Impressive Dolby Atmos 360 Audio

LG products always come with high expectations for design, build quality, and noticeable performance, and the LG Sound Suite M7 speakers have proven that. Packaging is well thought out, and inside each speaker is securely wrapped for excellent protection. The design itself is sleek and modern without feeling bulky, allowing it to blend seamlessly into my living room and media setup.
What makes these speakers stand out is the ability to deliver a real-world Dolby Atmos experience without the need for an additional soundbar or AVR.
The setup process was quick and straightforward using the LG ThinQ app, which guided me step by step and took only a few minutes to complete. I connected the speakers to my LG OLED C5 TV using the FlexConnect connectivity option. The speakers are fully wireless and support a wide range of streaming and connectivity options, including Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay, and Google Cast. But the star of the show is the ability to deliver Dolby Atmos wirelessly through FlexConnect (DAFC), which is impressive. That said, I did run into a frustrating sound calibration issue at first, but I was able to resolve it by fully resetting my TV to factory defaults (2 times). After that, the sound calibration was completed successfully, and everything worked perfectly.
Once the speakers were fully connected in DAFC mode, the Dolby Atmos spatial audio was impressive. I couldn’t believe that speakers of this compact can deliver such immersive sound wirelessly. They also feature customizable ambient lighting, with each color indicating a specific function, for example, blue for Bluetooth connectivity, and solid white for Wi-Fi, and pairing mode will blink with sound.
What I also appreciate is how intuitive the speakers are. When I switch my setup to the AVR for Apple TV and then switch back to the TV, the speakers automatically reconnect without any hassle. These LG M7 speakers truly elevate the TV’s audio experience to a new level.
Please keep in mind that both the TV and the speakers must be connected to the same Wi-Fi band, either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, and the TV should not be connected via Ethernet since the TV communicates with the speakers wirelessly. Additionally, the LG ThinQ app is great and works as a remote control, making it easy and convenient to fully manage the speakers.

Immersive Sound Made Easy Without Wires

I have been an LG fan for many years, especially when it comes to OLED TVs. I still own what I consider one of the best 3D TVs ever made from LG, from a time when OLED technology was still in its infancy. While I mainly use that TV for 3D movie content, I also own a 2025 65-inch C5 that brings modern technology my older model simply doesn’t have. That being said, I was never a fan of LG’s speakers or soundbars in the past. After listening to the M7 wireless speaker, my opinion has completely changed.
First, the construction quality is top-notch and feels very premium. The speakers are not too small, yet not overly large either, right in the sweet spot for versatile room placement. They have a reassuring weight to them without being cumbersome. Each unit is a single speaker with a built-in subwoofer, full-range drivers, and up-firing speakers that support Dolby Atmos. On the top, you get touch control buttons, while the back houses the power input, USB-C port, and a mic toggle switch. On the bottom, there is an RGB light bar that doubles as a volume level display, which is a really cool touch.
Setup was straightforward. You need to download the LG ThinQ app and create an account if you don’t already have one. Once connected, the app walks you through the setup process step by step. Within the app, you can manage speaker settings and other ThinQ-connected devices like TVs and smart home gear. One of the best features is flexibility, the speakers can be used individually or paired. Through the app, grouping multiple speakers is very easy. Currently, I have two units. I can either use Flex Connect with my C5 TV to enable Dolby Atmos regardless of placement in the room, or position them side by side and use them as stereo speakers.
Sound quality is where these speakers truly shine. The audio is clear, with vocals that are easy to understand. The mids and highs are well balanced with the bass, which is impressive considering the speakers are roughly the size of bookshelf units. They can also get surprisingly loud without distortion. The Dolby Atmos FlexConnect (DAFC) feature is a game changer, especially for complex room layouts. In my case, my entertainment setup is off-center in the bedroom, and I prefer not to run wires. This is exactly where the M7 excels. To try it out, I placed the speakers separately on two nightstands, ran the calibration, and the result was outstanding. In conjunction with the TV acting as a center channel, it created a more immersive surround sound experience.
On another note, if you own a C5 TV, make sure the firmware is up to date to enable Dolby Atmos FlexConnect.
These speakers also function as smart speakers. They support streaming through Google Cast, Apple AirPlay 2 or the ThinQ app. Since I use a Google smart home setup, the speakers were automatically recognized in Google Home once connected to Wi-Fi. Casting from any device worked flawlessly, and adding them to my speaker group was seamless. Bluetooth connectivity is also available.
Overall, I am very impressed. LG has clearly come a long way in audio, delivering impressive sound quality, premium build, easy setup, and seamless smart home integration. The main drawback, in my opinion, is the price. Although they can be used individually, a full setup with four speakers and a subwoofer can easily exceed the $2,000 range. Additionally, the Dolby Atmos FlexConnect feature requires a compatible LG TV (such as the 2025 C5 or newer) or upcoming 2026 compatible soundbars, which can make the ecosystem even more expensive if you don’t already own one of the two or both, since these components function as the central hub for DAFC. In the box, you get the speaker, power cable, and manual.

