Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the 4.3 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer's cleaning performance and large capacity, finding it easy to use and a good value for the price. However, some customers noted that the washer can be noisy and that the lack of an agitator, less-than-ideal spin cycle, and absence of a fabric softener dispenser were drawbacks. A small number of users also reported reliability issues.

Worst washing machine I've ever used!

For several years (many moons ago), I sold and serviced appliances at my own shop in Virginia so when it was time to select a washing machine, I thought I was pretty capable. I'm living with a family member right now, and this was his purchase, but I helped him and as a 60-year-old female, I probably use the washer more than he does. And boy, did I screw up. Apparently, this machine uses the "dash out your garments' brains on a rock" method of cleaning. I've removed garments from this machine that were barely damp. And forget the actual idea of getting them clean. The water level is "off" in some manner because it puts less than two inches of water in the capacious tub for EVERY LOAD. The only load that actually puts water in the tub is the "bulky items" load, and then, it only fills the machine to half. Yes, half. I'm so disgusted with this machine. It's truly a piece of garbage and I can't speak to its soil extraction abilities because it will not put more than two inches of water into the tub, and more often than not, the clothes come out looking just as they did when they were loaded into the tub. What a waste of money. Whirlpool, what happened to you?

Doesnt clean clothes, just soaks them. No agitator

Does not get clothes clean. Was skeptical about getting a washer that is top loading without an agitator. Should have went with my instincts. The clothes just sit in more water than is needed for a particular load, and the drum goes back and forth, but because there is no agitator, the clothes don't move. Worthless.

    Junk from the beginning

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Ok let's start with the fact I opened my washer mid cycle to toss a couple pairs of socks in that I found at the last minute to find out about a quarter of the load of clothes was not even wet at all. They were Completely dry. And i had it set to their supposed deep water wash. Ok that's a joke. So I figured whatever I'll let it go through the whole cycle and maybe see if anything changes. It's quite obvious the clothes dont even move around in this thing. After its initial soak wash and rinse cycle the clothes on the top of the load were still dry. I literally had two towels on the top of the load that werent even touched by water. Are you kidding me. So then I decided I was gonna use my finger to hold the tab of the washer down to make it think the lid was closed so it would keep running and I can watch what it was doing. I'm still trying to figure out how in the hell this company was thinking this is in any way sufficient enough to wash laundry. The clothes barely move. The only thing that does move is the initial layer of clothes put on the bottom. Which is cool if u know I wanted to spend all day doing laundry and washing 2 towels at a time. But that's not what I bought a larger capacity washing machine for. If I wanted to just dump water on my clothes and then put them in the dryer I'd just do my laundry in my bath tub. Which sadly is sounding like a better option than the money I wasted on this piece of trash.

Upon first washing immediately after they delivered the washer & dryer, the washing machine was installed wrong: hot and cold connections swapped. Dryer did not heat at all, it rattled badly, and the front right corner of the top was not attached to the base. Having them returned as soon as they'll pick them up. Extremely disappointed. My last Whirlpool set lasted for 17 years. Expected better.

    Lid lock issue

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this model about 11 months ago and started having an issue with the lid remaining locked- not every use, just every now and then. After the fourth call about the issue, Whirlpool did replace it with the same model, per their warranty. We are now having the same issue with the new washer, which we got about three months ago. We have already had the repairman here three times and it looks like Whirlpool will probably have to replace this one. It is hard for me to believe that we are the only ones having this issue, but I have not seen any reviews of anyone else having the same problem.

DOESNT WASH WELL WITHOUT A TUMBLER INSIDE. BE CAREFUL. WHIRLPOOL IS A GOOD BRAND BUT NOT THIS MODEL. IM BUYING A DIFERENT WHIRLPOOL MODEL TODAY. LETS HOPE THEY DONT DISSAPPOINT ME THIS TIME.

we have had this washer since nov 2015. it is slow, noisy, and doesn't really clean the clothes. we have tried every combination of buttons and it still does not clean the clothes. it fills, stops, checks water level, waits 5 to 10 minutes and then repeats. it takes forever to fill the basket with water. what use to take 30 minutes, now takes 1 to 2 hours!!! i would rather waste a few more gallons of water than hours of my time.

    WHIRLPOOR" QUALITY. WORST WASHER EVER!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The most stupid useless piece of whirlpool! The function setting do not seem to properly work. It has its own mind and very moody, VERY DISAPPOINTED. water level not enough for the clothes even it says "sensing" and deep water wash. clothes arent cleaned well when finished. Although it is quieter than my manual washer-but i do not need a quiet one IF IT DOESNT FUNCTION PROPERLY USING THE SETTINGS AND THE CLOTHES ARENT CLEANED! I do not feel this is a whirlpool quality either that the company needs to fix this stupid mistake of hiring whoever invented this machine. manufacturers should go back to manual because these machines (like this one) with auto control do not function properly! I cannot believe theres people in the review who were able to put up with this machine since people like me find it useless. trust me invest your money in a way more good quality washer that runs properly, because this one certainly not. this machine gave me headaches and disappointments. did not bother to return to BB too much of an effort. It is garbage.

I cannot emphasize strongly enough - DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER. We had an older Whirlpool that lasted forever with no problems at all, this one started having issues two months in. The pump went out, it gets stuck in the fill cycle and we have to drain the whole load with soap and start over, it sometimes doesn't fully spin and clothes are still wet, from reviews I have read you are much better off buying a Samsung for a little more - heck I would buy ANYTHING besides Whilpool - I will never purchase one of their products again.

Brand New Lemon Washer Should Be Replaced

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Not happy with this washer at all. Didn't work right from delivery. Service tech came today and said it needed new drain pump. He'd have to order part and get back to me on installation date. Brand new washer needs drain pump? This washer should be replaced with new one. I shouldn't have to wait on part and installation for brand new appliance. Now we'll be going to laundromat until part comes in. Unacceptable.

So just got it delivered right now, and its going back. The unit is loud, and it makes this annyoning noise when it runs...sounds like something developed 20 years ago, no joke. It shakes and vibrates like crazy. There is no way this was built in this century, no way. I see a lot of simple inexpensive units, which are built with quality and in this century...not this one.

    Worst Washer!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is the worst washer you can get! It makes me miss the one I replaced it with. The problem with this washer is, if the load gets off balance, it uses water to try and balance it. The problem with this is, you end up with an extremely wet load of laundry at the end of the cycle. Just this evening, when the washer indicated it was done, I pulled out a pair of jeans and it was dripping wet! DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER! Spend a little more and go with LG!
