This receiver handles 4K uHD and vintage cd's with clarity and power. Surround is sharp and pungent. Easily scroll thru profile selections for wide variety of sound setups. Powerful set of features yet even a 6th grader could enjoy it.

You never know the true potential of your speakers and the clarity that they could achieve until you have the right receiver. I replaced my 10-year-old Onkyo (system in a box) with the Yamaha. I replaced the speakers years ago but thought I did not make a good decision on my speakers after a critical listening session. However, I chose to keep the speakers anyway. Upon connecting the Yamaha receiver, the difference was astounding. The clarity and detail are amazing. I typically listen at low levels, and there is minimal to no audible distortion. Completely satisfied.

I had the Yamaha Rx-v677 receiver and decided to it this after I bought my Xbox One X Console. It does a great job upscaling to 4k from a 1080p tv and I notice a more crisp sound after immediately connecting it. This receiver is definitely the way to go for anybody looking to upgrade or for entry level surround set ups. My next step is to get a 4k tv in a couple of weeks to truly test its power but right now I'm definitely not disappointed. Great product by Yamaha as always!

This is the first receiver I purchase in 15 years. It was a Yamaha. It did not have Bluetooth are anything close. It still works. So that is why I purchased another Yamaha. This one is loaded with everything I will ever used. It sounds great and has so many features I am still learning how to use it. I am very pleased with this purchase. I bought it on sale and paid more for the old Yamaha . What a great buy.

I was looking for something to upgrade along with my XBOX One X and 4K TV and this does the job fantastically! So easy to set up and tweak to my sound preferences. This is my first Yamaha receiver and I am impressed. This replaced my 9 year old Pioneer Elite, which now resides at the GF house on her new surround sound, and I couldn't be happier. Great sound and awesome to hear things in Atmos and DTS:X. Great Product!

I purchased this receiver to replace a twelve year old Yamaha that met it's demise with a lightening storm despite a highly rated surge protector. Very functional surround and the 7.2 allows me to play into 1 or 2 other rooms using a signal splitter. Programming was easy using he instruction manual which is online rather than included in the packaging which I would prefer. As it was a closeout discontinued model, the price was a bargain.

I love this receiver. I love the iphone app remote with the ability to control the receiver over Wifi. Great sound and many listening modes.

I have purchased about every brand of receiver under $500. Replaced an older Yamaha. By far, this is the best receiver I've owned. Simple to setup & great sound. Thought I would need to replace the speakers and all I needed was a great receiver to bring life to them.

I am only using this as a 5.1 receiver but it does an awesome job.

My prior tuner from the 1980s was a Yamaha and did well but was on its last legs. This receiver makes the TV and movies sound great. It is a great companion to my big screen and works well with my CD player and turntable. Yay

Picked this receiver up on deal of the day and it was a steal. Easy system set up that optimized my speakers. I thought my theater room sounded good before, I didnt realize what I was missing until I put this baby in!

Love this thing! Not sure what the "enhanced" feature is that caused Yamaha to stop producing this model and charge $200 more for the new version, but this works great for me. Easy hook-up and use. Great sound through all 7 speakers!
