Wemo finally fixed the setup of these devices. Super easy!

Great plugs! Tricky to set up but once it’s up and running it’s a great device.

Remotely, we can turn on & off our electric fun and aircon, very useful.

These have been buggy since I bought them. When they work they are great but some firmware updates seem to be needed for them to compare to the previous models.

Spent hours trying to get these to consistently work. Multiple forums with no real help. Initially they worked great but after a few days they’d repeatedly drop off line and wouldn’t come back up unless you power cycled them. Which by the way is a pain if you have them behind furniture plugged in. Unfortunately.

I like the new version - they are smaller footprint and fit better in most places.

There is solid potential in the Wemo WiFi Smart Plug 3-Pack, with the right amount of patience. My smart home setup includes the use of an iPhone with smart home control through Alexa. The plugs respond very quickly to on/of, both in the phone application and voice command through Alexa. The plugs have a sleek look to them, have a protective film on them out of the factory, and are compact to where you can still utilize the other plug (or have two on top of each other). Adding the Smart Plug into Wemo integrates with Apple HomeKit, and with linking Wemo to Alexa, Alexa was able to add the devices without issue. Overall, a 5-star review if the rating was based on the plugs already added to the Wemo application. But, the initial setup is what resulted in my overall rating of this product. This was the most frustrating smart devise setup that I have completed. I actually did not have a successful setup my first attempt after 30 minutes of trial and error with all 3 plugs, got frustrated, and tried again the next day. I will summarize the experience, in hopes that others may avoid this tragic waste of time or learn from my mistakes. I downloaded the Wemo application from the Apple Store and created an account. There is a banner to add new device, next wemo smartplugs, next the image for this particular plug… and then the issues. Plugging in the Smart Plug, after a few seconds the light would blink white and orange, indicating ready for setup. While on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (you MUST be on 2.4), the Smart Plug is able to be selected. The application asked for a QR code to be scanned for the device which is both on the side of the plug and a card insert included in the box. The Smart Plug would then have a blinking white light, signifying firmware update (great, right?). Then, the device would return to blinking white and orange and the application notified that it “Couldn’t add accessory”. Backing out of that screen, and rescanning code would result again in being told that the accessory was unable to be added. There are instructions if this occurs within the application and long story short, with much trial and error and cycling through the Smart Plugs themselves, the only option that seemed to work on day two was to “Factory Restore”. Unplugging the firmware updated Smart Plug and holding the power button through plugging the plug into the wall initiates the factory restore. Immediately after this, I was able to attempt to connect the Smart Plug with success. In the app, it now is telling me the firmware needs to be updated but I am afraid to do so at this time, as that seemed to be causing me issues when it automatically updated with initial connection. All in all, a frustrating experience for setup but a well working product once through that initial hump.
