Customers are saying

Customers praise the convection oven and ease of use of the 5.3 Cu. Ft. Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection Range, finding the controls intuitive and the convection feature a valuable addition. However, some customers note that cleaning the range can be challenging, particularly the glass top, and that the heating time may be slower than expected. The build quality of some components was also mentioned as an area for improvement.

I absolutely love my new oven range. It's so easy to clean and I love being able to choose between regular baking or convection baking. For our household this oven has been a huge improvement over our last oven.

I've never owned a flat top electric range before, my personal preference is gas. I have really come to appreciate the ease of clean up and how quickly the burners reach full temperature. The stainless steel finish easily cleans with SS cleaner. I do have two negative comments. The first is that on the second use, the lightbulb in the oven blew. Not happy that I have to replace the bulb on a week old $$$ oven. Secondly, not necessarily against the product, but just a comment on newer Whirlpool appliances. My last stove was a 20+ year old Hotpoint. I never really liked it, but it was a tank and got the job done. I purchased a new refrigerator, range, and dishwasher (all Whirlpool) and can definitely tell the difference in quality with the newer generation of appliances. Each time I open the pan storage drawer underneath the over, the metal bows and twists, very thin and cheap. This did not happen with my builder grade Hotpoint. The back of the refrigerator is constructed with CARDBOARD! in my humble opinion when you pay $2400 for appliance you do not expect thin metal and cardboard,

I chose this oven for its size and convection feature. It is easy to use and easy to clean. However, it is a little slow to heat up, especially in standard oven mode. I'm an avid baker and this oven heats evenly and has already turned out many a tasty cake.

Nice looking stove at the store. Picked up at store and brought home. Looked nice in my kitchen but my wife noticed a small ding in the stainless surround for the control panel and that the top of the panel was not flat like it had been somehow crushed during shipping. It was really not a huge deal for me at the time. But then we tired to use the oven for the first time on Father's Day during a party with my family. After turning on the unit smoke starting coming out the sides and back off the oven - enough to fill the 1st floor of my house before I came inside to notice. Naturally I thought this is not normal and unplugged the unit and scheduled warranty service. The service man came a few days later. disassembled the top of the oven and found nothing wrong wiring wise. Of course I had him start up the oven and out poured the smoke again - it smelled really nice - NOT. After seeing this he ordered us a new lower element and left. FYI the lower element in this stove is completely hidden in the liner and is not visible without disassembling the unit. So it was a guess on his part. A week later a second service man arrived to replace the element. He could not even figure out how to take the unit apart to replace. He stated that he need to go back to the shop to watch youtube videos to figure out how to disassemble the unit - that was after he talked to Whirlpool tech line. What confidence! I had to call the repair place to setup another service call for a third tech. This time we got one that was knowledgeable. He had the unit disassembled in minutes only to say that there was nothing wrong with the lower element. He called Whirlpool tech line and described my issue. The person at the tech line said that the liner coating may not have been fully baked on at the factory and that I needed to run a self-cleaning cycle on it. So I opened the house and started the self clean. It was just awful the amount of smoke that came from the unit for the first hour. But like the tech said it stopped. So I bought a stove that filled my house with smoke three times. I was NOT happy. I e-mailed Whirlpool customer service in regards to my issues with the unit & their warranty service people. I stated that if they could send me a new stainless surround I would forgive this and move on. They responded by stating that the unit was past the 30 day cosmetic warranty and they could do nothing. They did not even acknowledge the smoke and service issues. Very disappointed in Whirlpool and will NOT be buying another Whirlpool product.

This oven is true to temperature, heats up pretty quickly keeping you informed of the progress with displaying the temps, and cooks food through nicely. This is the same for the frozen pizza feature, the convection, and regular bake feature. The oven heating element is hidden so cleaning is also easier. Burners have different features including one which size can be selected and another for hot water boiling. Read instructions on which pans to use and how to clean stove top. This is very helpful in preventing problems with getting top clean. Have to be very careful. Even small spillage takes a while and some effort to get the burners back to pristine. Make sure bottom of pans are clean and be careful not to use anything that might scrape surface.

It's nice, stainless steel. Light, easy to install. Burners work well, convection oven works well. Easy to understand controls. Drawer is a bit flimsy, but no big deal it just could be better.

Love the clean look of no knobs. My only complaint is the glass top is vulnerable to staining after overflows. Razor blade needed to remove crusty top. My prior stove was easier to clean.

I've had the stove about a month and I love it. It looks great and cooks great. The oven is huge and I like that it doesn't have the coils showing on the bottom. It cooks so much better than the old oven. The cook top is great because of the different size pans it accommodates. It's nice that the control center is so nice and sleek....no knobs to clean. It's really a nice stove and I'm glad I bought it.

My wife and I were left a lurch after our oven died. We found this one while walking through the store. It was a display model in great condition. We got a great price and it has been an excellent oven for our family. I highly recommend.

I had to get a new stove quickly right before Easter as my 17 year old one died. I wanted Whirlpool brand because all of my appliances were except the stove and I wanted them to be the same. I love the look of this one and it is easy to use. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the drawer to store pans is flimsy and small but other than that, it's been great!

Purchased this item for my parents. I was able to get this unit for a greatly reduced price due to a dent. This stove is amazing! It is a convection oven with the ability to set timers to start and stop meals being prepared in the oven. Self cleaning, smooth glass top, just everything that you want in a great stove! I would definitely purchase again!!!!

this is my 1st glass top convection oven range. I'm not quite sure I like it much. unlike the regular electric coils, when you spill something on this stove, like boil overflow, it has a tendency to burn. a few weeks ago I had this happen again and cant get bits of it off still. I have used a couple of different special cleaners and even the glass top scrubber, but it still wont come off. my husband was able to get most of it after he "put muscle" into cleaning it, which no one should have to do that on the stove! then the convection temperature takes forever to preheat, not like gas or regular ovens. I have lowered the temperature for cake recipes and bread by 15 degrees and still I have had 3 items burn on me! I hate it!

Easy clean cooktop, convection or regular oven, Would be better if one of the small burners was up front and the beep to tell you when the oven was pre heated was louder. But overall a very good stove.

The looks are great and the burners heat up very quickly. The build quality is good except for the drawer at the bottom which is very thin and flimsy. My first glass top range and having trouble keeping it clean. The back part with the control gets rather warm when using cook top.

I have not had the range very long but so far it is great. It heats up very fast and cooks evenly. You have a choice of using the convection feature or not which is good because some stuff I have cooked says that it does not cook well in a convection oven. I do prefer the flat top to the coils. Spills are much easier to manage. I have not had any issues with this product.
