Broke within the first three or four days with a 3 foot drop onto floor in living room. Extremely disappointing. I had the same glass on my iPhone 13 Pro Max for four years and never had a problem. Don’t know what happened to their quality. When first glass had to be replaced by BB not sure same glass was installed I will recommend as this is the first problem with Zagg glass and has worked flawlessly in the past.

Easy Application and Good Privacy Protection

I have been using screen protectors on my iPhones for quite a while and, when possible, typically opt for a protector that also provides some level of privacy protection. This is the first screen protector I have seen that provides protection not only from horizontal prying (left and right of the screen), but vertical prying (top and bottom) as well. I was really looking forward to seeing just how well it works. To begin, installation was very easy. I have used some protectors in the past that were a pain to install and always seemed to have dust or bubbles under them. I did not have any of those problems with this protector. The application device is built into the packaging material for the protector, which was a little different from what I was expecting. (Usually, there is a separate plastic applicator that I have seen used in the past.) Still... While it was a little different given my experience, the applicator worked just fine and the screen protector installed without any problems. (I did use the included materials to clean the phone first. Along those lines, one of the things I really appreciated is that they included a full-size dust remover. Other companies have a dust removal sticker that is about the size of a half-dollar and those stickers are somewhat useless in my experience because they generate a static charge that pushes dust around. I cannot tell you how many times I thought I had all the dust removed only to find small specks stuck under the screen protector after the installation. This full-size dust sticker that covered the entire glass of the phone was really awesome. This is something all companies should include in their kits.) After the installation, the screen protector provided privacy from all angles, not just left-to-right. Such privacy screens seem to dim the brightness of the screen just a bit, which I suppose is just part of the price one pays for having that level of privacy, and this protector was no different. With that being said, that dimming effect was no worse than any other privacy screen protector I have used in the past. Thus far, I have been using the protector for about a month with no problems (no breaking or cracks). The privacy screening works great as well. I have used other competitor brands before and the full privacy protection (not just left-to-right), along with the inclusion of the full-size dust removal sticker, really took this one over the top for me. When it eventually comes time to replace the unit, I will definitely purchase another one from Zagg.

New iPhone time also becomes new accessory time, and manufacturers have to keep coming up with something new just like phone manufacturers do. The Zagg 4 Way Privacy XTR Glass screen protector is something a bit novel. We've all seen privacy screen protectors before, however a lot of those previous gen products would provide good privacy in one axis, for example, off angle viewing to the side. The Zagg 4-Way provides privacy in all off-axis viewing scenarios - whether you're above, below, or looking to the side, the screen is effectively black unless you are looking straight on. This provides excellent privacy in public situations where other privacy screen protectors may have allowed those taller than you or maybe sitting above you a bit to see the contents of your screen. So far, durability has been great - no cracks, chips, or scractches that I can see. The image is also very clear through the screen protector. With all that being said, as good as the privacy protection is, that's not the real win here. The real win is the installation system - this is a walk off grand slam. There's a stiff cardboard application device that lines up the phone perfectly with the screen protector. You simply place the screen protector in the cardboard applicator, place your phone in, and pull down on the plastic strip that exposes the adhesive on the screen protector. Installation took about 15 seconds and I've never had a screen protector this straight or dust free - and never with this ease of installation. The other part I like is the installation applicator is made out of cardboard - no plastics that will end up in a landfill - this is completely recyclable. Though this is probably the best screen protector experience I've had since screen protectors became a must-have accessory, the one downside to this protector is it seems that you do give up some screen brightness in favor of the privacy protection. It's not a deal breaker, but I do find myself turning up the brightness more often - and with the new iPhone 17 Pro Max having a screen rated at 3,000 nits of brightness, it's definitely noticable. However, this would not prevent me from selecting this screen protector again.

Screen protector cracked on the edge in less Han a month. I paid $60 because it says free replacements for the lifetime of the device. When you go on the Zagg website to get a replacement, they replace it with a lower screen protector. If I want the same one I purchased “4 way privacy” I have to pay $15, otherwise I get a regular “no privacy” screen protector.

This screen protector cracked immediately after I applied it and smoothed out the bubbles. I followed the instructions exactly, and it still split right away. For the price, I expected something durable, but this was a complete waste of $45. Extremely disappointing quality.

Probably the worst privacy screen.. There is a reason why most manufacture don't do 4 way privacy filter... You can only see if the phone is faced directly... so sometimes it will be hard to see if you mount it on your car or bike. They should bring old 2 way filter back...

With this Zagg screen protector you get screen protection while also protecting your personal information from prying eyes! My girlfriend is a realtor so she is always interacting with a lot of people so keeping her information private is important to her and that’s why she wanted one of these instead of the regular model. Installing these are extremely easy and even if you’ve had trouble with other glass screen protectors, Zaggs new installation tool makes it to where you can’t mess it up. Unlike some cheaper screen protectors, touch response is just like the factory glass. Zagg claims these are 5x stronger tempered glass which you hope you never have to test but if you do, you have free lifetime replacements with only having to pay shipping to get it replaced. This alone is enough for me to choose Zagg over cheaper models. If you’re looking to protect your privacy along with your screen and want something that gives you factory touch response, the Zagg XTR screen protector is the obvious choice.

The tinted privacy screen made it impossible to see the screen; I only used it for a week before I threw it away. The installation tool complicated the process and applied the screen protector crookedly.

    Nice, But Dims the Screen

The Zagg 4-Way Privacy Screen Protector for iPhone 17 Pro Max is a very nice screen protector which offers 4-Way privacy, simple installation, good screen protection, and a lifetime warranty. One of my favorite things about Zagg products is the lifetime warranty. If the screen ever cracks or scratches, they'll send you a new one. It's one of the reasons I tend to stick to Zagg products when it comes to screen protectors. Installation of the screen protector was about as simple as it comes now-a-days. Although, I think I prefer the kind of applicators where you can see the whole process. This one is more of a cardboard box and you can't see the phone or screen protector when it's being applied. I pressed on the areas it said to press for as long as it said, and still, when I took the phone out of the box, it looked like the protector had only just begun to adhere to the phone. I ended up with some pretty gnarly bubbles as a result. I spent a good 10 minutes working them out, and was left with about 4 small stubborn bubble that I just couldn't get. However, to my surprise, over the next couple of days, those bubbles had completely disappeared. So overall, while I was a bit nervous about the installation process, it actually worked exactly as it was supposed to. Once on, the first thing I noticed was how dim it made the screen look. It's really quite noticeable and is taking some getting used to. I'm actually not 100% sure how I feel about it. The rest of the screen protector is great. It feels really nice, almost smoother than the original screen. It offers nice protection. And the privacy feature works great. If you're not staring directly head on at the screen, it really is completely black. Which actually had some unintended consequences. Like taking a selfie from above, not as easy. Sharing your phone screen with someone, takes a little more work. Just keep these types of things in mind if you're considering the privacy screen. These little issues I can learn to live with. The dimness however, I'm not so sure. There's a tiny sliver of the screen that isn't completely covered if you look at the phone from the side, and this is when you can see just how much the screen is actually dimmed. If you don't absolutely need the privacy feature, I would stick to non privacy protectors. However, if you really need/want the privacy feature, just keep in mind that it does significantly dim the screen.
