Bought this game for my 6 year old. He absolutely loves it and really enjoys playing this game. Perfect for his age and fun for several hours. He has been playing this game more often than any of his other Switch games and we have Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario, and Smash Bros. Definitely recommend buying for younger kids and even older kids alike.

So the Yoshi game that had been hyped ever since the Switch's nascent period has finally arrived: Yoshi's Crafted World. It had been several years since Yoshi's Woolly World for Wii U (which has since received a 3DS remake) so Yoshi fans were glad to have something to which they could look forward. Did it live up to the hype? I'd say yes, but it doesn't exceed expectations. Then again, I wasn't expecting it to. If you're a fan of the Yoshi's Island style of gameplay, this game will add an extra dimension to it and is a lot of fun. Just don't expect it to blow your mind or anything; it's a Yoshi game, no more and no less. If that's what you like, it is definitely a worthy title for Switch owners. A note about co-op: It can get pretty challenging with 2 players getting in each other's way going through a level. You keep eating each other or hopping on each other's back. Sometimes those are good strategies, but usually they're unplanned annoyances. Just something to bear in mind. Co-op can still be a lot of fun when you're aware of these annoyances and can plan around them. To veteran players: The default button layout is fine, but there is an option to switch to the SNES controls, which were more familiar. One more thing: If you have a Yarn Yoshi amiibo, you may want to dig it out. ;-)

The appeal of this is not in the difficulty (it’s incredibly easy), but in the charm of its art design. I’m amazed at the level of creativity it took to design every level in this game. I love it!
Relaxing but surprisingly tough! Delightful Detail

I picked this game up as a fan of the series. I was expecting a light, easy-going platformer and that is pretty much what this is. A lot is changed from the series' standard formula, and I'll address that at the end.
In terms of the gameplay: It is a platformer, you play as yoshi and run through various themed stages, jumping or tossing eggs to progress. Each stage is very linear and 2-3 stages make up a "world" which has a consistent them across stages. The stages can be done quickly or slowly. Personally, I'm for the slow pace because there's an impressive amount of detail to enjoy each level. Beating each level should be straightforward, but there are several collectibles that require a little exploration and skill to collect. There are, unique to this version, side quests where you're tasked with going into the level and finding an object. I've found some of these objects surprisingly tough to find. These quests add a lot to replay value to levels.
The characters in the game are nice and friendly, I find them to be uplifting.
In breaks from the series:
- Side Quests
- Instead of 6 worlds with 8 levels each, there are several smaller worlds with 2-3 levels. These smaller worlds are significantly more detailed than in prior games and there's a larger variety of stage, which is something I was initially hesitant about but see it as a welcome change.
- The way eggs are tossed is now position via the joystick / cursor, instead of oscillating up and down. I dislike this because it takes longer to throw sometimes, but it's a needed change for the gimmicks of this game.
- Woolly World had badges which assisted players through levels, instead Crafted World has costumes (which are fun to dress Yoshi up in) that simply add additional health (very helpful).

I really enjoy all the Yoshi games, as well as the ones that don’t have Baby Mario on Yoshi. This game reminds me of my first Yoshi game, without Baby Mario, on the Nintendo 64. All Yoshi games have been very unique when looking at how they were made. This game is also really calm in a good way.

This was a great game to enjoy with my 4 year old. It's fun to play and the basics are very simple. If things ever get too tough for your little one (or your well meaning in-laws) there's piggyback feature that lets them jump on your back and get carried through the level, taking potshots at enemies and scenery as they go.
Its cute and fun with exactly the amount of corny-ness you'd expect from a Mario-title. I grabbed it on sale when I picked up Super Mario Wonder (also great kid co-op), but I wouldn't have been mad if I'd found it back when it was full price. 5-Stars.

The game is great overall. Fun and perfect for children with the easier mode, but still engaging enough for older players. Each level packs in enough to engage everyone.
The one gripe is the multiplayer functionality. Specifically, “automatically” jumping on your partners back. Read on other forums how horribly frustrating this was and brushed it off. Finally playing it validated everything I had read about it. Not great, but honestly not sure how they cover using that feature for all and not have it too automatic.

Anyone who has played a Yoshi game won't be getting anything revolutionary with this game - it's more of the same, just polished for a more powerful console. That being said, Yoshi's Crafted World is a smart and surprisingly complex platformer that offers up unique platforming and puzzle solving that keeps the game fresh. The Poochy stages unfortunately feel more like a rehash of levels you've already played that were put in just to artificially extend the length of an already short game. The game is short (as to be expected with Yoshi games) but it does a good job of keeping you engaged throughout and I had a lot of fun with it.

When asked what game they wanted for their Nintendo for a long trip we were taking both kids said they wanted Yoshi's Crafted World. In a nutshell the game is the search for gems that came from the Sundream Stone after a couple of characters tried to steal the stone. The kids played it the entire time we were in the car during our trip which tells me they lived it.

Very good game that reminds me of the SNES game Super Mario World 2, Yoshi’s Island. There’s a difficulty option for “mellow” gameplay that makes it even easier to just relax and enjoy the peacefulness the game creates. The levels do start to get a little more frustrating and some of the puzzles can be maddening but it’s still worth the play through.
There’s replay value if you’re into collecting everything. You can run reverse through levels to find dogs and beat the speed trial. There are collectible costumes that you can purchase with coins along the way.
Overall, the entertainment value is high and it’s a fun little game with a decent amount of content to pass the time when you’re just chillin. Worth the buy for the throwback to the SNES Yoshi’s Island game. Which was one of my favorites when I was younger.

Yoshi is my #1! So this game is a must have. I’m one of those people that care about finding all the flowers, getting all the red coins and having full hearts when completely each level- which takes longer to complete but that doesn’t bother me. I also enjoy the reverse levels and finding the poochy pups. I just wish Nintendo made an Amiibo for this game!

Game looks really good and very creative. Controls are good and bosses challenging. Only complaint some of the stages are difficult to navigate. But overall good

I was hesitant to get this because it looks like it's made for kids, but I'm so glad I did (for context I'm 29 years old). It is a great game for kids but I still really enjoy it. It's fairly simple and easy but has some challenging components and the graphics and imagery are really amazing for a Yoshi game.
I would recommend this to a friend

Love the simple gameplay and make me remember a little bit Yoshi's Island
