to use one that supports 3-way circuit, then you might want to check our 3-way light switch instead, model number WLS0403.     It didn’t work for us at all. We had another wemo switch which worked just fine but this one didn’t work for us.

    Just Alright

    Bought this in 2017, hopefully Wemo has improved it over the years. We have a lot of power outages and Wemo apparently doesn’t like it. It’s not as easy as they say to reset it. I’m ready to pull it out and install a different brand. It needs to be reset way too often.

    Soon to be Obsolete, Belkin not supporting!

    I bought several initially. In the beginning they worked well, so i bought more. Big mistake. Eventually, like many others, i learned that Belkin is not supporting the WeMo connection to Alexa. Weekly resets by Disable / Enable are required. Now Belkin is saying they will not update these products with the upcoming Matter communication system. The switch itself is decent, i preferred its design. The problem is you cannot trust Belkin to do right by you, the consumer. They will not support their product, and this one will be obsolete in less than 1 year.

    Complete Mess

    I’ve had 15 switches and dimmers for the past 2 years and they all just started to drop off the app and cannot be detected. Called Wemo support and reset all switches and flipped the breakers to get them all back. One week later, 7/15 switches are not detected by the app again. If you don’t want to keep resetting and flipping the breaker at the fuse box, don’t buy this product. I spent 45min waiting for support and another 30min on a second call and nobody picked up. I guess they are avoiding having to deal with the issue after my first service call. I will end up pulling all 15 worthless switches if this keeps happening. Spend your money somewhere else.

    WeMo plug hardware is decent, software and updates are garbage!! Plugs (5) keep disconnecting and won't reconnect to wifi. No other devices have this issue. DON'T BUY!!!! Find another!! Don't be deceived buy the high ratings of others! You'll love it for a bit, like I did, and now I am ready to get ride of all of them!!

    buy something else

    comes with built in wires adds an extra foot of wire into your wall box plus the wire nuts, my wifi took a hit so I had to change it out and I cant get these switches to reset been on the phone over an hour with teck support no help the other brand I used had lugs and I was able to switch over to the new wifi no problem stay away from this unit even if its free

    Been using the wemo products since the beginning

    They started out mostly good, as time has gone on, instead of getting better they've got worse with each update and revision. Find an alternative, you'll save yourself a world of pain. Very temperamental. Rarely work now
