Customers are enthusiastic about Xenoblade Chronicles X's stunning graphics, fantastic gameplay, and expansive open world. Many also praised the compelling story and deep combat system, along with the extensive customization options. However, some players found the soundtrack unappealing and the text size too small. A few also mentioned challenges with the controls and the amount of time needed to level up.

Not for the casual gamer, but an Epic tale awaits

This is not a game for the casual gamer, or for someone looking for a 'hit and run' game that can be played for 20-30 and then forgotten for a few days. This is an expansive game and time suck... and worth every immersive minute. The game's visuals are striking and beautiful and the scale breathtaking at times. The beauty and scale of the game are only second to the sheer size of the world; it's insanely big, dwarfing many other popular open world games on other systems. There are moments where the game is a bit unforgiving, combat can drag and some battles feel unfair until you realize you just need to level and equip accordingly... and actually use tactics/strategy. The time spent playing out the story until you get your first mech is pretty daunting, but again worth the wait.
Other than those personal preferences (can't really call them flaws) and maybe some of the voice acting, I can't recommend this game strongly enough... at least for the jrpg and rpg fans in general who have a lot of time to invest.

This is by far the best game I've played on Wii U. Graphics are surprising for the system, and the story is interesting. The MMO style combat is fast and fun. My only complaints are the lack of direction for some side quests (you wil get lost) and the aweful music in the main city. I'm glad Monolith provided the free DLC packs to get around the disc and improve the game's textures, load times, and overall stability though.

It may not be exactly my cup of tea, but a lot of solid effort went into this game and it shows. Firstly, the story is compelling, unless sci-fi survival just isn't your thing. As you continue to play, it doesn't take long for the story to get very complex with new plot elements added as you continue to explore. And that is another thing all together: there is a lot to explore, and it is lush and thick, rich in attention to detail and strategy. Each situation has to be handled using an approach that works, and with the open world as rich as it is, I suppose the approach will vary extraordinarily from player to player, thus making Xenoblade Chronicles X a very different game for each player. Lastly, that brings me to customization. Weapons, outfits, characters, jobs, etc.: there's enough here to satisfy every style of play. Every element of Xenoblade is crafted to perfection, and I can see why Nintendo believes in Monolith Soft.

This is a seamlessly huge world to explore. No load times with the data packs installed and you can go pretty much anywhere. Story is interesting and the combat is addictive. Very MMO-like. One of my favorite games of this year.

Xenoblade Chronicles X doesn't match the masterpiece that is the original Xenoblade, but it is a solid title in its own right. It offers 5 massive maps to explore, ranging from a charred volcanic landscape that frequently rains fire, to an ashen wonderland inhabited by deadly sentry bots and massive sandworms. I don't kid when I say that the world of Xenoblade X is amongst the most beautiful I've seen. The combat is of the MMO style, which is engaging, but may not appeal to those that aren't use to it. The story leaves a lot to be desired (especially compared to the masterful story of the original), but the game is much more focused on gameplay than story, so this may or may not affect your overall opinion of the game. Overall, I can say this is a solid game that will appeal to many JRPG fans.

One of the most visually fun games I have played in a while. I love the game play and story line is fun. Tatsu being the main cheesy like Jar Jar character, but overall it makes you laugh. The world in this game is massive with so many quests and notorious monsters to kill. Very strategic the farther in you get. The first few levels will zoom by but once you hit end game....get ready to plan before you battle. Great interesting evolving world.

Phenomenal graphics for the Wii U, incredibly hardcore depth and size, controls that work very well, and highly imaginative creatures and world. My only negative would be the music isn't as good as Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii, but that's a relatively minor thing.
Anyone who likes RPGs should seriously give this a shot. It'll keep you busy for dozens of hours - and you'll enjoy practically every moment of it.

Not a pick up and play game. Time consuming... if you like games where you explore and level up... Xeno Blade may be for you. The graphics aren't that great... but the game makes up for it with a huge world and interesting gameplay. Lots of things you can customize, weapon updrages, armor upgrades, "party" aka member upgrades... Interesting game.
This & Bayonetta 1 & 2 are games worth getting for the Wii U

One of the most awaited RPG's to hit the Wii U was worth the wait! The story in this game is one thing but the side quests you take on gives you an immersive experience. Customize your character and you're ready to set off into a huge world with hours of gameplay that makes you lose track of time. The game itself is really relaxing and the environments are very beautiful. I recommend it to anyone.

Easily one of the best Wii U titles. An open world RPG that lets you explore a beautiful world. This game pushes the Wii U to its limits with its lush and amazing environments. Things really take,it when you get access to the Skels (the giant mechs like on the front cover). There's tons of missions in the game and you could easily sink 100+ hours into. Wii U must have title

This is an amazing work of modern gaming. The world is enormous and there is a ton of things to do. However, the RPG combat is real-time with cool downs and so it keeps the battle mechanics fun. I really couldn't recommend this game enough. You may want to get the manual though. Flying your Giant Mech is great!

This is a great follow-up game to the amazing Xenoblade Chronicles. The battle system feels more refined, the game runs well and looks good, and the open world feels more accessible. The story so far isn't quite as good as the first, but that was a high standard to reach along with all the other additions made.

It may not be a master piece like the original Xenoblade , but it comes pretty close. It has great combat, huge world, good story, loads to do. The only thing I don't like is the music it feels very out place at times. My score would be 8/10!!!

What can I say? This game is sure to keep you busy for days, weeks, dare I say months? Huge world to explore. Tons of characters, weapons, armor, quests, creatures to destroy, and locations to discover. Pretty interesting story. You can fly a mech deep into the game. I really like the music too. Great job!

Looking for a grand adventure in a massive world? This is the game for you. Great sequel to what is probably a hidden game on the Wii. If you enjoy action RPGs, mechs, a big story, a world full of surprises and things to explore, pick this up. One of the best games on the WiiU.

Looking for something big and epic? This is the game. Like Skyrim? Like robots? Sci-fi? Then this is you're game.
Tons of customization, open ended gameplay, a huge open world, great looking environments and effects, unique music, and addicting combat. The game has everything.
