Finicky setup but great once working.

Finicky to set up. Added it to HomeKit. Programmed scenes. Nothing happened when the buttons were pressed. Deleted and re-added it multiple times, same outcome. Decided to try it one more time and it miraculously started working. Now it’s been rock solid. Instant response. Thread enabled. Looks 1000 times better than my old ugly Hue switch.

Best HomeKit switch option, but could be better

This WeMo stage scene controller isn't perfect, but it does what it's supposed to do and appears to do it better than the competition — and options for thread-compatible HomeKit switches are limited.
PRO:
* Easy to install, set up, and program
* Three buttons and three programs per button (single press, double press, long press), means potentially nine functions in one switch!
CON:
* Only been using it for a week and the battery is at 82%!
* Sometimes takes two or three presses to "wake up" and start working
* Needs a stronger magnet holding the remote to the wall mount. Just takes a slight jostle to knock it off
* Should include screws for wall mount. The tape only stuck for a few minutes, and it requires just the right screw heads because there's not much room

The best option for non-hardwired switches

I live in an apatment currently and changing the wiring to suport switches like Lutron’s are not possible which means you have to get creative in order to get the switch feel I was looking for. After about 20 minutes of this switch being setup the Thread update came through the Home App and it has worked with minimal latency ever since. This is not perfect but I am happy with how it turned out in my situation when it is controling many scense in my apartment.

APPLE HOMEKIT ONLY!

As we all know, homekit is hot garbage. Having that as the only way to use this guarantees it will be returned as soon as I can get a hue switch, and if I can’t return it then its e-waste. Having absolutely no HomeAssistant compatibility is even worse. If this was just a regular wemo product I would probably give it 3.5 stars. Its small, the magnet is very weak, and it feels very cheap. Connecting it to homekit was far easier than their in wall switches (I have a 75% failure rate) so thats nice I guess. If you’re used to apples pathetic excuse called HomeKit then go ahead and buy it. But just know it’ll be a disaster at some point.

Absolute Junk

I bought these to control scenes created primarily for Nanoleaf lights and I’m not convinced they’ll ever work correctly. The lights are garbage, too. I am constantly trouble shooting these as they become non responsive. Who’s got time for this? Absolute junk.

Does not work on the first click or the second but maybe after a while but still not garanteed. Disconnected and would not update a week after getting. Does not work well right after added it. Waste of money

Worked very well when it would stay connected. Every morning I would have to re-pair it to my HomeKit.

If your going to risk this purchase, wait to buy it until you can get one with the most current firmware. It never updates, then after days of just leaving it be, I read in a forum to fully reset until the firmware starts (or at least get the message to proceed with the update). After 4 tries, I finally get the message to update, I click update and it looks like it updates, says it's . Works for a minute, then magically bricks. No light with any button, no responsiveness at all. This is a thread product that doesn't come with thread, I have an Eero Pro 6 as my router, Homepod Mini's and the latest AppleTV. All thread enabled, everything that can be hardwired is, and have gig network speed, and all other HK products are up to date. So it's not my network. I try to reset the thing by taking out the battery and now it has a light but no response. I have paired multiple times and get the same result. Oh, and once when it started the update, the Stage brought down all my homekit devices, even my rock solid Lutron Casetta (hardwired directly to the router). I've had their plugs too (2nd gen, 3 of them, one they sent as a replacement) and they are no better. If unplugged you have to do a reset and reconnect to homekit EVERY TIME. We rarely have power outages, but that is the only product that fails to reconnect. Wemo just isn't great at HomeKit. They should give up trying. I wanted to get their new doorbell when it comes out. Maybe I'll just get someone to kick me in the head, it's about the same experience getting Wemo products to work properly. While writing this I did another reset. Now I have a light,....that never goes off. I've had this about 6 days now and the brand new battery was down to 20%. so I'm guessing at that rate, pick up a 52 pack of 2032 batteries if you pick this up too. Best Buy is a great place to get them. I'm just glad I'm an "elite" member and get the extra days to return products (45 days of trying to get this to work maybe I'll have some luck sometime before returning? I have 45 homekit devices, and Wemo are the only products that consistently FAIL. Even MyQ has their act together now and that works. Why wemo, why?

We could've endorsed your case to our 2nd Level Support Team and aid in experiencing the best out of this device before setting it aside. Great homeKit remote when Updated

The Belkin stage is an aweomw HomeKit remote when paired with thread and updated to the newest firmware. Out of the box it uses bluetooth and can be slow to respond. Once the update is applied its fast and works great!
