A: You would need a ring base station. You would then be able to control the sensor with the ring app on your phone.- A: Only if they know where the sensor is positioned on the inside of the window. If they can figure this out, they are getting in no matter what
Q: What is the difference between 1st and 2nd Gen? (2 answers)

All Ring Alarm 1st and 2nd generation Ring Alarm security devices are compatible with the Alarm Pro, including Contact Sensors, Motion Detectors, Keypads and Range Extenders. You can also use Ring Alarm accessories, including Flood & Freeze Sensors, Smoke & CO Listeners, and Panic Buttons. You will get all Ring Alarm features, including Shared and Guest Users, alerts and notifications, and linked devices. Furthermore, you can also enroll in professional monitoring with SOS, Duress code, and customized police response. A Ring Protect Pro subscription plan is required to enroll in professional monitoring.
