***UPDATE*** I was contacted by the Whirlpool Social Media Care Team regarding my poor review. The care team is a complete farce, unhelpful, and was another waste of my time. The only suggested resolution was to continue scheduling repair attempts. I've now missed 4 days of work waiting for repair attempts and have zero confidence in resolution of this matter. ***UPDATE*** We purchased this wash machine in January 2018 and its been nothing but a headache. -The glass lid is separating from the bezel and has a sharp edge that slices your fingers -Towards end of spin cycle, the machine makes an abnormal screeching noise (In youtube video below) -An obnoxious tick noise occurs during spin cycle, not during tests, only when clothes are actually in tub. (In youtube video below) -We've had 4 error codes on separate occasions: - Water pressure sensor failure (f3e1), - Water ring detected (f9e2) - Long drain (f9e1) - UI Mismatch after new control board installed(f2e3) Factory repair service verified all issues and ordered a new control board and rotor assembly. The parts were originally out of stock but I called Whirlpool and they were able to rush ship. A week and a half later, at the second appointment, factor repair service installed the new control board and it immediately failed with a UI Mismatch (f2e3). The technician is ordering the same exact part and will try again. The spin cycle is still making a tick noise even with new rotor assembly. A new glass cover was also ordered after factory technician verified the glass was separating from the bezel. My 4th scheduled repair is later week. The worst part of all, when the machine was functioning, our clothes were never actually cleaned. -Lint and debris is left on the clothing -Clothes remain dirty and unclean -Clothes continuously smell worn and not fresh after wash I am an understanding person and realize faulty equipment can often be expected. This product generally has good reviews (reason I purchased). I believe in giving a good company, the opportunity to make a situation right. What frustrates me here, is Whirlpool's lack of compassion, consumer insensitivity, and apathy in resolving the matter. There is no resolution in sight and I am beyond frustrated with my time spent attempting repairs and for being without a properly working washing machine for over three weeks. I truly regret making this purchase and I'm convinced we've purchased a lemon. I wish we could turn back time and pick a different unit. I created a YouTube video of issues, but BestBuy review guidelines say no URLs. You can search for "Whirlpool washing machine wtw7500gc" or my username: birdsofprey02

I don’t typically write reviews but I was so upset about this I logged in so I can write this review. I was very excited to get a new washer and dryer and chose this one and the matching dryer because they look nice and I wanted a top loader. Also I had thought that whirlpool was a good brand. I am coming from the old-school kind of washer and dryer that I had for almost 10 years - and never had any problems with them. I am not a picky person... but the sensors are complete junk on these things and I think are the reason for them not working. I just can’t get the washer to start and fill up with water to wash the clothes and the dryer because of the sensors it stops without drying everything single time. I have tried to unplug it and plug it in still does not fill up with water. Then gives error codes. I have called Whirlpool in Best Buy several times to try to get this thing fixed. I also spent $310 on the three year extended warranty just because I just want these things to work. What I really want is my money back so I can buy something else and I would probably just stick with the old-school washers without all the sensors. I’ve only had them for a couple months and I’ve already had visits for repair people three times. We continue to get the runaround from Best Buy.

Originally we had a front loading Samsung, which we liked ok, but the mildew smell from the front loader being unable to dry out like a top loader made our clothes smell, really bad. So we opted for a top loader. After an exhausting day of review reading and eyeballing, we settled on this washer( I actually settled on another Samsung top loader but the wife won out). I must say that our clothes smell incredibly fresh and clean. You have to watch the water levels, as some settings aren't quite deep enough for certain loads. This washer is huge inside but you don't want to fill it up unless you plan on filling it with water too ( there is a "hidden" button that allows you to add water at your leisure, as much as you want). My only complaint is that this machine is LOUD, a lot louder than our Samsung, and takes an hour to wash most loads. Sadly, this is the norm for most modern washers. I did buy the 150 dollar extended warranty, cuz one trip from a service tech on these newer machines and you could triple that. It's only been a few months, so we will see how it goes. I'm going to have to install a sliding door to our laundry room just to kill some of the sound this sucker makes. Makes all kinds of noise. This is the only suck part, so if you're laundry room is isolated from the rest of the house, you're good to go. Ours is right off the kitchen, but even in our bedroom on the other side of the house (our house is small though) you can hear it. It makes a lot of clicking and knocking, like non "normal" washing machine sounds. So there you have it.

