Game is excellent, i have been playing it on handheld mode and absolutely love it. Docked its even better. Very smooth game, great action, exciting. The red cover box is phenomenal for display, and the hardcover artbook is incredible. If you love the series, and you want something to display then this is what you want to get. if not, then go with the regular game only.

Xenoblade Chronicles was already a great rpg- good story, fun battles, and over 60 hours of content. This release adds a new chapter and area, and returning fans don't even have to complete the game again to access it! While this special edition isn't the best, the extras are nice if you want to spend the money. Otherwise the core game is very worth the cash.

Just finished the game after putting in over 60 hours, and that's just the start. I skipped almost every side quest, because I had never played this game before and I just wanted to rush through the story as quickly as possible. I plan on starting a New Game Plus to take my time and do all the side quests, and I'm sure it'll be hundreds of hours. I have 360 hours in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and it looks like this one will have a similar amount of content. These games have a massive amount of content which makes them easily worth the money to purchase, and I'm so glad the original got a remaster on Switch. The game looks fantastic and runs perfectly, I never experienced any framerate or loading issues. The collector's edition book is really nice, very similar to the art books from XC2 or XCX. I like the red cover with a holographic Mona do, but I would have liked it more if the cover was something from the game like a mech or something, so it would match the other books better. If you like JRPGs, or if you like sci-fi and fantasy and want to experience a fantastic adventure, I'd highly recommend Xenoblade Chronicles. While I personally prefer XC2 since I played it first, this is a solid game too and very fun.

I've played this game numerous times on the 3DS and Wii. This version really updates the graphics and provides quality of life tweaks that make it easier to navigate and enjoy. The story is fantastic. The only downside is it requires a sizable amount of time to complete (also has added DLC which adds more time to this). However, it's well worth it.

This remaster is truly stunning on the Switch. Little tweaks have made the gameplay better than ever, but the core mechanics are unchanged. The music has been remastered to accompany the beautiful graphics, and also a bonus epilogue story too! The collector's edition is a stunning boxset with lots of goodies I just couldn't pass up. Highly recommend!

Probably my all-time favorite JRPG, and I've been playing them now for around 25 years. It improves on an already incredible game - if you have never played it, you owe it to yourself to do so. If you have played it, experience it all over again with much improved graphics, music, and even some nice quality-of-life improvements in the gameplay.

When this game first came out years ago on the Wii, it was already something special. The huge environments you traverse along with a great story makes it an easy recommendation for me. I would consider this to be one of the best jrpgs and the fact that it got an overhaul in graphics along with the portability of the Switch makes it a must buy!

Xenoblade is one of the finest JRPGs ever made. Well written likeable characters compliment a finely crafted story that subverts expectations. Deep RPG systems and character progression make you feel like you're always accomplishing something. The combat is engaging and challenging, and every character brings something unique to the table.

Xenoblade Chronicles is a special game in many ways. It tells a masterful story that is well complemented by it's unique gameplay system, massive and creative world exploration and a masterpiece of a soundtrack. As someone who's played RPGs for over 20 years, Xenoblade is one of the greatest experiences I've ever had with a video game.

I never played the original Wii game, and tried the 3ds but lost interest quickly, but on the switch in TV mode, I was finally able to enjoy playing Xenoblade, the game and mechanics are a ton of fun, and would recommend to any jrpg fan. The art book is amazing and was totally worth the price, as is the beautiful packaging.

Xenoblade Chronicles has arrived on the switch with the definitive version and I'm grateful that this is the first way I'm experiencing it. The definitive works set is alright in terms of value - the art book is excellent. Given the option, I'd rather have the UK/EU version which is much more well appointed.

Best freakin RPG I played in years. It's not turn based. but rather you stand beside the enemy and just let it go. Very deep story and replayable with a new story+ mode that adds... well it adds a little more. I recommend just beating the crap out of it and playing again on new story+

If you simply want to play the game, then just get the standard edition. If you are already a fan of Xenoblade, then this package is good enough. You get a hefty artbook with a slipcase along with premium packaging (I am unsure if this is a rerelease of the original game's artbook, but I cannot check since I've heard there are spoilers of course). I like how the Monado is drawn on the piece of cardboard that holds the game in place--a neat detail. Wish there were more goodies like in the European or Japanese edition, but that would drive the price up higher.

This special set is perfect for fans of Xenoblade, as the included Art book is a proper full sized one. Newer Special editions typically contain greatly abbreviated art books, just a waste of money. Game itself is nice upgrade with some improvements in gameplay and better graphics.

This set is very nice, the artbook is high quality and packed with intricate detail and interesting design sketches that will make any fan of the game happy. The game itself is also one of the best JRPGs ever made - it's long, but definitely worth the time you'll put into it!

I liked the original game. So having the game on the go better with better graphics than the 3DS remake is a plus. I wish that it came with the soundtrack LP disc like the European version or a soundtrack CD. We, American gamers, got gimped.

Don't get me wrong, this is a much own game for those who have not played it before and are JRPG fans. However, don't let the overhyped rhetoric raise your expectations too high. Everything is fine, but not a single aspect is perfect or upper tier quality. Gameplay is serviceable, graphics are held back by being a Switch game, and the story is good but not the best ever like so many Fantatics make it out to be. Solid 8/10 game. nowhere near a 9 or 10.

I didn't play the original on Wii but from all the reviews this is THE version to play a good old JRPG. The big art book that comes with this edition is pretty awesome. Perfect for a coffee table book.

A once-great RPG is made great again on Switch. The graphics are given a beautiful touch-up, and the gameplay is as satisfying as ever. I don’t always enjoy collector’s editions with art books, but that is because they are usually those tiny art pamphlets. This massive art book that’s included with this edition is the way to do it, and it’s filled with absolutely gorgeous art. Highly recommended.

The updated visuals, remastered soundtrack, and additional post-game epilogue make this experience even better 10 years later! The hardcover art book is beautiful to thumb through as well.
