My new unit was easy to set up and the sound quality is good. Supprisingly really because I purchased it to be a second AV receiver. Maybe I should buy another? Main drawback is no wireless.

I spent a lot of time researching an entry level AVR before settling on this one. The price was right and Yamaha seemed to have the least problems with HDMI circuits based on reviews. Unfortunately, like most things that are have software running them, the receiver acts flaky every once in a while. There have been multiple occasions where it will send audio to the TV instead of the speaker setup or HDMI CEC won't work. Usually a simple reset of the power switch fixes the issue. Overall happy with the purchase.

Doesn't have some of the bells and whistles others do but a good solid unit with a good setup procedure that facilitates balancing the speakers and validating the polarity.

I traded in my older Yamaha for the latest model to be compatible with a Sony Bravia. The right decision on the right product for the right TV. In short, a perfect fit!

Looking to replace my older Onkyo I decided to check out Yamaha since they have the YPAO(room acoustic mic) to get a more refined sound. I am really happy with the sound quality. Good bass response and very clean sound! DTS-MA and Dolby TRUE HD sound great! If your Home Theatre is a small man cave like mine then this is all you really need. Matched up with my Yamaha 5.1 speakers it is more than adequate.

The Best Buy employee did not recommend this to us but after reviewing multiple comments I decided to go ahead with this purchase. I'm glad I did because it works great, is easy to set up and has a USB connection so you can plug in your phone, IPod, etc. We are very happy with the quality and the price was just right.

I needed a single channel (monophonic) amplifier with USB input. This being 2015, such a product comes with many more features. Fortunately, the Yamaha receiver works just fine if I ignore all these other features. Setup took only a couple of minutes: connect the output wires, connect my iPhone to the USB input via a Lightning cable, and choose Aux as the input on the receiver.

I was looking for a new stereo and speaker system for the garage. I was torn between Yamaha and Onkyo. These 2 companies are 2 of the better brands in my opinion. I already have an Onkyo stereo system in the house and it sounds great, and I have an Onkyo Surround Sound System on the TV. It had been several years since I used Yamaha, and I thought I would give them a try. The Yamaha was quite a bit cheaper than the Onkyo also. A Yamaha Receiver and 4 Polk speakers. What an amazing sound. The sales person worked very hard too get me the best deals possible on both items. Playing my retro 80's music in the store through the receiver and switching through 7 different speaker selections allowed me to hear the clarity of all the speakers with the music I prefer. The Best Buy brand, Pioneer, Polk and others. When it was all over and done with, the Polk speakers won hands down with the Yamaha Receiver punching out 500 watts. Can't go wrong with this combo. Now I don't have too listen to the neighbors awful selection of music. I just drown it out with my own!!!
