Customers are saying
Customers are delighted by the ease of use, cleaning performance, and large capacity of this 4.7 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with Pretreat Station. Many appreciate the inclusion of an agitator and the convenient pretreat station. However, some customers have noted that the washer can be noisy during operation and expressed concerns about its long-term reliability. The size of the washer's tub was also a positive feature for many users.

Leaking water less than 2 month usage

4.7 size Washer with mixed reviews.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: the capacity is amazing. My parents have this exact washer, but they have the bigger 5.5 load with an impeller. This 4.7 size is better for me because with my parent’s machine, I had to lean on the machine and reach way down to get the clothes out and I don’t like outrun gym stomach on top of the machine to balance myself. My parents use tongs to get the clothes out of their 5.5 load, so this 4.7 model I have no issue getting my clothes out and washing my king size comforter with ease. I also REALLY ENJOY the clear lid so I can see what’s happening during the wash cycle. The tub is a nice shiny metal which looks really good. I’m coming from an Amana washer, which I enjoyed, that I’ve had since 2013 but all the pros I mentioned above are advantages the Amana didn’t have. Cons: 1. not a fan of everything being so technological with touch functions and sensors. The more technology a machine has, the more likely you are to face repairs. 2. The agitator appears too small for the tub size. Watching the agitator work, the clothes just sort of slowly circulate around the tub without being pushed from the top to the bottom. Whirlpool, if they care about their customers, really need to get back to the drawing board and develop a more effective agitator for this machine that actually pushes the clothes around and up and down the machine. 3. “High Effecieny” it was a learning curve for me to work around the low water functions, but I found out if I turned the machine on certain touch pad functions, I could adjust the water level to max fill or high fill by touching the Deep Water or Deep Fill button at the bottom when I have selected the type of wash I wanted. Reading reviews, it appears the older crowd, no offense, is having a hard time changing the water level and their clothes end up dry. I hope they are reading my review and they start to play with the functions of Deep Fill so their clothes will actually be submerged. I know this is a dumb government regulation that is in effect, but the touch keys are too hard for some of the older people to understand which is why they think they can’t submerge the clothes. Make a more simple Machine with a larger capacity. 4. This machine is in fact WAY TOO LOUD.

Noisy machine.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Washer is loud, relays clicking and some other things banging with large loads, Has agitator which is better than none but they do not agitate like the ones from days gone by, This replaced a 25 year old Kenmore made by whirlpool. Only had it a few months but I doubt it will last anywhere near as long. If I had the chance to re-buy this machine today I would look for something else, But maybe they are all like this.

Large tub
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for about a month and it gets the job done. I love the large tub; it definitely cuts down on the # of loads I have to wash. Downside is that you have to cancel the load to make changes once you get too far in the programming. That's when I miss being able to just turn a dial. Considering it was on sale and that it was one of the only washers in stock, it's worth the price.

Great, complicated, but no complete users manual
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with this washer, but I am completely frustrated with Whirlpool’s inability to supply me with a clear, thorough users manual to help me figure out how to use its many complicated electronic features. I have tried to contact Whirlpool by phone and email when I have had questions on the most efficient uses of this machine. Even the Best Buy staff at the San Jose, Blossom Hill Blvd. store has tried to help me get this nonexistent manual. All I got was a “Quick Reference Manual” which is entirely too brief, and an installation manual which I don’t need, since Best Buy’s people delivered AND installed it with the final help of my plumber due some problems with the hot and cold water connections in my older 1961 built house. I can’t continue to learn how to best use this very good washer if I have to call and email people when I have a question! With that nonexistent manual, I could simply refer to that manual. Instead, each time I use the washer, I have to pray that I will have a positive learning experience. Oh, well I guess it will be an adventure for me, hopefully a positive adventure?

It's ok.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced a Samsung (which I hate and will never buy anything Samsung but a tv) and though it was similar in price the build quality seems a bit low for the price. $800 unit and the hinge feels non smooth and cheap on the lid. The detergent tray is even flimsier. But I'm glad it's made in the USA. It has a full size agitator.

LOOKS GOOD TOO NOISY
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the look and easiness in operating this machine. How ever it makes a noise that makes you think something is wrong. I checked other reviews only after purchasing this item and others also said it makes a strange noise. It can be very annoying.

Read reviews carefully
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this washer but when it is balancing to determine the water level it sometimes makes this loud screeching noise. I didn’t but the warranty and I regret that now. It’s a lot of money to spend and have this issue start within 3 months of your purchase. It washes fine it just sounds like something is wrong with it. Lesson learned.

Not impressed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this washer to replace a 22 year old Maytag that worked but needed some new parts. I unfortunately decided to replace rather than repair the old washer. Have had this washer for about 3 weeks and so far I'm not impressed. To start with the manual is nearly useless and on-line information is no better. Cycle description is lacking. The bleach dispenser seems to add bleach at the very end of the wash cycle right before the rinse and so is ineffective. Opening the machine during the cycle to add bleach or detergent does not appear to be an option. Agitation during wash cycles is very weak, I suppose the much longer cycles are intended to make up for the weak agitation. The old Maytag had a nearly bulletproof auto-balancing system for the spin cycle, This machine shakes significantly even with small loads, have not tried larger bulkier items yet, should be interesting. Overall I'm not happy with the purchase but expect that all new non-commercial machines are similar.

A so-so HE washer that sounds like a loud grinder!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an okay washer with some features I’m not happy with. Controls are somewhat difficult to apply and soap dispenser is in an unusual place. In fact there are too many different dispensers. Clothes are still too damp after washer ends but most of all the loud grinding noise takes time to get used to.

Noisy Washer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little noisy but wash well. Still trying to get in touch with Best Buy to see if this suppose to be loud like that. Hard to get a customer service to ask if this normal.

i think is alright.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't like that it has too many buttons, for example, if you need a softener you have to click on or is not going to add the softener. You cannot stop in the middle of the cycle. I don't feel that this washer does a good cleaning. I have found white spots in my color clothes and I used tide liquid soap.