Really disappointed with this washer. Firstly, let me just state that it’s a beautiful washer and the controls etc are nicely laid out. Unfortunately, it doesn’t do the one thing it’s designed to do, get clothes clean. A couple of things of note: - It barely puts enough water in to cover the clothes (even with a medium load) - It seems to twist clothes into such a knot during the agitation process that the amount of washing across a given garment can vary massively. - The draining process appears to be absolutely awful, I’ve had several washes now where clothes have come out with dirty residue all over them. All clothes were basically clean when they went in (see image) - The tray into which you put the detergent is a shaky peice of plastic that feels really cheap compared to rest of machine. We’re going to persevere with this thing for a couple more washes but it will most likely be returned. Oh how we miss out Maytag front loader.

I purchased the White set because I didn't want to wait a month for this color (Chrome Shadow). I took delivery this past Saturday. Anyway, I've run a couple of different loads (currently washing my Queen size bedding that was on my bed in one load - comforter, sheets and 6 pillowcases). The low-water technology is interesting, and so is the Impeller, which is new to me. Big ups for the engineering! So far, everything has come out clean, and that's all I care about. I'm using liquid HE detergent ... I've never been a fan of powdered detergent due to possible residue issues. The smell is amazing. I love it! I think the wash cycles are entirely too long. A normal load of colors or whites shouldn't take an hour from beginning to end. The Bedding/Bulky cycle runs for 90 minutes! That's ridiculous. Commercial washers (your local laundromat) don't take that long. I haven't had issues with balancing, and my clothing articles are of various weights. My hot water is hot enough, but Whirlpool really should add a water heater to this model. They also need to produce this pair in one more color - Merlot (that dark red color, like the wine). It'll sell, trust me! As for the dryer, it works great! My clothes come out dry every time on the first go-round. No need to repeat drying cycles if you follow the directions. The operating noise levels for both are acceptable to me. I'll update this review in about 60 days.

    We Love Our Washer

The pump on our 15-year-old washer was going out. so we decided to replace both our washer and dryer. We were a little nervous about making the change because we had no experience with the new energy efficient models, and the some of the reviews were rather scary. We went to our local Best Buy store and talked to a very helpful associate who helped us understand what we were getting into. We found a set that we really liked, and to make things even better, they were on sale. We had the appliances delivered and setup, and the old appliances removed. The installers gave us a quick course on using the new washer and dryer. This was a big help in getting us started with our new appliances. Some reviewers complained about the units being noisy. Ours is not any noisier than our old washer, in fact, it's usually quieter. Some reviewers complained about the clothes being too wet after the spin cycle. We had this happen once, but after reading the user manual, we made a small change and this problem stopped. Yes, the wash cycles are not as quick as the older style washers, but we don't find this to be a problem. The bottom line is that we really love our new washer, and we have no problem recommending it to others. If you're new to energy efficient washers, you need to read the manual and be willing to experiment a little bit. If you do this, we think you will end up loving your new washer just like we do ours.

I've had my Whirlpool Washing Machine for almost a month now. It's a treat to have a washing machine that thoroughly cleans my clothing even if it is a super large load. There's no agitator in the middle to hinder the load. The way the machine works to clean my clothes seems to be very unique compared to my old machine which was also a Whirlpool. The lid is clear, so I'm able to see how the wash is being done. The machine seems to weigh and balance the load before dispensing the detergent and slowly adding water as the tub rotates. It agitates like a person hand washing. I've used the faucet button inside the machine next to the detergent dispenser to do stain removal. Great feature since I don't have a sink nearby. The digital settings play like a piano when you make your choices. The digital settings are very easy to use. It's also great to tell how long the wash will take once it's set. It does a count down, so if I check on it, I can see how much more time is left. When the wash is finished, the word, "END", stays on the screen until you lift the lid. My clothes dry faster because the machine drains and spins so well. I think the time it takes to wash my clothes it very good. I haven't tried the "Quick Wash" setting yet. I'm very happy with my new Whirlpool Washing Machine.

