Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the superb camera quality, ease of use, and stability of the Typhoon H Hexacopter Pro with Intel® RealSense™ Technology. Many also appreciate the drone's obstacle avoidance capabilities, although some users wish for longer battery life and improved range. The flight performance is generally praised, but a few users experienced control issues. Overall, the positive feedback on image quality and ease of operation outweighs the concerns about battery life and range.

This is a great drone, BUT, you crash it is expensive!! This is first hand experience speaking. Take your time, do not get over confident or you'll pay the price. This drone practically flies itself. The camera is great, just wish it could zoom. Lots of possibilities with this unit. Can't wait to try out the FPV goggles AFTER I slowly get the hang of things again.

Drone flys so beautiful! I love it! Had a crash, called Yuneec and they had me send them my broken bird. (Broke 2 arms and cracked the top body case and ripped the camera off). $177 for the repair and sent the drone right back to me. Great quality, price and service. I'm part of the Yuneec family

Great Videography Drone - Do Your Research.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Let me start off with purchasing any drone you should take your time and do your research. I spent over a month researching both Yuneec and DJI to review their products relative to my needs and I choose the Yuneec Typhoon H Pro and here is why. Research - While product reviews give a wealth of information I also wanted to connect with people who were currently using the H Pro and get some feedback. Having done some research I found forums for both the Typhoon H Pro and the DJI Inspire. There I was able to connect with both communities and get a real understanding of what the products really had to offer, their successes, and some of their short comings. During my time reviewing the Typhoon H Pro I wanted to make sure the company also stood behind its product. Having called DJI support multiple times with a list of questions I never seemed to get a straight answer. I did the same with Yuneec’s customer support (which I didn't have to sit on hold, they called me back) and answered all of my questions throughly. This reinforced what I had read in the forums, that their support was nothing less than top notch. Of the list of needs and what I was looking for this was the deciding factor in why I chose the Typhoon H Pro over the Inspire 1 v2. The Product Build & Quality - The Typhoon H Pro really is a comprehensive package. It’s a stand alone system that doesn't require me to attach my phone or tablet to it to fly. From what I read with DJI’s Inspire it’s recommended you use a cellular connected device. So I would need to get a tablet (I like larger screens), add it to my data plan, and this adds to my overall cost. Build quality is evident when you open up the backpack for the H Pro. Its light but you can see it’s built to a very high standard. The controller is heavy, large, and very complex but has everything within one system I don’t find it awkward to hold or unbalanced. The additional packaged charger (Includes a 12V car charger), cables, SD card (does have an SD card), and two batteries all fit well into the backpack of the H Pro and will keep your gear organized. Flight & Video- Note: Make sure you update the firmware on the Typhoon before your first flight if the firmware if older, double check their website for the latest releases. There wasn't anything in the packaging to suggest to do that, like a “STOP Update your Firmware”. The H Pro flies like a dream but take it SLOW on your first flight. The documentation out there isn’t the best but the forums and research really set me up to understand what to expect and how to fly the drone. The first flight I had was a windy day with steady wind over 20mph and it’s incredibly stable. I recommend taking each flight and breaking down 2 settings or controls to perfect because of the learning curve with the controller. Video footage is remarkable, it really did a great job. There are a tremendous amount of video settings but make sure you configure your settings for that particular flight, white balance etc. Tip: when you peel off the sticker on the camera lens make sure you use a microfiber cloth to clean it off. Unless you look closely in a glare there is a smudge or residue from that sticker on there after you peel it off. Closing - The Typhoon H Pro really is a fantastic product and I can see where they built it to expand future camera systems. Yuneec has done a great job really focusing on the hardware and has brought the software in line to continually perfect the H Pro. Lastly my only advise is to take it slow there is a lot to learn. It’s a complex system but It’s well supported and has a great community surrounding it.

I started with the 4K and I love it! Flying this beast is phenomenal! If you have never flown before, take it nice and slow. The videos and photos are absolutely stunning. You have Journey mode, this is pretty cool when taking action shots, follow me is easy and convenient to use, and watch me keeps the camera on you. There are so many different features to choose from in Smart Mode. The Typhoon H with Real Sense has a lot to offer and you don't want to miss out on any of it. Go to the manufacturers website and absorb all the information you can. Like with any technology you do have to constantly check for updates. I do this with all my technology including my cellphones, computers, tablets and a drone isn't any different. I wish I could post some videos, but a couple of pictures will do.

Been flying RC planes, Heli's and other things for over 30 years. Drones have been advancing so much year by year, and have gone though around 5 of them in the past 5 years. So here is an honest review. This drone is awesome in so many ways. The upgrades help by they still need to work on some items. To set up way points for it to follow is un-matched by any other drone. To have a tablet on the X-mitter is perfect. No need for your own phone or tablet to see what is going on. Updating it has been made very easy. The camera is as good as my GoPro 4 Silver. The gamble is nothing less than perfect. The 360 degree viewing is unmatched by other drones. Easy to fly, quick install rotors was the best idea I have seen yet, meaning no tools to install. Comes with a backpack that not only keeps items together, by transporting it is easy and compact. Tech support actually answers the phone, and a person can help you, as I never had this before on any RC device EVER! Now that was to good, as for the bad. I have/had 2 issues with the unit. So far tech support resolved one of them, it was a binding issue. The 2nd issue is the drone once in the air does not always want to come down on command. At one time it kept going up-hit 250 feet and I had only 6 minutes of battery left, thinking in 6 minutes I will be taking home a few dozen pieces of plastic. Finally it responded and came down in time. The home button did nothing - thinking I did something wrong. 2nd time up it seemed OK, but it was a shorter flight, too cold to fly. My 3rd flight in a smaller area did the same, only 20 feet in the air but would not come down. Back to tech support, see if they can resolve this. The warranty is 60 days, so time is an issue. Other than that, this is one of the best thought out drones I have ever flown.

