Amazing game, needs bugs worked out early stages

This game is outstanding, of course it has a lot of early game bugs it needs to have worked out and some frame rate issues along with people using bots in pvp but thats to be expected in the early stages. I am a huge wow fan and this game pulled me away from wow within the 3 day head start. Loving every second of the game, the classes are so fun and the ground breaking way they use skill shots is gonna be the new standard for future MMO's. They have amazing pve content 40 man raids and the new PVP system called warfronts where you and your team build your own base, and the final boss in your bass is the monster of your choosing (you have to have defeated the monster in an raid or dungeon before you can use it). All in all I give this game a solid 9/10.

    MMO greatest hits

Wildstar plays like a mix of WoW and GW2. There is a lot to like but also a lot to make one very annoyed. Combat requires active movement and use of interrupts to up the difficulty but your action bar is kept simple a la GW2. The graphics are cartoony in the WoW GW2 style so it should age well. Crafting is much like any other game. This does require a monthly subscription, as of this review the game is only a week old but time will tell if they provide enough content to keep people playing at that price when Rift and GW2 don't require a monthly fee.

A solid example of an MMO with a twist on combat

I've played Wildstar for perhaps 10-15 hours now, in total. My character is around level 11 or 12, I think, which may be an indicator of how fast I'm not - but getting a character to 11 or 12 in Wildstar is not like doing it in WoW, for example. The game is fun. The graphics are colorful - if a bit skewed to the pastel palette - and the action is somewhat refreshing. Unlike WoW, which is probably a main competitor / target for Wildstar, you can't just sit back and click through a rotation on your hotbar. You need to move around, actively, during combat. You can see where enemy's major attacks and channeled abilities are going to land, and likewise, the UI shows where your attacks are aimed. And yes - you do have to aim your attacks; there's no auto targeting (at least not when dealing damage). This isn't quite the revolutionary change that some of the "dev speak" videos suggest, at least inasmuch as I've seen something similar in Terra, and there are probably other MMOs that do this now, too. But it does make for a major change of pace from WoW. The double-jump mechanic is fun, too. The plotline is mildly interesting if not compelling, but the game doesn't take itself too seriously, which is no surprise given the tone suggested in the TV and online ads. For example, the NPCs make sarcastic and pithy remarks - sometimes at their own expense - and each time you die, the announcer voice taunts you in a variety of amusing ways. The game also has Quake-style announcements for double-kills, multi-kills, etc. (The game is definitely action-oriented, but this is no FPS.) The UI definitely takes some getting used to, and as I have adjusted, I've enjoyed the game more and more. Wildstar is definitely worth checking out. I know some former hardcore WoW raiders who are lifetime converts, and there's a little bit of something for everyone.

The combat is amazing and responsive, doesn't require specifically targeting NPCs like in other games. It's also grindy, which can be good or bad depending on how you like grinding. Only downside is low population and very little end game content aside from raiding.

The game is good. Graphics are great and has a great atmosphere. The problem is that the community is small and the subscription fee is still too high. If this game goes free to play then I back in.

Cartoony graphics, good humor, campy 60s sci-fi like missions... and best of all going free-to-play in the fall, so buy it now to get the bonuses that paid members will receive once the game goes free.

This game is pretty fun. Cartoony graphics and a comedic approach to the usual mmorpg. Fun and unique classes. My only gripe is the Ui which can easily be fixed with an addon. Standard ui bugs out and becomes un clickable.

    Best MMO in years

Great game, the stylized graphics make it easier to run on not so new machines and the style last for years and doesn't become dated so easily. This MMO is more challenging than most as it's not tab targeting. Puzzles and progression through quest make you use your head your not spoon fed anything here. Game play, visuals, and tongue in cheek humor leave you with a very rewarding experience. Expect this to be the new addictions in MMO's for some years to come. The only negative comments could only come from fanboi's of another title, period.

I have only played for a short while. Hard to write a true review based on the time since the game was released. Seems to be a hybrid of WOW, Rift, and The Secret World. I'm having fun at the moment. Of course, end game content will really make or break this game. Time will tell.

Like with any F2P game, you're limited on what you can do unless you subscribe to their model. I only bought the boxes because they were $5 a pop.

Very, very fun, MMO. Takes me back to the fun of Vanilla WoW. It has bugs and needs tweaking, but it is a new MMO, these things are expected. But, overall with how young it is, I feel it has been really well done.

Buying the box and getting 30 days of game time along with the free things you'll get when it goes f2p (more character slots, etc) is well worth it!

This is a great game. Most games these days get compared with WoW and some of the great ones are called "WoW killers". While I doubt any game will ever rid the world of WoW, this one is an attention grabber. The gameplay is challenging and innovative. The story line, audio and graphics have a bit of a silly feel to them every now and then. For instance, the Exiles seem to be modeled in a very country/western redneck kind of way while the Dominion has a very uptight, militant feel to it and both factions have moments where these personas tend to be exaggerated to the extreme. But overall, this is a great game and I am finding it well worth the time invested.

Seems like MMORPG genre forgot the roots of where they came from. They all keep trying to rehash the same thing over and over for 15 yrs we need something fresh and new!

The things one does for perks. I don't play much Wildstar, but when I do I enjoy it. This was bought for the perks for a friend of mine. He, however, is a huge fan.
