I'm on the way making my home smarter. All my lights, the audio systems, TV, receiver, speakers, my home theater system now can be controlled by voice. The only problem that I have struggled for a long time is I still unable to control my PC system in the way I want. I have 4 differences sources (PC, android box, PS4, Macbook) in my bedroom which are connected to the same monitor and to the same speaker system (AudioEngine). My problem is I have to manual make an adjustment each time I change the source and the audio system isn't able to change automatically. For example, If I want to use the PS4, I have to manually switch to the HDMI port 2 on my monitor and choose the input optical for my audio system on the app. And when I want to use the computer I have to switch back the HDMI 1, the input line-in for my sound system. Sometimes it makes me crazy because of the inconvenience. And this product is the perfect piece for my situation since it can compatibility with Harmony Hub as well as Alexa and Google Home. I love the compatibility between these products. Now I connecting all my sources to this HDMI switched hub, and all those sources are connected to my AudioEngine speaker (through the Denon receiver- Heos Link DS2). The harmony hub + Denon receiver + Rocketfish HDIM hub work very well together. Putting all 4 differences sources into 1 monitor and 1 audio systems. Now I just grab the Harmony remote and choose the mode I want to use (PC, PS4, macbook) or just simply ask Alexa to turn on PC, turn on PS4. It automatically changes the HDMI port on my monitor and chooses the right sound input that I set up for each source.

I had heard from some reviews, that this didn't work correctly with the PS4 system... I have had this now for roughly a month & it continues to work perfectly with the PS4 in one port, and the Xbox One X in another!!! For those who might have had issues with their PS4, the only thing I can say that maybe I have done differently, is that the PS4 cable that comes with the system isn't that great of one & I had purchased a higher end one roughly 6 months prior to buying this... maybe that's the cause, so I highly recommend if having that issue, but a high quality 4k HDMI cord hh replace the one that came with your PS4 system... as for the Xbox One X, that cord is already a higher end one & shouldn't need anything better. Before anyone asks... I'm using this with our 65 inch 4K Visio TV... not that that should make any difference tho. Hope this helps answer any concerns... good luck to you all with your switch! Oh... & the ONLY problem I have with this 4 port Switch... is the dang remote is way too cheap!

This device absolutely does what it is supposed to. Setup and operation are both very user friendly. My only issue with the device is that it has an input on the front. As if we don't have enough cables running all over the place with our systems. I'm using all four inputs for my device so unfortunately, I do need to use this input. Having a cable sticking out of the front of the device not only looks bad, it causes the unit to be crooked in my system. I'm an accountant so I'm a little picky and would prefer the unit sit straight like my other devices. This bothers me so much, I'll probably replace it with a device that only has the inputs and output on the rear panel. Other than that however, the unit is well built and easily worth the price.

I purchased this product after picking up a new alienware gaming tower (I had previously purchased an ASUS Rog 20 gtx 970 about three years back which was great for gaming but when it became both my work tower and the gaming tower heat became a problem for a system being used sixteen hours a day). With two towers and no desire to have separate monitors I picked up the rocketfish switcher box. It's easy to set, up with four total outputs hdmi ports. You can go less expensive, but I've liked using rocketfish cables and since I was connecting a 1080gtx and a 970gtx tower to the same monitor I thought it was worth it to go 4k. No problems so far. Switching between inputs is easy via either the front of the switch box or with a remote (however the remote gets touchy at about ten feet away so make sure the box is unobstructed if you're doing an entertainment center hook up between multiple gaming consoles). It does need one open wall outlet space for the power adapter, so figure that into your logistics. Now I just need to find a good usb switcher box so I can stop swapping keyboards.

    A switch that works

Here’s the problem. I had two mini computers with only HDMI outputs and a monitor with one HDMI input. How do I connect both computers to the 2560 x 1440 resolution monitor? I thought this would be rather simple. Wouldn’t you think? I first tried a passive (no external power) HDMI switch. The screen blanked out so many times using either computer, that it was completely useless. The switch even said it would work up to 4K resolution. I then tried an HDMI to DVI adapter for one computer since there was a DVI input as well. The adapter said it was good to 4K resolution. Well, it worked but the resolution was only 1920 x 1080. Finally, I tried this device which was a powered HDMI switch. I plugged everything in, and presto, it worked! I’ve been using it for over a month and it works great. Some have complained about the remote control buttons; I can’t comment on that since I am using it on my desk and do not need the remote. But the unit has capacitive touch selection on the front panel that works well, and that’s what I use. The only problem I encountered was that once in a while when a computer is asleep and I turn it on, there may not be an output. This is remedied by switching to another input and back to the input in use.

I had been searching for a new HDMI switch box online but could not find one I liked so I decided to stop in at my local Best Buy to see if they had what I was looking for. After a little bit of searching I found the Rocketfish™ - 4-Port 4K HDMI Switch Box, I liked the way it was made, it felt more durable than the one I was replacing. Installation was super easy, simply plug in the various HDMI cables, connect the box to the power source, turn it on and you are set. There is plenty of room on the back for every HDMI cable to plug in with ease. I also love the fact that it comes with it's own remote making it unnecessary to manually change the port on the box if I want to go from my cable box to my blu-ray player to the gaming system. I have been using the Switch Box for a couple of weeks now and have not had any issues with it. I have to say that if I ever found that I needed a second HDMI Switch Box I would absolutely return to Best Buy and purchase another one!

First off, BB description of this really cool tool is lacking. You can use the remote to change input sources or you can press the number on the front and that will work also. I use this on my Win7 PC and Raspberry Pi 3 (R-Pi) with no issues except for one. When I am using my ROBO 3D printer, also purchased from BB, and switch to the R-Pi during a print job. The USB looses connection and the print stops with no way to restart the print job. The monitor video cables on both the R-Pi and the Windows machine are used only to carry a video signal and not audio or USB on my system. When I switch back to the PC the USB reconnects but it's too late by that point for the print job. Kind of an odd issue that might not be encountered by most people, but something to keep in mind if using on computers with USB devices. Over all, I really like this switch box and will probably just remote into the R-PI from Windows during print jobs.

After fiddling around trying to find the right device to add more hdmi ports, I was finally steered in the right direction! This set up so fast and so easily, I couldn't believe it. The instructions are flawless. I was able to free up two ports on the TV and still have an open port on the switcher. I am a very happy camper! Everything works and no quality issues with my 4K ultra HD Sony DVD player or 4K ultra HD Hisence TV. It even recognized and plays an old VCR that I had converted to hdmi. You do have to stand close for the remote to work consistently, but you can also change channels by simply touching the channel numbers on the face of the box. Being able to run the remote from 10 feet away with my back turned and the gentle touch of a butterfly, is not something I expect or even care about! It works....I'm thrilled! If I could rate it a 10, I would! Highly recommend this awesome product!
