Horrible washing machine, I wish I knew more about it buying purchasing it. First of all, it makes a tremendous loud noise when agitating. And I bought this not even 3 mo. ago and it already broke. First I put my clothes to wash, went to go check on it an hour and half later and it still wasn’t finished. Then it gave me a error message saying I had to contact whirlpool. I turned it off and on again tried it again and then it said I had to use HE detergente which is all I ever used. Tried it one more time cause I had hope, and it said my clothes were unbalanced when it really wasn’t.. I was not a happy camper. I called whirlpool waited 1 hour on hold with no response I hung up and just requested a service appointment online. I’m returning this and never purchasing whirlpool ever in my life.

DO NOT BUY !This machine does not work at all. It will not let you do small loads or medium loads and even worse heavy loads. I am currently in the process of repairing my machine for the SIXTH time. Whirlpool refuses to replace it. When it decides to wash it will throw load of balance and go from 1hr 1/2 to wash to 2 HRS! It makes loud screeching metal noises. It will work in between repairs maybe 2-3 times. Then the problems vary from not spinning, not draining, going off balance for everything, not sensing and then the famous F7E1 error code. With the money you will spend going to the laundromat you minus well buy a more reliable machine like Speed Queen. You will save ALOT of time and headaches. This has been happening since May! We are already mid August! Don't buy anything Whirlpool related!

Hate this washer, it doesn't fill with water to cover your clothes when washing or rinsing it does all this sensing garbage, I have to stand there and add more water to the wash cycle and hope for the best when rinsing! My clothes don't smell fresh like with my 2009 Kenmore! Should have gotten the Samsung front end loaders. They just don't make em like they use to!

Just past the 3 month mark, I noticed it making a funny noise, like slipping gears or grinding bearings. It turns the plastic (!) feet under the front have collapsed, dropping the motor all the way to the floor, and now it can't spin. This seems like fundamentally poor design.

Install Date: 04/03/2021 Fault Date: 04/04/2021 So far we're very unhappy. We paid for the appliances, removal of old ones, and full install of the new ones. The installers were very nice but they would not fill out the job-forms before asking me to sign them. They spoke little English so they just answered, "no problem, just sign". The washer worked once. On the second load it had an error code and would neither run nor unlock. We reset the power, per instructions, several times and now we have a load of laundry stuck in the wash, with a lot of water, that will not run or unlock or reset. Now we get a different error code: F9E1 So it appear that our clothes will likely be ruined sitting in the soapy water for a few days while we wait to talk to service, get an appointment, someone to come out, etc.. There is no way to manually unlock the lid. HUGE design flaw IMHO.