Great addition to my G5 Oled TV

I have recently added the LG Suite M7 speakers(2) alongside my 65" LG OLED G5, and the combination has been impressive. The minimalist design blends perfectly with the G‑series aesthetic, keeping the whole setup clean and modern without adding clutter.
📡Connectivity and DAFC experience:
I did run into a small connectivity issue at the beginning with the DAFC calibration, but once everything synced, the system stabilized quickly. After that initial hiccup, the speakers have stayed connected and i much enjoyed some Dolby content (Avengers-End Game, TopGun-Maverik).
🔊Sound Quality & Performance:
The M7s deliver a surprisingly full soundstage for their size. Dialogue is crisp, bass has more depth than expected, and the overall balance complements the G5’s picture quality beautifully. You can place them anywhere in the room and they would fill up the space specially with the Upfiring tweeters that delivers Cinema like effects in your living-room.
📲Integration with the LG Ecosystem:
If you have a 2025 or newer LG Tv this is a no-brainer addition to it. In my case with my OLED G5 + LG ThinkQ app and the (2) M7's the cluttler is inexistent and the ability to move them around my living-room is awesome and they work so well together.
💭Final Thoughts:
If you already own an LG OLED—especially the G5—the M7 speakers are a natural upgrade. Once past the minor initial setup issue, the experience has been smooth, polished, and genuinely enhances both sound and overall viewing.
I can't wait for the subwoofer to arrive and then i will probably run to BestBuy to buy (2) more M7's for the rear and have the whole shebang. It already changed the movie/anything watching experience on my G5 i can only imagine the whole setup will blow everything out of the water!

Wireless Dolby Atmos FlexConnect Speaker Rocks!

LG has just released a new immersive speaker that enables amazing sound wirelessly, without even requiring a soundbar! This groundbreaking innovation is known as the LG Sound Suite M7 Wireless Spatial Speaker. It produces sound that you must hear to believe, with 1) 4 inch woofer & 3) 1.5 inch midrange drivers.
M7 measures 9.4" H x 6.9" W x 6.9" D & weighs 6.1 pounds. The only cable to plug in to this speaker is its power cord. The speaker connects via Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, a new intelligent audio technology that pairs wirelessly with either a 2025 or newer LG OLED TV, or with any TV by connecting wirelessly to an LG H7 Soundbar. I connected M7 to my LG 2025 65-inch C5 OLED TV. Setup is super easy using the free LG ThinQ app. This is the same app that interfaces with LG appliances & speakers.
Dolby Atmos is very effective with M7. You instantly hear sound from the upfiring speaker that adds an amazing dimension to the movie track or music. High frequencies are crisp & clear; voices are easy to understand. You can add additional M7 speakers & place them anywhere you choose, using the ThinQ app. You can even add an LG wireless W7 subwoofer.
I stream music to M7 using the ThinQ app. You can also stream with Apple AirPlay 2 or Google Cast. A light bar at the bottom of the speaker is a cool effect. A built-in microphone with on/off switch adjusts the speaker sound profile to the room acoustics.
CONCLUSION:
LG created an expandable spacial speaker system with the M7 that produces an amazing sound stage & earns my highest recommendation.