I give this product a 8 out of 10. It's a couple steps behind dji's phantom 4 but for the most part it is a great starter drone. I haven't had any major issues yet. Due to weather I haven't got to fly it as much as I would like to. But from the time I have got with it it's been great! The one piece of advice I have is learn to fly it in a completely open area in angle mode first. If you aren't in an open area then use obstacle avoidance in smart mode or you will crash it into something I promise. Take your time with it and learn slowly. Also make sure all firmware is updated before you do any flying. Other then those things it has been great for me I'm using it as my main drone for an aerial photography business right now and it has been great. I love the controller platform on the typhoon much better then the phantom. And the pro package comes with a really nice well built backpack! But if you want something a little more sturdy structure wise then go with any dji product. They stand behind their products a little better. The choice is yours...

This was my first drone purchase. I had been watching this product for a while and finally decided to get one. This Typhoon H is very easy to fly. And easy to learn how to take great aerial footage right out of the box. There is quite a bit to learn to make the most out of this aircraft. In a few minutes you are flying and taking great pictures. As you progress in your skill you will be rewarded by learning how to fly better and more precisely. It't amazing how responsive it is to your commands.

This is my first ever drone, I've read lots of reviews and product description’s before buying this one.. It's easy to fly if you read the documentation and take it slow and easy. Don't try to learn everything in one flight. As for the product, it's very delicate so you should treat it with kid gloves or things will start to break. I have over 30 flights since I bought this drone, each flight is a learning experience. If you are looking for great video and still pictures, this is the drone for you.. It's costly but like the saying goes you get what you pay for. Personally, I think it's worth every dollar I've spend but it would be nice if the accessories, batteries and other items would be less expensive. Although, if you shop around on line the cost very quit a lot.

After much research on higher end prosumer drones, I opted for the Typhoon H Pro over the DJI Mavic Pro and Phantom 4. I'm a novice when it comes to operating/controlling drones. We had a few low end consumer drones that usually ended up in a tree, or on a roof or vanished into the lord knows where. We wanted a drone that we could use for action sports (skiing, ATV's, hunting, water sports, etc) that would give us a much better result than the GoPros we have been using as of late. Let's first talk about the remote, the unit included with this drone is legendary. It makes controlling all the functions on the drone intuitive and you do not have to utilize your phone or tablet, which is a HUGE positive. I find the range, especially on the video feed to be lacking, but there are aftermarket solutions to increase remote range. The picture/video quality is phenomenal, provided you have enough light. The gimbal is fantastic, it works as it should and i've flown the drone at 1300ft in 25-30MPH gusts with a rock solid and more importantly, stable video feed. Quality, this is the question mark. After 10 days of ownership and nearly 30 hrs of light time I had an engine failure right on take off. One of the motors literally when up in a ball of smoke and then the drone took a less than graceful landing which resulted in a broken prop. More importantly I was also left with a drone that was no longer functional Best Buy was awesome however and quickly replaced it with very little questions asked. That being the case, I am unsure about the over all longevity of the drone, but it is an electronic device and all electronic devices are prone to failures. I have yet to use the Wizard remote so I can not comment on its functionality. Overall, this is a fantastic drone for those that aren't overly worried about carting along a large piece of equipment. If travel space is at a premium, look at the DJI Mavic Pro, if you have the space and want a drone that is arguable equipped with a much better gimbal, this is your choice. (the size and LED lights un the underside makes navigating it much easier as well).

My first drone but wanted something that had some redundancy in flight controls and an integrated package when it came to video. Granted it does not appear to have the distance out of the box the Phantom 4 does but I would rather be able to keep the drone in visible range anyway per FCC rules. Great drone, easy to use but read the instructions twice and keep them handy as there is a lot to learn on this drone. Have fun and enjpy!

I have owned the the Typhoon H Pro for five days at the time of writing this review. In that time, Yuneec has released new firmware for it providing additional options. Even now, they are continuing to make this drone better. I have been flying RC for years. In the last year, I have gotten back into the hobby and began flying drones. I started with a toy grade drone, and then moved up to an intermediate camera platform, the XK X500. I flew it for about 6 months, honing my drone flying skills. At that point, I was ready to move up to a top quality drone, and I am very happy with my choice to go with the Yuneec Typhoon H. I went with the Pro version because of the extras it included. This hexacopter is amazingly quiet. The ST16 controller is certainly different from other controllers, but I find it to be easy to adjust to, and it is a top quality controller. This was a huge leap in quality over my previous drone, and I am still only scratching the surface of what it can do. The video quality is excellent as can be seen here: https://youtu.be/YZimzfOr1b0 Give the Typhoon H a try, you will not regret it.

I love the fact that with this drone system I don't have to worry about using my phone as it has the tablet built in to the controller already. Second I don't have to worry if a prop motor goes out as it can fly on 5 instead of the 6 it has. It is a very stable flying machine no doubt with an awesome camera as well. It is well put together and as my friend with a drone from another manufacturer always remarks when I bring it out; "It looks so bad*ss" :) And yes, it does, and functions that way as well!