This machine has been great to us so far. We have washed everything in the house including king size sheets and comforters with great results. The spin cycle balance's well and get the load much drier than our previous washer. The faucet feature has been a major hit. We use it much more than we thought we would. This washer and matching drier also keep their width all the way up to the lid leaving plenty room to fold and stack clothes when taking them out of the drier. When we first got the machine i would literally sit and watch the entire cycle to make sure the clothes and sheets were turning over and they do. sometimes it takes longer than others, but it still does it. we found some cycles didn't perform as well as others depending on the garments, but we have learned the washer and learned how to best load it depending on what goes in. I think some of the negative reviews would no be so if they were patient and learned their machine before trashing it. I can't complain about it. it does every bit as good a job as any other HE washer i have ever been around and it isn't harsh on our clothes. P.S. the extra water with the deep fill does not help with items that want to float. we have found it washes better without most of the time.

Let me start off by saying any clothes that gets thrown in here is generally not soiled at all. So can’t comment on how well it gets really dirty things clean. That being said, for some reason everytime i’m about to wear something that has been “washed” in this washer, theres mysterious marks/stains that were never there before and require a rewash which often time fixes that area but creates a new area. I’ve never had this issue before with a washer and i’ve only had this one a month. (I also use the matching dryer for this washer) Also, this is definately not a quiet washer. It makes very loud clicking noises whenever it starts and stop filling the tub with water, which happens quite often with these “high efficiency” washers. Overall, i’m definately disappointed with this Whirlpool product. I specifically went for a Whirlpool as thats normally my go to brand, but will be replacing this washer with different brand and possibly signing off this brand for a while as quality seems to be headed down.

We are sorry you are unhappy with the design of the Washer. The Department of Energy standards state how much water any water-based appliances can use, and our washers meet all of their stringent guidelines. We would recommend balling up the clothing similar to the size of a soccer ball, and place around the agitator one at a time. We would also recommend stacking it up so it is around the sides and the agitator plate is visible with all of the clothing around it. Do not fill up past the 2nd to the last row of holes in the basket to help avoid overloading. The bulky cycle will allow more water to enter the tub, but will not spin on the highest spin setting. We are sorry that you are unhappy with the design, and can note your concerns. WhirlpoolBrand

If you haven't purchased a washer in some time, do not believe the reviews that say this unit is quiet. It is not and you will be convinced the noise you hear indicates your unit is defective as the drive mechanism for this washer is quite different from prior models. I had the Geek Squad come out to confirm that I had no issues and was told that many of the manufacturers are using plastic and metal components in the direct drive gear systems and that the combination produces more noise. My sense is that the unit will not last as long as prior models, but we'll see. In addition, if your water pipes are prone to banging, you will need Hammer Dampening valves from Lowes or Home Depot ($10/per) as the water valve in the unit opens/closes so quickly, it causes a lot of banging on my pipes. It is a nice design and has good features, but I am frankly disappointed with the noise, particularly after reading other reviews to the contrary. Beware.

I purchased this Whirlpool washer and dryer because my 26 + year old Whirlpool top load washer just stopped agitating. These look perfect in my laundry room and I felt Best Buy gave me a great deal! I have so many Whirlpool appliances, so I trust Whirlpool. I wasn't convinced my clothes were clean since I've always had an agitator, but after I tried the deep wash cycle, I was convinced my clothes are clean. I assumed the water would fill the huge drum, but was so happy to see it just saturated my clothes. It does make knocking noises, unlike my old washer, but Best Buy added 2 water hammers which seems to have helped. The staff at Best Buy are very knowledgeable and go above and beyond to be sure their customers are satisfied!

I have used this washing machine for about a month now, and it seems to do a great job of cleaning. I read and researched heavily before I decided on this particular model. I wanted a reliable product made in the USA. After hearing about the mold issues with front loaders, I decided I wanted a top loader. This model is easy to use and the color is great. If you follow directions and read the manual, you shouldn't have any problems. Make sure you use HE detergents. The amount of time it takes to wash depends on the setting and contents. The controls make the unit look sleek and are easy to use. The washer will make all of the necessary adjusts, depending on your settings, which is another great feature. Today, I washed a Cal-King sized comforter, and it had no problem with large, heavy loads. My only complaint is that it is a bit squeaky in the spin cycle, and that may be because of the unevenness of my slate floors. Time will tell if it holds up, but I purchased the five year Geek Squad plan, just in case.

