Decided to purchase this CD first before the newest one. Had seen one of the members at a local club with another band, very impressed by their music. Reason for my purchase. Must say this was a little toned down but not a disappointment. Lead singer, great voice. So, as a Christmas list was compiled, got the most recent CD. A winner.

One of the most refreshing and tasteful rock albums in many years. Winery Dogs is a "Supergroup", and that is usually more hype with disappointing results. Not the case this time. This album is melodic, catchy, and soulful. People know Richie Kotzen as a great guitarist, but who knew he had such an amazing voice? The musicianship is top notch, but not to the point that the songs are only listenable to other musicians. The songs are infectious, will make you tap your feet, and the kind of music that you will remember when you're not listening to it. This album is a 10, and should be considered a classic, even if it never reaches major sales.

This band is awesome. Richie Kotzen can really sing like a frontman. He is the driving force in this band. Writing or co-writing all of the cd's 15 tracks shows this was his project and he picked 2 excellent virtuosos to back him up Billy Sheehan is the consummate bassist out there and Dream Theatres Mike Portinoy has his moments to shine as well. 5 Stars all around on this CD.

I had been hearing many good things about this group so I thought I would give them a try. This is one of the best Bluesy\Rock records that I have heard in a long time. It has a good sold bass line, great vocals and to me one of the best drummers out there. If you like good straight forward rock this is a must have.

The Winery Dogs are the very definition of Supergroup. Three of the best rock musicians on the planet coming together to make a blues, grunge, metal album. Dream Theater meets Soundgarden via Mr. BIG with a dash of the delta blues. Buy it now. Tell your friends. Music is not dead.

This album really becomes a showcase of the underrated Richie Kotzen...great guitars, nice bluesy riffs, and some of the best rock songs in recent memory. "Elevate" and "I'm No Angel" will stick in your head and won't let go. There are few low points (warning: Portnoy lyrics on one song), but the highs are so high that you'd be silly not to pick it up. When I purchased it for $8, I got a great album at a steal of a price...

Phenomenal musicians that have written great songs. They know when to let loose on their instruments and they know when to let the song itself take over.

Not a bad song on it and it does not sound like the rest of corporate rock that you hear today.

Kotzen's Vocals Shine

Expecting the musicianship to shine with the likes of Portnoy on Drums, Sheehan on Bass and Kotzen on guitars what really surprised by was the vocals of Kotzen. At times he sounds like David Coverdale, and there are some pretty solid melodies driving this cd. The harmonizing runs of guitar and bass by Kotzen and Sheehan don't disappoint either. This is a solid cd and glad to see that if was able to finally be released here in the US after being available in Japan for over a month before its release here.

If you're a fan of Mr. Big this is a must. Richies voice just "shines" all over this. Billy's bass lines just kill and of course that drummer guy keeps it all on the tracks. Earlier in the year the Gales/Pinnick/Pridgen release and now this. 2013 seems to be the year of the groove!
