Pros : Two Ice makers, Love the small ice cube design, lots of ice out put.. Easy closing doors. Magnets will stick to the front of the Refrigerator! Quiet running compressor. Can measure water for cooking.
cons: Ice can get knocked out of bottom ice tray/bin when shutting Freezer if it is full. Don't slam the Freezer door and you are fine,

In late May, I bought a Whirlpool WRF993FIFM Refrigerator from Best Buy, We took delivery on June 2nd and for 5-6 weeks, it was a perfect fit. Then we notices some rust marks on the door. After that, the upper ice maker stopped working, then the lower and then we noticed the unit wouldn't cool below 58 degrees. We called the Best Buy Geek Squad and they had a tech out quickly. He said that he sees 5-7 of these a week. Apparently this is very common with this unit. Due to a change in design that removed the heaters from the coils, the unit freezes up. Long story short, there's a fix, but it's back ordered until late October. Best Buy is replacing our unit.
The Geek Squad Protection has been outstanding and well worth the purchase price.

Very large new fridge. Read many reviews. Went to a couple different locations to view this as a model. When I found one, I knew I wanted to have this. Very large, and somewhat difficult to get inside the house. Had to remove all doors and hinges on fridge, and take a door off inside the house to get it in. Had for 2 weeks thus far, and I'm very pleased. Lots of space, but will take some getting used to for storing things in here is a little different than I'm used to. The shelves don't provide a lot of space for taller items, but there is a lot of door space available. Ice maker works great. The only thing I'm not completely sold on is the night light on the water dispener in front. Just don't feel its necessary for me, but not a deal breaker. Overall, I'm glad I made the purchase!

Looked at several brands and models before deciding on this one. Whirlpool had the highest overall ratings on many different websites and outperformed all other brands so when this went on sale it was a no-brainer.
This refrigerator is HUGE. Bought it to replace a whirlpool side-by-side that we had for 12+years that was just getting too small. We were able to transfer everything out of the old fridge, plus most of what was in a backup fridge and there's still a ton of room to spare.
Quiet, pretty, huge... so far there are no complaints. The freezer is large and has a bunch of sliding shelves/drawers to separate different types/sizes of foods. It has a second ice maker in the freezer drawer if you know you're going to have a party, or just need extra ice, but we haven't used it yet. The in-door ice maker is more than enough for the little bit of ice we use on a regular basis. The cubes come out as 1/2" cubes and are great for smaller glasses or just needing less ice.
The version we purchased is stainless steel on front but wrapped in metal of the same color all the way around. The sides AND front ARE magnetic, so ours is full of art :)
It runs extremely quietly, gets very cold and works perfectly.
There are only a few minor annoyances that could have been handled better but aren't show-stoppers
-The shelves in the refrigerator are adjustable but only by about an inch - at the lowest setting or an inch higher. More adjustability would have been helpful.
- there is a bin in the freezer drawer for small items that is non-removable. It will slide back and forth a little so you can get items in front, behind and under, but it will not come out.
-the blue tape they use to keep things from moving around is near impossible to get off as well as the clear protective film on the front. they put the film UNDER some of the panels so we have little bits of film sticking out of places where we couldn't get it out.
Other than that this is a fantastic appliance and I would highly recommend it.

Less than a year old an NOTHING but problems. The ice machine has broke and the fridge sensor has gone out Two, i repeat TWO times: all within the first year. This means i have lost everything in my fridge twice. Whirlpool customer service just gives you the runaround and it appears they know there are issues with the model. They have no consideration for my time or the time it would take to get a new unit. Stay away from this unit.

Love this fridge! Bought it to replace a side by side. There is so much space inside it seems to just swallow up the groceries and still have room for more. Love that it is so bright inside. Plenty of room to put large platters. Love the way you can rearrange the shelving to fit larger items. Great design.

the fridge itself is great.. when it was finally delivered without scratches, dents, faulty door gaskets etc.very spacious, a little on the noisy side at times but overall a good buy. has cool features like a double ice maker, measured fill, sliding glass/ pitcher platform. Great marketing with the "pizza pocket" which is basically just extra space between the door and where the shelves slide to.
If you can get this from anyone other than best buy and whoever they use for their deliveries, go for it

Great space, good clean water and ice. Three months into our purchase and it stopped working. Called Whirlpool and Best Buy to get it fixed and ran into alot of red tape. Finally got a local repair company to come and fix it. It's running now but waiting for a replacement part, its been a week so far and still waiting.

Professional delivery strongmen easily squeezed this monster through the door and quickly set it up. This hulk of a frig was on sale for the price of the smaller ones. Bonus: 2 ice makers, although the cubes are small. Hardly use the crusher. Quiet too. For our application we HAD to go with whirlpool because of the tight space this frig lives in. The hinges are offset a bit towards the center so that the open doors are only a tiny bit wider than the body of the frig. Other brands have hinges on the edges which means the width of the open doors is several inches wider than the body. You may not notice this, or need this feature, but take a tape measure with you when you shop and measure the outside door width with the doors open. If you cannot get the doors to 90 degrees in your space, you won't be able to pull out the center drawer. Like many other reviews, this one had lotsa 5 stars and several 1 stars. Read and evaluate them carefully. Hopefully all the 1 star reviews are outliers.
So far so good. Nice lighting too. The lights for the water/ice dispenser are on a photocell, so we get a nice gentle night light in the kitchen.

Poor Quality Ice Maker!

