I absolutely love this beautiful movie for its beautiful story and absolutely gorgeous, beautiful and stunning artwork and I love the voice actors and acting and I really love the sweet friendship between Anna and Marnie, Anna was the girl that was adopted and then because she was sick she went to her aunts families home To get better And she ends up meeting this girl named Marnie and they have a beautiful friendship and it turns out that Anna and Marnie are really closer than you think, but I don’t want to spoil the rest of the movie for anyone else, It made me cry at the end I love these movies from studio Ghibli, this movie is for all ages I am 29 and I absolutely love studio Ghibli

This movie is fantastic. The landscape, story absolutely awesome. Wonderful and emotional movie and very sad. It is not like the typical kids movies with lots of funny animations but at the same time this movie can be very meaningful to young children. If you are a fan of wonderful animation and appreciate wonderful story telling, I recommend that you watch this movie. It is wonderful in every aspect of film making and you will not be disappointed in this. I truly loved this movie and it deserves all the awards out there.

    Studio Ghibli's final bow...

Sadly, it appears this movie will be Studio Ghibli's last feature film. Their animes will be sorely missed. I can honestly say that this movie ends their run with a high note, the detail and quality is superb. It is about a lonely girl who moves to regain her health and befriends a strange girl who in the end turns out to be a ghost. The storyline is great and is based on a British children's novel... Highly recommended...

    Mysterious, Sad, But Lovely...

** Spoiler Alert! ** This is a different kind of animated film, with a couple of children who intersect in time, without knowing they're from generations that didn't quite overlap. Their meetings and the resulting effects make for a slightly haunting, sort of melancholy, but uplifting story about the surprisingly lasting importance of human interactions.

At first I wasn't all too crazy about spending what I did on it but I don't really regret it. It's not as great as maybe spirited away or howls moving castle. But it's made by the same company and the flow of the movie kind of reminds me of ariety a little. It's nice and peaceful nothing too crazy.

This is definitely geared towards adults, I watched the movie with my 10 year old son and some parts were a little difficult for him to understand, but he told me after it was over he really like it, with that said I would recommend this movie to just about every one except for small children

    The Last Ghibli Film?

A beautiful film that may be the last from Studio Ghibli. A haunting story about friendship between two young girls that transcends fantasy and reality is gorgeously animated in one of those gothic like tones from the 1940s. I strongly recommend this film to any fan of this genre.

Studio Ghilbi's final film (at least for the foreseeable future) is one of their very best. Sweet, touching, and beautifully animated, it's a return to form of sorts, a movie that stands with the greatest classics and which outshines even some of the films by the master, Miyazaki.

Really good mystery and it held my attention for a little while but I grew tired of them never explaining anything till the very end. Kind frustrating for something to almost lead to an answer but it dead ends. Enjoyed the story though and would recommend it for a 1 time watch.

Although this movie was not made directly by Miyazaki and was made by his successor it is a beautiful film in it's own right. This movie sets the tone through use of color and has a wide range of emotions that anyone whose felt alone can relate to. Highly recommended!

It's Ghibli so You Need to Watch it

Don't go into it expecting Spirited Away. This feels like a well-made, low-budget indie film that just happens to be gorgeously animated by Studio Ghibli. That's not to say this isn't a great movie. It takes its time unwinding, and the ambiguity inspires viewer imagination. Watch this one because it is the end of an era, and sometimes you need a good dose of melancholy

Although not close to Miyazaki's best, this is another good example of high-quality animation with good plot. Wish western cartoons put as much effort into quality animation as Japan (even if EVERYTHING from both sides of the Pacific is drawn in Korea).

Ghibli's latest and perhaps last film is a fitting sentimental, beautifully rendered hand-drawn drama that keeps you wondering where its going until the end. Gradually paced as many Ghibli films are, but with a satisfying emotional payoff if you stick with it. If you like Ghibli films I think you should definitely check it out.

This movie was animated with the quality one would expect from Studio Ghibli, which would make it worth watching regardless. The story is dramatic and emotional, dealing with love, loss, and adolescence. The voice acting is fantastic. This movie is just another in a series of successes for the production studio.

Despite missing legends like Miyazaki and Takahata; When Marnie Was There does not need them in order to be amazing. Even though they are not involved, it still feels like a proper Studio Ghibli film. It is amazing.

If you're a fan of Studio Ghibli, then you need to see this! The animation, as always, is beautiful and wonderful to behold. The story was a strong one, and be prepared to ugly cry. The music was gorgeous too.
