Some of the cycles are rather long, so we run it on the one-hour setting. It does a nice job (and saves on water and electricity, we hope). It's a good looking DW with controls on the top edge of door under the counter. We have been very happy with this purchase and would recommend it -- a good value for the price.

Washer is very quite sometimes cannot even tell it is turned on. Dishes come out very clean and installation was a breeze.

    Quite, but Doesn't clean well

Dishwasher is quite and looks good. However, it does not clean well at all. I had a cheap Kenmore that was 7 years old that cleaned 10x better than this dishwasher. You have to wash your dishes before you put your dishes in the dishwasher. What sense does that make? I am not talking baked on eggs or lasagna. It can't even clean chocolate milk out of my child's cup with a pre rinse. Silverware rack is small for a family of 3, so I can only imagine a larger family trying to get silverware clean and sanitized.

This dishwasher is so much quieter than my old one. Does a great job and cleaning and drying. Love the stainless steel and the silverware tray being able to attach to the door or to the bottom shelf and that it has a holder on the top shelf for wine glasses. The top rack is also adjustable height wise.

Easy to install. I did need to purchase a universal kit for pipe hookup but very cheap. Does take approx 3-4 hours to run a normal cycle with heat dry. Otherwise cleans the dishes well and pretty quiet.

    Bad Design With Known Defect

Do not buy whirlpool dishwashers. Mine lasted a little over a year before I started experiencing major issues, like the top drawer breaking, I called the company, and they informed me it was a known defect, but made me purchase the repair kit and make the repair myself. It cost about $50 to buy the kit, but this was just the start. About a month later I have stopped using the and have been washing everything by hand. The dishes would not get clean especially the top rack. I finally called my home warranty company and they sent a repair man out, he said the motor had quit working and the washer needed a new motor and several filters, it was more expensive to fix it so, I and getting a $250 credit so I go find another washer. This washer lasted about 13 months before it stopped working. It is a Whirlpool Gold, I think we paid almost $700 for it and it lasted a year. I am looking for another and it will not be Whirlpool. Bad product and bad customer service.

Cleans well; mind the handle; silverware tray

Use the dishwasher on the automatic sensor cycle. This can take up to 3 hours but it is supposedly the most efficient cycle. Watch out for the handle which can interfere with nearby drawer depending on the installation. Silverware tray in door requires some patience to load.

    Very satisfied with this dishwasher

This dishwasher has performed above my expectations. I especially like the silverware spray feature. It gets the silverware clean and leaves no particles or residue, unlike other dishwashers I've had. I also like that it does a good job overall in getting the dishes and pots and pans clean without leaving anything behind. We do use the rinse aid like recommended by the manufacturer, which does aid in eliminating residue. I also appreciate the solid construction of the door, the handle shape, look, and feel, along with the "clean" light indicator when I open the door after the wash cycle. The silverware tray and the way it fits onto the door is an improved design as well.

This dishwasher is great and very quiet which is nice. The only complaint I have is that the standard wash cycle is 3 hrs and 20 minutes.

bought this dishwasher to replace old whirlpool model. it is significantly quieter than my old dishwasher and efficient. It runs longer but uses less water and cleans better. Would purchase again!

it still smells bad! Doesn't Dry!

After 3-4 cycles, it still smells bad whenever you open it. Smells like formaldehyde! God awful strong bad odor. I hate to open it to put something in or empty it. Also, it doesn't dry my dishes or silverware. I have to use a towel to hand dry things. I am not happy with it except that it looks nice from the outside.

    Broken after two months

I purchased this dishwasher on 10/17/15. About a month after purchase, the unit would make a sharp repetitive tapping sound when draining water. Today, the dishwasher just quit draining water and now I have a tub full of murky water to deal with. The next available service appointment is over a week away. Even though this product got good ratings here and on consumer rating sites, I'm having buyer's remorse. Even when the drain was working, their Soak and Clean setting doesn't remove much baked on food from pots & pans. Sensor mode seemed to work pretty well with light to medium soiled dishes. But you're better off just hand washing baked on items. I'll be washing a lot of dishes over the next 8 days!

    Motor seizes!

We bought this Whirpool 300 gold series had it a little over two years. The top rack clips that hold down your delicate glasses broke within a few months as others have stated, but its not a real deal breaker, it is very quite, but it is not by any means made to last. As soon as our warranty was up the motor froze as others have also have stated. So disapointed in this dishwasher.

Doesn't dry dishes, stopped working about 13 months. Whirlpool had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Said warranty was for 1 year and even though it has had problems they would not cover it. Will never buy Whirlpool again or this dishwasher

I've had the dishwasher for about two weeks. My only complaint is the silverware rack doesn't stay attached very well and because of where you put the soap you're very limited to small items. Otherwise it's great and can hold a lot of dishes.

    Not draining properly. Expensive repair

We bought this dishwasher a year and a half ago. It will not drain completely leaving 1/2 inch of water in the bottom. My plumber checked all of the drain lines and there is no blockage. Now I am looking at replacing the impellor and the two service calls are almost the price of the original dishwasher. I bought a Whirlpool to avoid this. It is my newest appliance and has cost the most in repairs.

Not What It Used To Be

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When renovating our kitchen, we decided to purchase a new Whirlpool dishwasher because we LOVED our old one. The old machine cleaned and dried the dishes perfectly. This new Whirlpool is a hunk of junk! The silverware basket broke the first time we used it, and to keep it closed, we had to use a heavy duty plastic electrical tie. We also have to hand dry the silverware every time, AND it leaks from the bottom of the door. We've had three plumbers look at it, and cannot figure out why it decides to leak from time to time. Don't waste your money on this item. Also, the Best Buy ad at the time stated free installation and haul away. They did haul the old washer away, but would not install.

We have had this dishwasher for one year. It is the most flimsy and unreliable appliance we have ever purchased. The upper tray has been a constant problem with pieces beaking off or just falling off. Hard to imagine it can last another year yet alone the life of the rest of the machine. We are done with Whirlpool based on this experience.
