Everything appeared to be in order when the people arrived with the long awaited freezer. They took it off the truck, rolled it in place and I plugged it in.
I waited until it got cold then began putting my frozen foods in from my old freezer. I went back the next day and began loading more in only to notice there was a gathering of FROST building up on the inside of the lid. I did further checking and discovered there was frost going from the top of the lid across the middle and down the inside, front and back. I checked the lid and discovered it was apparently WARPED and wouldn’t CLOSE TIGHT! I began to check further and realized the entire exterior of the freezer is made out of PLASTIC! I tried to use the key to LOCK the door and it wouldn’t work. The METAL LATCH wouldn’t go in and if it had, it would have cracked or broken the PLASTIC lid latch, on a brand new freezer that supposedly RETAILS FOR $1000? And I paid $750 for THIS!?
I immediately got on BB CHAT, let them know WE HAVE A PROBLEM! After describing the situation I was told the freezer was out of stock, but a new shipment was expected in a month. They’d deliver a replacement by mid Oct. I agreed.
Then I called WHIRLPOOL HQ and demanded to speak with an executive in charge. I was finally put through. I explained the situation and told them their “quality control” needs some major overhaul!
I have a house full of Whirlpool appliances and have always sworn by them, UNTIL NOW!
While all the advertised items of running quietly, three baskets, casters, are accurate, no where did I read about a PLASTIC EXTERIOR nor any problem with the lid NOT SEALING TIGHTLY!
Maybe this is why the store doesn’t have them in stock. If you saw the exterior is plastic you likely wouldn’t buy it! SHAME ON YOU WHIRLPOOL! I EXPECT BETTER FROM YOU!

Everything advertised cost a little more upfront, but for years and years of service worth the extra in our total member tech plus added security to ownership

Good experience at the store, because we actually went to the store to physically view it after looking online before settling at this size. The delivery exceptional and professional,
