This is a beautiful looking hood that has quite a bit of power. The lines of it are lovely and we are very happy with the way it looks. There are a few things that really make this hood one you might want to avoid. Here’s my list:
1. Your hands must be COMPLETELY dry to turn on or off the hood. ANY moisture will make the buttons ignore your fingers. Can you imagine why this might be a problem for a kitchen appliance? Countless times already, I’ve tried to sufficiently dry my hands (and failed) grabbing a towel to use it to touch the buttons. This is just completely unacceptable.
2. The labeling of the buttons looks like it is stamped into the metal. It’s not. They are water soluable decals that slide off after you’ve used the hood for a bit. (See the photo below. Only one decal is still present, the down arrow. And it has slid around). This is a super crappy way to be cheap in manufacturing and is beyond unacceptable.
3. This hood sounds like an airplane taking off in your kitchen at high setting. The good news is it moves a lot of air. The bad news? WHAT? I CAN”T HEAR YOU?
I recommend that you keep looking at other hoods. The shortcuts they took to save money on this hood make me wonder what’s going to go wrong next.