I had my machine installed by Best Buy, I have checked to make sure unit is still level per installation directions, and after 1 week, we cannot get a load to go without having to pull the clothes out or adjusting the load. The bonus is I no longer need a gym membership as I get my stairs in for the day and my weight lifting pulling and readjusting my load. I am going on 24 hours to do 3 loads. I even go as far as pulling everything out of the washer and sorting them from the heaviest to the lightest, equally distributing them around the base when I re-load the washer. About 10 minutes later I can hear the annoying DING DING....DING DING.....making me start to fume. Not 1 load no matter how light or heavy makes it through a cycle after the first week without having to be adjusted 3-5 times. About ready to eat my investment in a "Nice" washer and go back to my 20 year old washer, or by a cheap one without the technology!!

I researched washers for about a month before I chose this one. Been using this washer for about 3 weeks now and I must say I obsessed!!! I love doing laundry now that I know how clean my clothes are getting! I love the “sink” inside the washer, I love the deep water option, as I feel you NEED water to get clothes clean, it’s very simple to use and my clothes come out smelling amazing! Not to mention the spin cycle is so good they are barely wet when they’re complete! I bought the matching drying and it’s takes about an hour total to complete my whole cycle of laundry! Happy momma, happy wife, happy life!

My first machine was so loud when spinning that it sounded like it was not level. Best Buy sent the plumbers back. The plumbers said that the machine was level, determining that the machine was defective. They ordered and installed a replacement from Best Buy. The new one isn't much better. It sometimes make an annoying squeaking when spinning. When using the delicate cycle and choosing the lightly soiled option, the machine still runs way too long and spins way too fast. My well-used dish towels now have holes in them. When washing sheets, I have had the entire top sheet gather all the other items under it, looking like a mushroom when the wash is done.

I was skeptical of buying the new high efficiency washers. I usually stick to what works for me, but after my old school washer with an agitator broke down we decided on purchasing something a little more current with the times. I typically like my clothes to be fully submerged in water so we went with this one since it does have a "deep water" feature. Also what really sold me on it is the fact that it seems to wash my husband's work clothes pretty good. He's in construction and I always though an agitator was good to have for a thorough wash but this one washes just fine. One con is the length of time, I feel it might take about 15 minutes longer than my old one did, but I didn't think that reason alone was worth docking a star.

My old washer quit without warning, so I had to replace it pretty quickly. A trip to the laundry mat is super expensive and loading and unloading all the baskets especially when you have as many loads as we generate is costly and exhausting. I wanted a washer with a bigger drum than the previous. This washer can wash up to three loads of clothes in one load. It's also great for the big load such as blankets, bedspreads, and quilts with out it being over crowded. I've been using it for a month and have no complains. I also bought the dryer as a set because a big washer requires a big dryer to complete the job. I have owned Whirlpool appliances and stand by the brand.

Regret, regret, regret! Washer was installed on 3/9/19, have already had the motherboard replaced. It fixed the issue, but now the washer doesn't clean items well, socks come out looking the same. Sheets and blankets washed together is a guarantee to go off balance (constantly), end up having to pull items out and do separately. Taking up a lot of precious time. Residue is left on darker clothing. even though I dilute the soap, and use less than recommended. I'm so saddened by the issues with this washer, and it's matching dryer which just had it's second repair today. Praying this fixed the issue but I don't have much hope.

Thank you Best Buy for allowing me to return this useless washer. I used it twice and decided I would not be happy with keeping this. The main reason is it doesn’t used enough water to even cover the clothes. The normal cycle was very long. I watched the first 15 minutes on my initial cycle and all it did for 15 minutes was spin and add very sparse amount of water. That’s a long time before it even began to wash. I purchased a Kenmore Elite and I love it. It actually uses enough water to cover the clothes without me using a deep water or bulky wash. The clothes more freely in the drum and the machine is quiet. Thank you again Best Buy for a no hassle return. I am happy the machine is gone.
