Listened to several receivers: Pioneer Elite VSX-LX501, Denon AVR-X4300H and Marantz XR-6011. High resolution music sounded more clean, natural and dynamic on this Yamaha RX-A1060 receiver. Never owned a Yamaha receiver before and so I was very impressed and pleased with this model. I have a large collection of MP3's and this receiver not only improves their sound but it works flawlessly with all my Apple devices. My collection of CD's and SACD's also sound phenomenal through this receiver as well too. The RX-A1060 was an excellent match for my Bowers & Wilkins speakers so this played a major role in my decision to purchasing the Yamaha. Home theater playback in my 4K UHD TV and 4K UHD Blu-Ray player is truly an unbelievable and most immersive experience and this Yamaha RX-A1060 performs flawlessly. The 2 subwoofer outputs plus the Center Channel pre-out are fantastic because I use 2 ground shaking powered subwoofers plus a large Center Channel with an active powered subwoofer in my home theater. Setup is very easy and the GUI is very user friendly. MusicCast works great on my various Apple devices. Very easy to browse and play high resolution music through USB and my network server. This receiver offers multiple DSP surround sound decoders, multi-room playback, built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It does everything I need it to do and it does it flawlessly. Very happy with its performance and price range compared to other comparably equipped receivers.

    Awesome receiver for the money!

I had previously owned the RX-A1030 model. I replaced it with this new RX-A1060 model in order to get full 4K @ 60 frames, HDR, and HDCP 2.2 compliant. This new receiver also upgraded to built in wifi, and Bluetooth etc. This new model sounds stronger and crisper then the older model. I love the simplicity of these Yamaha Aventage receivers! The on screen menus and setup are awesome. This receiver sounds fanstastic, and clear, and dolby atmos and dts-x is a huge bonus. I don't think there is a better receiver on the market for the money, with as many bells and whistles, and with this quality of sound and video. Its a 5 star receiver for sure!

My Yamaha RX-A1060 is only a month or so old but that is long enough to confidently state that it is an excellent receiver and it is far superior to two Dennon receivers I had prior to this purchase. However, I am on my second RX-A1060 because the radio electronics malfunctioned on my first unit and the new replacement did not have a YPAO microphone with it. Best Buy is obtaining a new microphone. Otherwise, the RX-A1060 is in all ways a beautifully functioning receiver.

This product is an excellent balance between an AVR and a stereo amplifier. The sound is superb with an external phono preamp and vinyl. Streaming audio and other digital sources sound surprisingly good. I would buy it again.

Wonderful Multi-Room & Home Theater Receiver

First off I would enthusiastically recommend this receiver. The MusicCast system provides one very easy multi-room configurations imaginable. Paired with the simple to use app for your phone or tablet, you can control your whole system with it. I added the AV Controller app as well so I can control sound details for the watching of movies in the theater section of our house. My wife loves it! She's actually using the system more than I am at this point. Today she was out in our pool area and needed my help, I went out and heard music playing. I was surprised. She just dialed it up on Pandora and was rockin' while she did her chores outside. It's like having Automatic Transmission for your car, makes it that easy to "drive" your home audio. Most people talk about the home theater section, that is awesome. I wanted to focus on the MusicCast. The one significant disappointment is the inability to use the 2nd zone of hdmi separately from the 2nd zone of audio. At least I was unable to configure the system to send an image to my second tv while still retaining the output to that zone to the wired speakers. If I'm wrong, I'd appreciate knowing. It looked like a great feature to me.

This is a GREAT receiver for a medium sized room. It has plenty of power to shake the walls, whether you are rockin’ your favorite Pink Floyd record, or watching your favorite DVD. It streams well over the Bluetooth and has all the music streaming services integrated into it. It is so easy to control with the Yamaha App on my iPad. This is my second Yamaha, and I have been more than happy with both of them.

I was looking at other receivers when I ran across this one on clearance. I had another Yamaha receiver and decided the deal was too good to pass on it. It sounds so good. I am really happy with the purchase.

Fantastic 7.1 AV receiver with Musiccast

This receiver is the hub of our 7.1 Paradigm surround sound system and it works great. It's feature deep, and that means you're going to need to read the manual to get everything set-up correctly, but once it's up and running, the system is fantastic. For full house sound I have the receiver connected to several Musiccast speakers in various rooms, and a WXC-50 recevier in my office, connected to an existing sound system. The whole system for music is typically controlled by by both the Yamaha AV Controller app and the Musiccast app (which links any/all the speakers and sets their volume independently). I also have the entire system controlled by a Logitech Harmony Elite remote, whcih is integrated with an Amazon Echo. "Alexa, turn on TV" starts up our Samsung 4K TV in Smart Hub mode, as well as the Yamaha receiver with the correct input/output mode set-up, and Philips Hue lights set on dim. Really happy to have purchased this Aventage via Best Buy

    Solid A/V Receiver

So my $2500 dollar receiver burnt out on me and I didn't have the budget to replace it with another hi end receiver. The reason why I selected this receiver is that it sounds great. For the price point Pioneer was to bright (treble), Denon did not have enough power, and Onkyo was the one that went bad on me so I won't buy from them again. I'm running full size Martin Logan Motion 40s plus matching center channel and surrounds and in a medium size room this thing can handle it. Plus it has preouts so adding a future Amplifier to the home theater will be on my wish list for additional headroom. I strongly recommend this receiver at the $1000 price point

I've had this receiver for about a month and I am impressed. It was easy to set up and use. Excellent sound. My only complaint is with the lack of a paper manual. It comes with a cd. I downloaded the manual for easier access.

The Yamaha RX-A1060 receiver is an excellent unit. It has many features including Bluetooth. It is easy to play a musical selection from your cell phone or tablet and have it picked up by the receiver. Rear panel connections are well thought out and can handle everything you need. I highly recommend this receiver.

I purchased this to replace an old Sony Receiver I had. The unit has a lot of HDMI ports and being Bluetooth capable is pretty cool for connecting Spotify from an iphone. It would be nice if it were a bit smaller but that's mainly due to my television stand. Overall it's a good receiver but I think I'd purchase one with a little more wattage if I could do it again.

The DAC in this unit is phenomenal. I've used Denon, Marantz (same company), and Onkyo before and while they make great products this unit is in another league (for it's price class). It makes my Monitor Audio Platinum speakers sound phenomenal. It's paired with an Emotiva amp. Highly recommended.