LG Nailed it with FlexConnect Integration

I recently picked up the new LG Sound Suite M7 Wireless Spatial Speaker, and I can confidently say LG is doing something genuinely different in the home audio space. The headline feature for these speakers is Dolby Flex Connect, which allows the M7 speakers to connect directly to your TV without needing a soundbar, or a hub box. That being said, if you want a soundbar, you can still add the LG S7 soundbar, but it’s not mandatory. The only catch is that if you plan to run the M7 speakers by themselves using Dolby Flex Connect, you’ll need a 2025 LG TV or newer. I’m using the LG C5 65 inch, and everything works exactly as advertised. If you have an older LG TV you will need the S7 soundbar to use the M7 speakers.
Setup is fairly straightforward. You plug the speakers in, place them where you want in your room, download the LG ThinQ app, hit the “+” button, scroll down to select “Sound Suite,” and add your speaker. Enter your Wi-Fi password and you’re connected. Inside the app, you can choose how the speaker outputs audio Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Dolby DAFC, or USB Audio. You can also adjust the EQ and customize the LED lighting at the bottom of the speaker. If you have 2x M7s, you can pair them in Stereo mode for music listening. I’ve streamed music and podcasts through Google Cast and AirPlay without issue, and they perform just as well for music as they do for TV audio.
Once the speakers are added in the app, you’ll need to move to your TV settings. Make sure your LG TV firmware is on the newest version or Dolby Flex Connect will not appear. After updating, go into audio settings and select Dolby Flex Connect to start pairing. This honestly was the trickiest part because the box doesn’t include printed instructions and just comes with a QR code linking to a YouTube video explaining the different Flex Connect configurations. Since I wasn’t using the soundbar, you have to scrub through the youtube video to get to the TV and M7 speaker setup and it tells you to rapidly press the audio jack button on each speaker to enter pairing mode and the speakers will then pop up on the TV screen, and select both speakers to start the calibration mode.
The system then runs a calibration test and asks how far away you’re sitting from the TV in meters. If you’re in the U.S., you’ll need to convert feet to meters. I initially entered the wrong distance, and the calibration kept failing. Once I measured properly and entered the correct distance, the speakers ran through multiple test tones to analyze my room and completed it successfully. One important note: it tells you not to place the speakers behind the TV or block it during calibration, or it will fail.
After setup, I immediately opened a Dolby Atmos enabled movie on a streaming app, and I was genuinely blown away. With just two speakers placed on either side of my TV plus the TV’s built-in speakers I was getting a convincing Atmos experience. I could hear subtle background details, height effects, and directional cues that felt far more immersive than standard TV speakers. It really does feel like wizardry.
What really impressed me is how flexible the placement is. With Dolby Flex Connect, you can put the speakers virtually anywhere in the room and the system will calibrate them so the sound stays centered no matter where you’re sitting. The TV and speakers can analyze the distance and room acoustics to balance output between the TV speakers and the M7 speakers. You can technically run just one M7 speaker, but I strongly recommend getting two for a balanced sound stage.
Speaking of soundstage, it’s surprisingly expansive for wireless speakers. LG teamed up with Peerless for the acoustic design, and each speaker features firing upward drivers for height effects, along with premium tweeters and woofers. The result is a wide, immersive sound presentation with convincing vertical layering when watching Dolby Atmos content. Dialogue was crisp, high frequencies are clean without being harsh, and there’s enough low end punch to make movies feel engaging even before adding a subwoofer. I have the W7 subwoofer arriving in March, and based on what I’m already hearing, I expect it to complete the system nicely.
Another aspect I appreciate is how modular the LG Sound Suite ecosystem is. You can start with two speakers and gradually expand the system over time. That flexibility makes it feel like a good long term investment and can upgrade it at your pace.
As far as sound quality at this price point, I think these are among the better speakers I’ve heard. I’ve owned competing systems from other brands that were plagued with app instability and connectivity issues. The ThinQ integration here has been smooth, and the M7 holds its own if not surpasses similarly priced competitors.
My one minor complaint is that LG hasn’t released the official stands yet, and from what I understand, they won’t be available until late March or April. Since I don’t have proper shelves in my space, I ended up temporarily placing the speakers on top of my LG tower vacuum and my air purifier for testing. Not ideal, but it worked. If you’re planning to buy these now, just be aware that proper mounting accessories may not yet be available.
Pros
Dolby Flex Connect allows direct TV connection without a soundbar (2025 LG TVs or newer)
Flexible speaker placement with intelligent calibration
Expansive soundstage with convincing Dolby Atmos height effects
Peerless tuned drivers with up firing speakers, premium tweeters, and woofers
Modular ecosystem can expand over time
Stereo pairing mode works great for music streaming
Cons
Requires 2025 LG TV or newer to use without the S7 soundbar
Calibration requires accurate distance measurement in meters
No paper instructions included (QR code only to YouTube Video)
Official stands not yet available at launch
Overall, I’m very impressed. The M7 Speaker and its integration of Dolby Flex Connect feels like a genuine step forward for wireless home theater setups. For anyone who wants a clean, flexible, wire-free audio solution without committing to a traditional soundbar-first system, this feels like a game changer in the home audio entertainment setup.

