Samsung - 40" Class (40" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - Smart - HDTV

We finally jettisoned our analog TV (along with Cable) and purchased this 40" Samsung Smart HDTV after doing some review checking. We are very pleased with this TV. The picture is so clear it is almost 3D looking. The "smart" features are easy to use. We got this "smaller" TV (by today's standards) because we do not spend much time watching television and so we appreciate its ease of operation and the great picture. We especially like being able to access Netflix directly with the TV remote without the use of another device. We were able to purchase this on sale another plus! We use an indoor digital amplified antenna.

All Samsung products purchased have been amazing! I was able to save a lot of money purchasing "Open Box" items on both my 40" & 55" Samsung HDMI Smart TV's. I am extremely satisfied with them as well as the accessories purchased! I was also able to pay for them with my Best Buy Credit Card and have enough time to pay them off with 0% financing for 24 months.

Bought this because it was a "smart TV" and we wanted to replace an older Samsung. This TV was a good price and got good reviews. Much lighter than the older Samsung. Set up was easy and intuitive. I am trying to explore all the features. I really like the smart features and downloaded an app for my IPad that enables me to watch videos, pictures and listen to my music on the TV. I am sure I will appreciate the features as I explore more in the weeks ahead.

The clarity, precision and sharpness of the HD picture quality is phenomenal!!!

The picture and refresh rate is really good on this TV. The sound is surprisingly good, not hollow at all. We did pick up a inexpensive sound bar for movies and music. We use netflix and amazon prime, the apps available work fine. We don't use it to surf the web, but you can. We hookup a laptop to one of the HDMI connections with a wireless mouse.

November 2018, I purchased my TV. And I've been having issues with my remote control. Now Only three buttons work. I'm also getting an alert on my TV to contact Samsung since I'm having problems. :(

I've now bought (6) TV's from Best Buy over the years, both CRT and LCD & varied makes. After my purchase of the Vizio 50" M series in November 2013, which has an incredible picture & lots of connection options. I was less than impressed with a confusing & time consuming set up, lack of a web browser, a poor responsive remote and sensor (having to almost stand directly in front of it to turn on or change any function). The user interface is slow, confusing and seems to drop out the wireless often. I was initially impressed with the price $599 and the functions of 3D (with 8 pair of glasses) and a 240hz system. When I decided to upgrade, I did my homework. Choosing Samsung H series TV's... The den (32' H5500) & bedroom (40" H6350). Because (1) the only set with a true web browser (2) An extremely easy setup, right out of the box with in 10mins... Done. The remote even programed itself to use my cable companies remote functions. (3) The much faster Quad core processor (included with the H series) (4) Intuitive and simple,,, But complete user interface. I would strongly recommend to anyone when considering their next TV purchased to choose a Samsung H series .

This is my first flat screen TV replacing a 32" picture tube TV set, 4x3 aspect ratio. So this was a significant upgrade to see wide screen presentations, 16x9 and HD clarity. The difference is night and day. The TV can also connect to the internet or play content from a media server, like home movies, on your home network. I'm connecting using Ethernet cable. It is a "mostly" smart TV. I connected the TV through my Denon AV receiver, using HDMI, so I can hear great sound along with HD clarity. The TV does have its own sound system and can also be used independent of the AV system. But the sound quality is OK but not great, like most TV's. Adjusting the on board equalizer in the sound settings helped a lot. So why is the TV "mostly" smart? My disappointment was the Clock and PIP, Picture in Picture function. First the clock had to be set manually, not very smart. You would think it would set itself and adjust date, a simple program. It is connected to the internet and yet it can't right now. Perhaps a software update will resolve this issue in the future. Second despite its many inputs PIP seems to only work with it's TV tuner. I'm watching TV using a Satellite box and It has it's own PIP function. But I wanted to connect a camera to watch my pouch. I had to use and old VCR to accomplish this. This setup gave me the option of hearing camera sound on the TV sound system and television sound on the AV system. Very cool. But a software update could make this function even better, remove my aging VCR and save power. I'm also able to use the TV as a second monitor for my desktop computer. Clarity is very good. Very cool. Overall it's a very good TV for the money and I'm pleased with the purchase.
