A Definite Must See Movie!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie from a factual standpoint is an excellent account of the bombing which occurred during the summer of 1996 at Olympic Park in Atlanta GA. Paul Hauser gave an outstanding performance in his role as Security Guard Richard Jewell who although initially hailed as a hero by the News Media that saved numerous lives became the FBI's number one suspect. The reason for this was two-fold, an over zealous Reporter Kathy Scruggs portrayed by Olivia Wilde and the conduct of the FBI agent in charge of the Investigation Tom Shaw, portrayed by Jon Hamm, who relied almost entirely upon profiling rather than the basic principles of criminal investigation. Kathy Bates also gave a heartfelt performance as Jewells mother. Definitely one of Clint Eastman's best movie productions!

A Story That Shouldn't Happen To Anyone
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.RICHARD JEWELL is based on a true story about a part time security guard working during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia when he discovers a suspicious looking bag left behind by someone and he takes the precaution of evacuating the site before the bomb inside the bag goes off. At first he's hailed as a hero, before the press turn on him, permanently ruining his life. In today's media-hyped age where anyone can point a finger of someone and label them guilty without evidence, this film is a sobering reminder of how far we have descended as a society.

One of the best movies of 2019
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Clint Eastwood has been on a winning streak with the last couple movies he's done (The Mule, Gran Torino, American Sniper), and this just adds to his directorial highlights. Based on the true story of the Atlanta bombings, the movies paints a solid picture of how the media effected Richard's life, including his mothers, after being blamed for the event. Great performances all around; why Paul Walter Hauser wasn't nominated for an Oscar is beyond me, and Sam Rockwell is always a highlight. Kathy Bates, who plays Richard's mother, is a good as ever.

The best movie of a lifetime
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best movie that Clint Eastwood had made. I really enjoy watching his movie because you can feel the passion and the in depth of the movie. I lived through this movie because I was there when it happened and never thought that is was Richard that did this to Atlanta. If you have not seen this movie please go and get it because Clint actually put you in this movie regardless where lived and where on that day if you where old enough when it happen. This is a must see movie

An enlightening view of how media can destroy
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most Eastwood directed films try to get to the guts of the plot right away, and as the title says, it's a good inside look on how the media and misinformation can destroy a person, or turn them from good guy to bad guy at the drop of a hat. But then again, that has been going on since the birth of the country, there are no unbiased reporters anymore, this just tells a story depicted from Eastwood and his conversant experience with the guy while he was alive. This will get you to realize even the FBI gets it wrong, as they have many times. Good flick.

Richard Jewell Blu-Ray
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A powerfully sobering story (drama), 'Richard Jewell' reminds me of how current events won't always be portrayed accurately by corporate media or news organizations. I found the pace and tone of RJ to be similar to other Clint Eastwood's films. (He has directed both 'Gran Torino' and 'Sully'.) Personally, I don't have the best A/V set up. The one part where this could make a difference is crucial scene at Centennial Park (or the brief flashback to it). The movie is heavy in dialogue.

ATL Olympics Tragedy History
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The film started off weak but it didn’t take long for the story to pick up. I recall the day this happened; how everyone thought Jewell was a hero (and he was) then everyone turning against him. Heartbreaking story but ultimately the end result(s) were revealed. Also the extras are fantastic- there’s only 2 short/brief supplements, but worth it. Highly Recommend

A Moving True Story!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding film! I defy anyone to watch this movie and not be moved. All of the acting and character portrayals are captivating. You will go through a range of emotions but, in the end, one of those emotions will be the satisfaction of having watched it! IMO, Clint Eastwood's best directed film. I buy and watch a lot of movies and this is one of the very best. FYI, the 4K UHD is worth the extra $$$.