I purchased a pair of the M7 Speakers as well as the M5 and the H7 soundbar and all of the speakers sound great! The initial setup of the first pair of speakers took about 5 min to setup as you have to connect them to your ThinQ app so they are on Wi-Fi and then had no trouble connecting them to my G5. Testing just the pair of speakers sounded great as the quick calibration knew were the speakers were located in my room and made my movies and shows very immersive with just 2 speakers and the tv speakers. One think is I wish that you had the ability to take off the tv speakers and just use pure stereo audio since my G5 is enclosed but had no problem at all with connecting it it to the H7 soundbar.

Great sound, a lot of challenges

I’m not sure if I received a defective unit or the product is just simply challenging to use.
When you receive the product, there’s a QR code for instructions, the package itself has very little documentation, just some instructional images, which is fine.
Once you get to the manual, it’s also difficult to read, and my specific need was to connect it to my LG C5 unit. That was very difficult without the HDMI connection, and only using the Bluetooth connection. The HDMI is from a sound bar unit or a front speaker unit, which has not arrived yet, so this review is solely for this suite of left and right speaker.
Once I opened , you have to use the LG app to connect to speakers, and update, which is fine. But even after updating, putting the speakers in pairing mode was not intuitive, you have to go into the app, CHANGE the connection mode from WiFi to Bluetooth. Then you have to push and hold the physical button for input for 3 seconds to actually set pairing mode. Oh and prior to that, you have to put your speakers in stereo mode manually, as it’s not default out of the box, prior to the pairing… just messy, not intuitive… could’ve been better prepped for the end-user prior to opening the box.
To make matters worse, the connection from the left and right speakers are very poor, I’m getting a lot of static and occasional drop off from the left unit. When I put the speakers closer and in line of sight, the phenomenon goes away.
And finally, because of the decryption / decoding that has to occur, there’s a delay from video to the speaker audio. Unusuable for gaming and movies, the lip sync is completely off by a quarter of a second.
The only redeeming factor is the audio sound itself is very good. The adjustable equalizer helps with customizing the audio profile to your preference, and it really can hit a clear wide frequency in the mids and highs. I suspect you really need a center or a woofer to make your system complete, and to use an hdmi cable. The wireless setup is simply impossible and mars the impression of the speaker.
Overall I would not recommend if you plan to use the wireless connection.

