Q: QuestionI have a ring doorbell can I buy the solar powered spot light wireless to use
Asked by Mary.
- A:Answer Hello Mary, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your inquiry. Yes, you can have a Ring Video Doorbell and a Solar Powered Smart light. Yes. Ring Bridge is the central hub that integrates Ring Smart Lights, Motion Sensors, and Transformers into your Ring system. Bridge connects to the Ring app using your home wifi network and connects to other Ring Smart Lighting products using a proprietary long-range communication protocol. Without Ring Bridge, Ring Smart Lights function only as standard motion-sensing lights. With a Bridge, you can control whole groups of lights at once and be notified via the Ring app when any light or Motion Sensor senses movement. It also lets you leverage the lighting and motion sensing features of Ring Smart Lights to enhance your Ring Doorbells and Security Cameras. For example, if you’re subscribed to Ring Protect, your Ring Doorbell can begin recording video as soon motion is detected by your Pathlight near the curb. This provides footage that captures motion events earlier. Q: QuestionDo you need the bridge to use this?
Asked by Razziel.
- A:Answer Hello Bixarazziel, Good question! Yes, for full functionality and control through the Ring App, a Ring Bridge would be required. The Ring Bridge is the central point for connecting all Ring Smart Lighting products. It enables smart lighting control from anywhere using the Ring app and lets Ring Smart Lighting products interact with other Ring products for enhanced security. Without a Ring Bridge, your Solar Floodlight would only function as a motion activated light. For any additional installation questions or set up concerns, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/. Thank you, Alexis with Ring