Apart from a couple of installation problems, the refrigerator appeared to be wonderful ... then the ice maker jammed with its holder full of ice. It was impossible to take out the ice maker without breaking it, so our options were to either turn off the refrigerator and let the ice melt (thus causing a huge wet mess on the kitchen floor) or call Best Buy and have them replace the refrigerator door containing the ice maker. We opted for the latter - hopefully, the replacement will be trouble-free! It really isn't acceptable for a $2,500 refrigerator to have such a poorly-designed ice maker, we should have taken heed of all the negative reviews on this subject!

I purchased this item in April of this year, it's now September and Whirlpool is "Buying back" this item after 3 repair calls. This item is under a manufacturer's warranty, and instead of getting a replacement from Whirlpool, they are making me wait for a check from them to replace it. In the mean time I have a fridge that doesn't work, with food going bad. Never buying Whirlpool again. This is no reflection on Best Buy, this is a manufacturer's issue.

We have had the Whirlpool 31.5 cu. feet refrigerator for about 3 weeks. Keep food very cool and the dual icemakers is great. I wish it had better adjustable shelves, they only adjust 1 inch. It doesn't show the temperature in the fresh food or freezer section which should be a required feature.

Con: The shelves do not adjust more than a couple of centimeters. Anything taller than 8 inches needs to be stored in the door , which is most items from pickles to milk. The center tray does push in to store taller items but I have to move those in and out fridge to get to food behind them. The bottom platter tray still has blue packing tape under it that I can't get to. Studying the manual to remove this removable tray is no help. Even with directions, me nor any of the store associates could figure out how to completely remove it. Hope nothing ever spills into this area. The indoor ice maker is very small and you will run out of ice fast. There is a second ice maker in the bottom freezer that you can choose to turn on or use that area as extra freezer space. I recommend turning the second ice maker on if you have a family of 4 or more.
Cons: love the size of the fridge. It holds a lot of food. The water filter is the best I have ever encountered. Never tasted water so good. The adjustable water fill is great. Especially when my kiddos want to help me cook. They hit the amount of water they need for a recipe and it's delivered, no need for a measuring cup. Love the small size of the ice cubes. It's so easy to fill my water bottles for the gym. The veggies bins have keep my fruit and vegetables longer than any fridge I have owned. The air filter does an excellent job. I actually stored onions next to apples and grapes without them getting a weird oniony taste. The door ajar alarm is nice to have. We didn't realize how man times the kids didn't shut the door properly. Over all it's a nice fridge and glad I bought this one.

We purchased this refrigerator to replace an older side-by-side unit. We wanted something a little bigger (which this seems to have plenty of space for us so far) and something with dual ice-makers (since the ice-makers in the door tend to be very small). We had a problem with our original purchase because the freezer drawer was not sealing properly and caused frost to build up in the freezer. Best Buy did an exchange with us and provided a new unit very quickly, so the freezer now seals correctly for us. Our biggest issue so far seems to be the sliding shelf in the freezer makes it harder to reach items in the very bottom. Be sure that you have enough space for this product because it does tend to stick out farther than other fridges.

This fridge is massive and has so many features. Practically every day my husband has to remind that he loves this fridge. Makes ice pretty quick and is quiet. I love the way everything inside is illuminated from all angles. I'd give it a full 5 stars but we've already had to have it repaired within the first 2 months (it was open box thou) for making a terrible noise. The repair guy said that Whirlpool is aware of the problem and that's why they've come out with a newer version.

So overall this is a pretty good fridge. There are a couple of complaints. First, the space between the shelves is not quite right. Milk, tall cartons of juice, etc won't fit on the shelves without the top moving part being pushed back. Second, we had a problem with condensation where the doors on the fridge part met and where the door on the freezer met. We called Best Buy about it 3 different times, each time they sent a tech out they couldn't figure out the problem and said the issue was just that these refrigerators are made cheaply. Finally we got a whirlpool tech out to our house and he fixed the problem! He told us that if you live in humid areas (we live in Houston) you have to turn off the energy saver option. Since doing this we haven't had any condensation issues. Also, keep in mind this fridge is HUGE! They had to take off all the doors on the fridge and my house to get it in. Once all the problems were fixed, it is a great buy!

Spacious and easy to see and access your food, gallon containers, storage of fruit and vegetables. It has two ice makers, which can make it really nice for company and get together parties. The bottom freezer is more convenient for people that are disabled. The fit and finish of this unit is very nice!

Really great fridge. Super huge. Measure the patch to kitchen several times before buying. Measure turns in stairs if need be. Very tricky delivery that guys didn't want to do, but I said, Hey, you finally got me one that isn't damaged. We should at least try to get it up stairs (townhouse, kitchen on 2nd floor). It is beautiful, but does stick out from counter by 10". This was not a problem for me since it was in the corner of the kitchen. The only minor negative which others have said too, is the lack of shelf adjustments. The infinity shelf does allow for tall items and so do many of the door cubbies. I don't have fully stocked yet, but it will store everything our house of 2 will ever need. The double ice maker is really great. Water dispenser takes a few days to get used to. The spout is on the very front which is great for filling large pitchers or water bottles. Since it is on the very front, it can dribble on floor if you pull away too fast. Best Buy delivery took 4 attempts to get it right. First 2 were damaged and third was miss scheduled and a no show. So after 5 days I finally got cold food. I don't want to rate the fridge lower, but BB needs better service.

Bought this refrigerator as ours went out and Best Buy could deliver in 2 days. Delivery truck broke down and didn't deliver. Had to reschedule. Said it was going to be over a week but finally spoke to a manager who could get it delivered in 2 more days. (All this took several hours on the phone.) Got it delivered and lights on refrigerator went out the next day. Called repair (bought the warranty) and took another week to get someone out. The freezer also was frosting up. Repair man said we needed a new refrigerator. Finally got it 'approved' and delivered a couple of weeks later. It is still working as of now. Good refrigerator if you get one that works the first time.
