Level-5 are crafters of amazing games such as the Professor Layton franchise! This is their attempt at the Monster catching and battling simulation genre! It has tons of style, and equal amounts substance! It's not a Pokemon killer, but it gives you an interesting approach with a different vision!

Though I have no connection to Yo-Kai nor watched the show, I have found the game quite enjoyable and fun. Yes, it does have some similarities to Pokemon, but the gameplay is definitely different and unique enough to be interesting.

Yokai Watch has a lot of personality. The main premise of the game is to go around town catching yokai (basically ghosts) in order to do battle with them and solve quests. The designs of the yokai are very unique, and the dialogue of the game is very endearing. The game's story is divided into episodes, with each episode having a small problem that is usually solved by the end of the episode. The game also features a lot of side content in the form of quests, which usually involve defeating a certain yokai, befriending a certain yokai, or obtaining a specific item. My only complaint is that befriending the yokai is left almost completely up to chance. As a result, befriending yokai (particularly the rare ones) can be a long and frustrating process.

YoKai Watch has been compared to Pokemon many times, but really only resembles it on the surface. Its a much different game when you start exploring and really is a lot of fun. Level 5 always makes great games.

Featuring a quaint Japanese life, this game is about as fun as it gets. It's just all-around comfy.

I like yo kai watch a lot and if you like Pokémon you might like yo kai watch. I like the story and all the yo kai. The only problem is that you sometimes need to upgrade your yo kai watch to continue the story. And the problem with that is that it is hard for you to know where to go because you need to beat yo kai.

Yo-kai Watch is a great game for all ages. Worth the money.

Being a level-5 fan, Pokemon fan, and the Yokai Watch Anime fan, I had to plck up this game! It's very slow in the beginning cuz you don't rlly know what you're doing, but it gets more addicting as you play. It wasn't as memorable as Pokemon but it was a good change of pace.

Bought this for my daughter. It is not one huge game but a bunch of mini games, certainly something for everyone. Got this with my Best Buy Gamers club and it knocked an additional 20 percent off of the price that plus free shipping made this a no-brainer.

The Pokémon destroyer is finally making its way to the west. Its been out for years in Japan.

Before seeing this game on the shelf I knew nothing about it other than what the displays and demos showed me. From playing the in store demo I was instantly hooked. I thought it would maybe be a short, sweet 3DS game but it turned into a 40+ hour journey with beautiful artwork, amazing storytelling, and amazing, fun, wonderful characters. I wish I could buy it and play it all over again. 5/5 stars, absolutely perfect game that could last you a long time.

This is a fun game that couples with a fun anime series, both of my older kids love this IP.
