I've only had this item for two weeks. Often when I go to fire up the stereo and turn on the TV, receiver and Blu Ray player - there is no digital sound. If I power everything back off, pull the plug from the outlet in the wall, wait a few seconds and then reconnect the plug into the outlet and power on - it always works. BB has been alerted to the problem and will investigate. At this point, I'm not sure what the problem is. When it does work, it sounds GREAT and has plenty of power to drive the system. It seems that receivers these days have fewer buttons/dials on the front of the unit - and put them in the remote control access instead. It's probably overkill for what I need.

Purchased this with a Harmony remote and new speakers! Omg, sounds like we are in a theater! And so easy to use and to program!

A great high quality receiver for a really good price

Purchased on a buying whim. Shopping for a tv I saw this at a ridiculously low priced receiver. my marantz was very troubled so after a quick recommendation from a sales associate I grabbed it. Honestly I expected to be disappointed, I in fact am NOT disappoint at all and am upgrading the rest of my audio now. I want to hear how this will sound powering an atmos environment. I expect I'll be happy..... remote is fine-crud load of buttons like all receivers, setup-well I'm missing the microphone to setup surround but plug and play is straight forward with lots of user fine tuning available or select the presets. Highly recommend this line of Yamaha, I haven't considered Yamaha since back in the day I had a bunch of car amps from them. The amp is quick, crisp and can push low pass sound. Just started using it so my testing is super limited but worth considering is my take...

Provide steady strong power to my speakers. I use mostly for music but the family loves the surround sound.

Has a lot of bells and whistles. I haven't even begun to use all the stuff it has but what I have used is great. Looks very sleek on my entertainment center. Love it.

Great sound from Yamaha. The Bluetooth is awesome giving me so many options

This has everything you could ask for in a receiver and more. This receiver has never experienced any overheating issues like other brands. It delivers high quality audio and is the best bang for the buck.

Works as advertised. Replaced my exact 4 year old model with this newer model #. Too bad my old one lost its power out amp after only 4 years of minimal usage. Yet I replaced wth the same to keep it easy to reinstall with my home automation system.

Sounds good and the Bluetooth option is cool. There has to be a better way to hook the speaker wires to the back.

I have a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos setup in my game room with the atmos speakers in ceiling. This amp runs my setup perfectly. I have all definitive technology ProMonitor/Center 1000s with Sonance in ceiling speakers and a Def Tech supercube 2000 subwoofer. It sounds pretty amazing. I did try to hook up two subwoofers to the amp but from what i can tell you cant reverse the phase of the subwoofers from the amp itself. The amp treats both as one so both hit at the same time. I may need to do more research to see if its possible to do it. My supercube 2000 doesnt have a reverse phase switch in the back so i cant reverse it from the sub itself. I want to run 2 subs but i would like to have one regular and one phase reversed so until i can figure that out, im stuck with one sub. But the amp itself is great. I did have to cut out the back of my console table to be able to fit the amp/wires and close the front doors of the console. I would measure the depth of whatever you are going to put the amp in, add an inch or 2 to the depth of the amp for the wires especially if your going to use banana plugs on your wires and see if it will fit in your console.

This is a replacement for another Yamaha that was destroyed by lightning. It has excellent features. I love the Yamaha app that allows me to control the unit on any computer or tablet. The auto Ypao balancing feature is amazing and always gets the tone right. My advice, use a tripod to set it up on your sofa or couch. This way the height is right. You will not go wrong with this unit!

I purchased this for my new home theater. Very easy to set up. More options that I know what to do with. Great sound.

This was recommended by my Best Buy/Geek Squad in-home advisor. I tested it out in the store and was very happy about the level of performance. It's a little expensive, but good quality. I wish it got a better AM/FM signal, or that there was a way to relay TV sound out to my patio speakers.

This one replacing 10 years old JVC and I got it because it support all the features I was looking for, sounds really good and I used the auto setup using the provided mic, my only complain is that volume get lower when I change channels and I have to cycle the sur decoder through all option and back to the original option and sound back to normal BTW I contacted the support and waiting to hear back

Great features, easy to set up & prices just right! I couldn’t be happier with this reciever. The zone 2 feature is probably my favorite feature. I now can listen to music in my home gym without having to wear some annoying headphones! I would defiantly recommend this reciever.