Brand response from LG Digital Customer Care

Hi, David, Thank you for your feedback on the LG - Sound Suite M7 Wireless Spatial Speaker with Wi-Fi and Dolby Atmos - Black Model # M7. We regret to read that setting the speakers up was not intuitive and proved challenging. If we may ask, could you please verify if your TV sound output is currently set to Bluetooth or Wireless Speaker Dolby Atmos FlexConnect DAFC? This will help us determine the root cause of the audio-video delay you are experiencing. While the speakers support Bluetooth for casual music streaming from a mobile device, they are specifically designed to connect to select LG TVs (like your C5) wirelessly over Wi-Fi using Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, and utilizing the Wi-Fi connection method provides high-fidelity, lossless audio and eliminates the lip-sync latency you experienced during gaming or movies. With the TV as the Dolby Atmos FlexConnect leader device, please follow the steps below: • First, ensure that both your LG C5 TV and the new speakers are connected to the exact same home Wi-Fi network. This is a crucial step to ensure the devices can communicate seamlessly without relying on a Bluetooth connection. • Open the LG ThinQ app on your smartphone to add the speakers to your account and verify that they have the latest firmware installed. • Using your LG TV remote, navigate to Settings > Sound > Sound Out and select the wireless speaker or Dolby Atmos FlexConnect option. • Follow the simple on-screen prompts on your TV to wirelessly group and pair the M7 surround speakers, which will automatically set the TV as the primary leader device. • Finally, run the Dolby Atmos FlexConnnect automated acoustic calibration tool to optimize the audio sync and perfectly map the soundstage to your specific room layout. The above-mentioned steps should resolve any issues you have experienced. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance if needed...^Ivan.

I was pretty geeked out when given the opportunity to review the LG M7 Sound Suite wireless speakers. I just upgraded to a 65" LG C5 OLED over the holidays, and the announcement of the Sound Suite Dolby Atmos FlexConnect speakers at CES looked like a great way to integrate speakers that would be easier to use for my family vs eARC which has constant sync issues for me.
#Unboxing and first impressions#
The packaging for the M7 speakers was well thought out and premium feeling. Each box has a nice cloth strap for carrying, plus when you open the box the cardboard insert has a built in handle to easily remove the speaker from the box.
Each speaker has a pretty understated design. There's a screw hole on the bottom for securely attaching to speaker stands or wall mounts. The sides of entire speaker are cloth wrapped, though only the front side of the speaker has drivers (2 tweeters and a woofer), plus an up firing tweeter and the bass port on the rear.
The top of the speaker has capacitative buttons for input, volume, power, and a "favorite" button for different settings that can be configured from the LG ThinQ app.
#Using the M7#
I got the M7 speakers added to my LG ThinQ app pretty easily. They did a firmware update almost immediately and were ready to pair to my TV shortly thereafter. It took a few attempts to get them to pair to my C5 OLED, however. I'm not sure if the problems were because of firmware updates or what, but the first two or three times I tried to set up the DAFC (Dolby Atmos FlexConnect) speakers, the TV would start the "Calibration" sounds and then stop immediately. I ended up taking a break to make dinner and then when I sat back down it worked immediately and was as simple as advertised. I tried a few different layouts and the calibration did a decent job detecting where the speakers were sitting each time. I'm using the speakers as a stereo (+height) pair on either side of my TV rather than as surround speakers.
After a few days living with the M7s, I think they are absolutely fantastic as an easy extension of the TV speakers. They have been exceptionally reliable, always turning on with the TV automatically, ensuring we always have Atmos sound. The only adjustment that I made was to use the LG ThinQ app to turn down the treble slightly, as I find that LG tends to over-enhance the high notes with their AI Sound Pro mode. The Atmos effects when watching movies with the M7 speakers are great - I watched the dogfight scene in Top Gun Maverick and the M7s do a great job of positioning sounds so missiles sound like they are flying above you, even with just the pair of speakers I currently have.
My only issue with using the speakers so far has been that they don't seem to automatically switch back and forth between direct Chromecast mode and DAFC mode. The first few times I used them for music, I connected Chromecast directly to the speakers and then would find the speakers would not automatically pair to the TV the next time I turned it on. I learned my lesson, and now I just stream music to the TV itself instead of direct to the speakers, and that solves the problem easily.
#Final thoughts#
The Sound Suite M7 speakers sound fantastic, and not just in a "for a wireless speaker" sense - they just sound really good. They work well directly with my LG C5 TV in DAFC mode. They look nice, and are easy to control via the LG ThinQ app. I'd recommend them to anyone with a compatible TV looking for easy to use speakers that massively upgrade the TV's sound without any extra components. I can't wait til I can add speakers to the set for an even more complete home theater sound.