Let me say 1st that I read all the lowest reviews both on Best Buys' website AND on Home Depots' website (because there were LOTS more reviews on Home Depot), but I purchased my set at Best Buy because I could get it to my home quicker than Home Depot. I also read some good reviews on both websites as to not be biased. I wish I would have gone with my gut though and listened more to the 1-star reviews because that's what I usually go off of! Also, I bought a Whirlpool because from what I researched, they had the best ratings overall. I also purchased a top loader because my Samsung front loader was beginning to smell like mold! I opted for the agitator over the impeller because supposedly it gets the clothes cleaner and hey....that's how washers started out 100 years ago....with a big ol agitator right in the center of it, so they ought to work good, right?! I also purchased these particular machines because they were the only ones in the store that I could get quickly! Who wants to wait weeks for a new set when their old machines need to be replaced ASAP? Not me. Ok.....so I got my new washer and dryer delivered 5 hours ago. I had to wait an hour to use my new machine because the delivery guys started it before they left and told me to let it run through a cycle 1st. Finally, an hour later......I did the first wash of a very light load of my own clothing (not dirty mens or kids!) and I had ONE shirt that had a light stain on it. Not only did my clothes not SMELL clean after the load was over, but that one stain didn't come out either! Ok.....load 2......I put a King sized mattress pad (not nearly as bulky as a comforter which they CLAIM would work in this machine!) and after waiting another hour and 5 minutes I open the machine only to find that the whole top half of it never even got wet because it barely put any water in the machine!!!! I mean it was DRY! Oh, and it still smelled dirty still too!!!!! So.....I am now washing it again for a 2nd time! This time, I put it on "bulky item" and "deep fill" on the water! It sets it for another hour and 5 minutes! I stand there like 20 minutes watching just how deep it's going to fill up.....ha! Not even!!!! So I paused it like 3 or 4 times and each time I restarted it, it would add a little more water!!!!!! Finally.....it ALMOST has water maybe a quarter the way up from the bottom of the machine but still was not covering the mattress pad! Mind you, the mattress pad is not even half way up the machine itself!!!! Then I stood there and watched the agitator move JUST the center of the pad up and down. The entire thing never moved from the way I placed it in there! I could've put a piece of blue tape on the item and the tape would not only stay dry but it would also be in the exact same spot as where I loaded it!!!! So.....the 3rd hour goes by and I'm finally getting the mattress pad out for the 2nd time!!!! STILL there were dry parts to it and not all of it smelled fresh!! So it looks like I'll be going to the laundromat with all of my bedding for 4 beds tomorrow!! That's the main reason I purchased a larger machine! Now that I've put my half washed mattress cover in the dryer, on to load 3.....3 pairs of shorts, 3 small bath towels, and 2 kitchen towels. Again, a very small and light load! I opt for the 29 minute "quick wash" like I did on the very 1st load because I wasn't about to wait another hour + for a small load to wash!! I go and pause it 10 minutes in just to see how wet the stuff is and surprisingly it was all wet but all I could smell still was the burning plastic or rubber smell from when the delivery guys started the 1st cycle. Awful!!! I should have been smelling my Tide with Downy! Anyway....got load 3 out. Some of the items smell like tide & somewhat clean(?), other items still smell dirty. NOT washing them again!!! That's the washer. Now....the dryer.....load 1 is all I've done in 5 hours. It was about 3 of my shirts and 3 pair of pants. The shirts came out extremely wrinkled even though the ONLY setting I chose out of the 10 or so buttons was the Wrinkle Control button!!!!!! Ugh!!!!!!!! Oh, and the delivery guys also started the dryer before they left and I immediately smelled like plastic burning and since it had nothing in it, I went ahead and turned it off. After load 1, I still smell it. From both machines. It's an awful smell!!! My mattress pad is in there now. When I pushed the "sanitize" button (because it never did smell clean after 2 washes!), it pops up 1 hour 52 minutes to do that! Ha! I'll be getting it out shortly and letting it air dry I guess!! Ok, just got it out and it stinks to high Heaven like that burning plastic or rubber smell!!! These machines are a joke!!!! All of the negative 1-star reviews I read before I ever went to the store.....were all spot on! They were: 1. Washer is extremely loud! YES.....it is indeed the loudest machine I've ever owned! 2. Washer does not fill up with very much water! Nope...sure doesn't and there is no way to control that! 3. Washer vibrates even with the smallest load. Sure enough, vibrated and shook itself out of place in my wood floors. 4. Bulky items are DRY after being in there over an hour. True that too, not a single drop of water on parts of it!! 5. Agitator doesn't move clothes around at all, it just goes up and down in the center. I stood there and watched the mattress cover not even move!!! 6. You have to hold the start button in 3 seconds before it will start the washer and the dryer! Yup....what nonsense that is!!!!! 7. There are 20 buttons or so to push on the darn things....also nonsense!! 8. The washer spends so much time "sensing" what is in there, but then it doesn't even cover the items with water!?! True there too! What's the point of all that sensing?!? Whirlpool, Best Buy, the people reading this.....DO NOT WASTE your money on these machines! After buying all the necessary hoses and dryer vents (that is mandatory for them to come install it) and taxes, I spent $1700 on the worst washer I've had in 50 years! To say I am disappointed is a BIG understatement! I'm furious!!!!! I'm waiting until tomorrow comes before I call someone. I am too mad to make that call tonight! This is ridiculous!!!! This must be why this was the only larger machine in the whole store that I could get delivered in a couple of days and not have to wait weeks or even months from other stores!!!!! It's a piece of JUNK, so let's make them available for people!!!!! Jesus. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SET! TERRIBLE!!!!! I'm so mad right now that I dont know what brand/set I'm going to buy next, but these are going right back to the store!!!!!

