While on the Best Buy Website researching air conditioners for my bedroom which is 12 ft by 15 ft, the Chat Box popped up offering a sales expert to advise me. The agent seemed very nice, and advised that my size room would need 3500 BTU'S, so a 5000 unit "would more than cover it." I trusted her, and bought the Whirlpool 5000 unit. Well, she was wrong. It is too small for my room, it works like a fan, there is no cooling whatsoever. And you don't even feel the fan unless you're standing right in front of it. I couldn't return it because I no longer have the box, and I am a 74 year old lady with arthritis and cannot carry an air conditioner back to the store. So I've taken a loss on the money and bought another unit, an 8000 BTU LG which is working fantastically.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