The LG Sound Suite M7 is a masterclass in balancing high-fidelity performance with the seamless convenience of a modern wireless ecosystem. Right out of the box, the speaker impresses with its architectural, wedge-shaped design that looks more like premium decor than a piece of hardware, but the true brilliance lies in its expansive soundstage. Equipped with high-quality drivers that deliver sparkling highs and a surprisingly punchy, controlled low end, the M7 handles everything from delicate jazz textures to heavy cinematic scores without a hint of distortion. Its integration into a multi-room setup is remarkably fluid, offering rock-solid Wi-Fi stability that ensures your music follows you from room to room with perfect synchronization and zero lag. Whether you’re using a single unit to fill a kitchen with warmth or pairing two for a sophisticated stereo experience in the living room, the M7 justifies its place in any home by being both versatile and consistently reliable. It’s a rare audio solution that respects the aesthetics of your living space while refusing to compromise on the rich, immersive acoustic detail that audiophiles crave.
I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone that loves quality audio.

Big spatial wireless sound

The new LG M7 Wireless Spatial Speaker is part of the new LG Sound Suite AI audio system that easily expands from a single soundbar or speaker, to a complete multi-channel wireless Dolby Atmos system. It will greatly improve your TV movie sound experience or stereo music listening from any device wirelessly or via Bluetooth streaming. The M7 Speaker can be deployed by itself, or in a pair for better spatial stereo sound stage. The LG Sound Suite AI system will also connect the W7 powered subwoofer to be purchased separately. You can also add additional M7 or smaller M5 wireless speakers to create a larger 3D sound stage. Both the sub and the all speakers connect wirelessly to an LG C5-series TV, all they need is power, so that makes their placement very easy. Moreover, the speakers can be positioned anywhere in the room, even asymmetrically, because the AI calibration routine will balance and adjust the sound to your perfect listening position.
The initial setup is very easy, just plug-in and turn the speaker(s) on. Install/run the LG ThinQ app on your phone, which will require setting up an account with LG and entering your Wi-Fi password. I have been using this App for a while, since it also manages my LG washer and dryer. So for me, it only took a few minutes to add the M7 Wireless speaker to the setup. On my 83” LG C5 TV, I had to go to the Sound Out menu and select Dolby Atmos FlexConnect to pair with two M7 speakers over Wi-Fi. The LG ThinQ App is well developed and allows you to control all features such as volume, tone/equalizer settings, bass boost, lighting and connectivity methods (Wi-Fi, Dolby DAFC, Bluetooth)
The sound level coming out of this system is quite loud and impressive for the size of these M7 speakers. Even without a separate subwoofer (yet) they provide plenty of bass complementing the TV speakers. I was quite pleased with the immersive surround sound spatial field that was very enveloping but it kind of blended everything together - not enough separation between the channels and definitely hard to distinguish the Atmos height sounds that are supposed to bounce off the ceiling from the up-firing front and rear speaker drivers if installed.
All in all this is an impressive modular sound system, providing total wireless connectivity freedom, with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It will make a great addition to any medium size entertainment room, large bedroom or living room for both an enhanced movie or sports watching experience as well as Hi-Fi music listening experience.

These are really good home theaterspeakers for your media center. I use them for my connected PC to my TV and the sound is thunderous. You can directly connect them using Bluetooth to your television as well. I have the subwoofer, which is wireless as well, on the way and I can’t wait to pair that with these. The set up was so minimal. You open the box to a card with a QR code to download the app and after you create your account, you’re up and running in 10 minutes completely wireless. Literally, the only thing included in the box is a power cable. I really appreciate the simplicity as everything is controlled through your phone. The speakers themselves are cylindrical firing out on all sides and the clarity that I get from these is just astounding. The style is very 90s retro which I appreciate the use of AI in these speakers seems to be for processing only however I was able to pair these with my Alexa for whatever that’s worth. There is a physical button to disable the microphone if you’re worried about that.