I had this washer for a little less than 3 years and had 1 service repair call and have one on the way. The first repair was for the transmission. The washer would squeak real loud when running. Geek squad fixed it. The current problem is that it wont drain now.( F9E1 ) I wouldnt recommend this for anyone. Wont ever buy from whirlpool

I am glad I bought the 5 year service plan because I've had the geek squad out several times in the first two years. New transmission, new belt, other parts replaced that I don't remember. I bought the matching dryer and it already needs a new motor. I purchased new machines but they give me just as much problem as my old machines. I'm very disappointed in the cheap quality of these Whirlpool products, I thought I was buying quality products but I was wrong.

Worst washer ever owned, quit the 1st time just out of warranty. Had to have the capacitor replaced after 13 months of ownership, now it is acting up again with speed sensor error, won't spin the clothes out. I'm so frustrated by this washer never again Whirlpool you fooled me once.

I purchased this washing machine 11 months ago and it ha already stopped working.It started by cancelling the cycle and say that the wash was complete before it started.I called best buy because it was still under warranty.A repair person came out and was in my house less than 30 minutes.needless to say its not working again.I am Highly disappointed

Never again!!! I will never I have had problems with this machine from the beginning. I even bought an extra Insurance for a company to come out and fix the machine when it had problems even though it was still under warranty the service man came out five times and was unable to fix the issue never again will I buy this brand

Like the size but its really loud. We've had it just over a year and having to get it serviced because the spin cycle was on for 4 hpurs.

Loads easily become unbalanced, creating lots of rocking and a terrible racket. Moving between cycles also causes loud noise. Spinning is also terribly noisy. We have to replace after only a year because it is so disruptive -- too noisy when we're home and too poorly balanced to use when we are away.

Literally had to check when I purchased this dryer as it went out in two years literally a spark came from the back of the dryer and smoke. Unacceptable for whirlpool products..

I have had this washing machine for 18 months and it makes the most ungodly loud grinding noise. It appears the plastic gears are grinding against each other. Since this began to happen I have seen numerous online posts from others that are experiencing the same thing. This is truly an unfavorable product.

Stopped working in less than 2 years and took over 3 weeks for Best Buy to repair. Not worth the extended guarantee

We ordered this one because it had good reviews but I am here to tell you IT IS NOT WORTH IT. The first one we got was dented so deeply they didn't even feel comfortable leaving it with us until the new one came, the second one we got would pretend like it was going to run a cycle then it would drain and say "wash complete" when it hadn't even been running more than a minute, and the third one we have now makes a terrible screeching sound every minute or less. We will not be getting a replacement for this because it was that terrible of an experience. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the worst pile of machinery I have ever had in my house. For starters, it makes a loud grinding sound as the washing column rotates back and forth and this goes on for the duration of the cycle, the shortest being the "quick wash" which goes on for an hour and 20 minutes. I have never heard such a loud washer, even in laundromats. Further, not enough water goes in to completely cover the clothes no matter what the size of the load is or how you set the "deep water" level. That control, by the way, does not allow the choice of the deepest setting. Therefore, there are spots in the load that not only DON’T get clean but also DON’T even get wet. I couldn’t be more dissatisfied.

_ MINUS 5 stars. This washer is the worst. It has broken down 4 times in 1 and a half years. Best Buy wants you to BUY their EXTENDED WARRANTEE. DONT NOT BUY THIS JUNK. Best Buy has a no return policy on this particular WASHER. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

NO STARS! I hate this machine. Do NOT purchase. There is no option to turn off the "Deep Water" option so therefore your clothes are getting washed in water only. The soap stays at the top. Wish I could exchange. The associate told me that this machine was closest to my last one and lied because it is NO where near the machine I had. I am now washing at the laundromat because my clothes are not getting clean. Very UNHAPPY with this purchase!!
