Seriously, folks. If it wasn't incredibly obvious from the previews this is another PG-13 Die Hard with a different protagonist. It's got all the hilarious quotable quips, loud explosions, elevator climbing, crashing, bullet-flying, popcorn action you'd expect. It's smartly written, well-acted, and entertaining from beginning to end. Is it ridiculous? Absolutely. Is it silly? Very. It's absolutely what you want and expect from a Die Hard movie. It's also the most likable Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx have ever been in my opinion (yes, I actually sat through Step Up, She's the Man, Ray, and Stealth, slightly more traumatized with each new film). If you are expecting Independence Day or Stargate levels of over-the-top sci-fi battle-royale-with-cheese you will be disappointed. If you just want a rollicking good time with a Die Hard flick set in the White House you're probably going to love this movie. It doesn't have a SINGLE annoying character and I actually laughed at the jokes. The performances by the superb cast are uniformly excellent. The sound, effects, camera-work, and overall direction of the film do not disappoint. Highly recommended to action fans who like things on the over-the-top entertaining side you can crunch popcorn to and wash down with a Slurpee.

This movie is really good and entertaining. Lots of drama, suspense and action. The men are killing it in this movie.

The Movie is good and better than I thought it would be ! Channing Tatum is always good !

Great action. Certainly not going to win an academy award, but still a great action movie.

Great cheesy action movie that will be enjoyed by the whole family

This was an amazing, fast-paced, action-filled movie that kept you on the edge of your seat. There were some major twists that you couldn't see coming. Even with being able to predict or guess in some parts what might happen, it was a great movie. The graphics seemed a bit too unrealistic and I believe a better job could have been done with them, but it didn't take much away from the movie. I loved how much intensity there was and how relatable the plot was. You really feel for the dad who is torn between finding his daughter and protecting the U.S. President. There is also some history involved, as well as comedy so it is not just an action drama, but something much more. I feel all those elements combine to make it one of the better movies I've seen in a while.

Entertainment and excellent price; what a combination.

I like the characters in this movie played by Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx. This movie is a very entertaining action movie with a lot of comedic scenes. A similar movie, Olympus Has Fallen, was all action. But Gerald Butler did a great job playing the action hero in that movie, probably better than Channing Tatum did in this movie. I think both of these movies deserve 4 Stars in terms of entertainment value. Remember I go to the movies for an escape, not for realism. "Suspension of Disbelief" was the phrase that was coined by the Sharon Stone character in the movie, Basic Instincts.

I went to see this movie with my husband and was pleasantly surprised. Although I like both of these actors, action films with political themes do not usually hold my interest...however, this film kept moving, kept twisting and turning...held my interest to the end. I know that some of the situations were a little far fetched, but who cares? I wanted to see something that would take my mind off of everyday situations and this film did just that! It had comedy, suspense, and action...I sooooo enjoyed this movie

This movie was surprisingly enjoyable especially for a movie where I am not a big fan of either lead actor (no offense to them they are simply not my cup of tea). However they were both good in this movie that captures the spirit of the original Die Hard movie with modern day over the top action. Nothing particularly deep in this movie just a good old fashioned fun action packed ride.

This movie is a fast moving film with plenty of action and special effects that looks great on Blu-Ray. The two main characters have a good time playing their parts as a President and a war vet fighting back against terrorists in the White House. This movie is similar to another White House assault movie, which is the better plotted of the two films. White House Down is definitely fun for those wanting to see a popcorn action movie.

Jamie Fox delivers a surprisingly good presentation as the fictional portrayal of the President of the United States. Channing Tatum is an excellent improvisational superhero. I haven't seen the "other" version of this with the same concept (the one with Morgan Freeman and the Koreans as the antagonists), but I think overall this was a pretty satisfying movie if you like those action-oriented patriotic, White House-related films.

So we all know that this movie came out the same time "Olympus has Fallen" came out. basically the same film in a different sin, "White House Down" is still really fun to watch. Some of the CGI is a bit unpolished but for the most part, Channing Tatum kicks a s s and saves the middle east, his daughter, and the Jamie Foxx He also burns the White House down (Spoilers)

I think that "White House Down" was one of the greatest action films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite action films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I also think that "White House Down" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, mystery and suspense including an amazing and original storyline.

If you are going into this movie expecting Oscar worthy performances, don't get it. If you want a fun, action-packed movie that shares a very similar plot with a more harsh 'R' rated film, then this is for you. I enjoyed it and so did my wife. There are some very laughable moments and some unrealistic moments. That should not stop you from watching unless that is something you hate to see.

This film has taken on a lot of negative criticism since its release. Especially with a similar film regarding this same subject matter also available. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the movie until I watched it. This big budget action movie is really not that bad given the state of movie making now days. Give this film a chance. The Blu-ray AV quality is excellent.

At first I didn't think that Channing Tatum would have worked out with Jamie Foxx, but they make a great team. James Woods playes his typical "weird/wacky" character. At times, some of the story line seems kind of far fetch, but makes you think "could this happen?"; especially in today's world were there is a lot of "whacked" out people blaming the President for their problems.
