Worth The $$$ Cord Cutters Perspective
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went through some budget TV’s that had panel defects before getting a flagship Samsung so getting a TV panel with no dirty screen effect, color banding and excessive blooming was crucial. With that said, spending the extra money on a higher-end smart TV was logical and the Samsung QN90A panel does not have any of the previous panel issues I experienced with lesser-known budget brands. All content (even lower OTA 480p) has excellent picture quality with native 4K HDR being outstanding. For someone like me with a bright room environment, watch a lot of antenna network TV shows with logo’s, getting a QLED is a better alternative than OLED with possible burn-in issues latter down the line. This premium TV will fit the bill for most looking for a quality device. Setup: I’m a Totaltech member so Geek Squad delivered and setup the TV for free, which was done in a timely professional manner. You must log in or create a Samsung account to access the smart features. (Samsung’s Tizen OS) Once logged in I noticed I had access to all of my favorite streaming services and the user interface was simply to use. Then I ran a channel scan via antenna, some options I really liked is the TV Guide and having a reminder to watch a certain OTA shows. Picture settings have presets to choose from which I picked Natural under Picture Mode. I also have a Samsung HW-Q600A that had an issue at first getting Q-Symphony to work but steps from this forum: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Qled-and-Frame/Q-Symphony-not-working/m-p/2001888#M17858, got it working. Picture Quality: Upscaling lower quality content was a concern for me as well as motion handing for sports. The Samsung TV does well on both with older shows like Friends and Seinfeld looked good and newer shows like Chicago Med looked fantastic which was as issue with the budget TVs on some shows. Any video source you throw at it has good picture quality with contrast, deep black levels, vibrant colors and minimal blooming. Sports viewing is great also with no motion blur, but I do have to mention that default motion options were set too high for my taste, and I had to lower it to 4 under Expert Settings/Picture Clarity Settings. I included a picture of my SDR settings for antenna, also HDR was too dark under default and I use these setting to brighten: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/qn90a-qled/settings. This TV does not have Dolby Vision but 4K shows converted to HDR10/10++ look phenomenal, really don’t see much of difference when compared to other TVs with Dolby Vision other than the QN90A just having a better picture. The Samsung QN90A is an outstanding smart TV with additional features like Picture in Picture and Multiview I can watch YouTube and Live TV at the same time or separated sporting events with my external streaming device. Speaking of, the only con I have is that the storage is 4 gigs so power users who use al lot of apps may need to get an external streaming device (Shield Pro, Roku Extreme) since it’s pretty easy to fill up 4 gigs

Beautiful TV, some issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is beautiful for sure. I will only write my complaints here. Other than these issues, I’m happy with how great the TV looks and operates. 1. The wide screen filter causes a “rainbow effect” on reflected light sources. I have one light in my dining room and if it is on, I will see a nicely muted main reflection, but then a rainbow false reflection that smears across the entire tv, even after the protective plastic sheet was removed. (see photo attached to this review). It is very distracting. Samsung should remedy this, a lot of people have reported this issue. Google “Samsung rainbow reflection”. 2. The ARC is not playing nicely with my Yamaha receiver. If I switch between different apps on the Samsung, the audio drops. I can remedy the situation by toggling the input source on my receiver to an unused input and back to the TV input. I should not have to do that, for such an expensive TV this is a big disappointment. Samsung should fix this in a later version of firmware, as I am not the only person to have had this issue. 3. The remove could use some backlighting or something to help identify buttons with the lights off. Probably not as big an issue because in time I will remember the buttons anyway. I do love the fact that the remote is solar powered though. Other than those issues, I’m pretty happy. There isn’t too much blooming and hardly any “dirty screen effect”. The picture is beautiful. I had a slight issue trying to get the base screwed into the back, it almost seemed like the base plastic was too big for the hole they wanted it to go into, but eventually it went in. Maybe loosen up the tolerance there, I read other people saying they left the 4th screw out because of this, which isn’t good.

Posted .Hi Connie,
Thank you for purchasing the Samsung QN90A and for your review. I am glad you are enjoying the image quality of your new TV. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the remote design, as well as your feedback on the issues you are experiencing with your TV.
Please know that your TV is engineered with Anti-Reflection Technology designed to minimize ambient light reflections. We understand that light conditions of each room environment are different. For optimal glare control, we recommend repositioning the TV to minimize incident light falling on the screen or consulting a professional installer.
Make sure that your receiver is connected to the eARC dedicated HDMI port on the QN90A. However, eARC can be used only when the A/V receiver supports the eARC feature. Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware (ver. 1506.0 released on 5/20/21) as this will also improve your TV's connectivity. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings > Support > Software Update.
You may want to enable automatic updates for conveniences.
Select Settings- Support- Software Update, then select Auto Update.
I hope these tips help resolve your concerns. Should you need further assistance, please contact our Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM -12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or text HELP to 62913.

One word...Amazing!!!Better than my Oled....
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So after owning flagship tvs for the last decade, this tv is arguably the best all around performing tv ive ever had, amazing blacks just like my c9 but much better shadow detal, better color volume and of course the brightness..i was one of those guys who fell in love with oled when i first got it but after seing how much detail is lost on oled compared to a higher end led i was shocked..if your watching the oled with nothing next to compare it then u probly will never notice what am talking about, even my sony x950h shows more detal in hdr than my oled..All in all am truly impressed with the qn90a as its the best of both worlds for tv technology! What a beauty..Here are some pics,qn90a left side oled right side..ohh and ps5 games look jaw dropping!!!!

Best TV I've Ever Owned
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to get a new television that would fill up the space in our new family room, since our 50in. HDTV looked tiny over our fireplace. I thought that this would be a good time to get something near top of the line, so the flagship Samsung 4k NeoQLED was the choice I made. The picture is the most crisp and clear I've seen, the colors are rich and vibrant, and the 120hz refresh rate makes the picture smooth during heavy action on screen. Game mode works fantastic with next generation consoles (I've hooked up a Xbox Series X), and the quality of life features are all pretty great. The one gripe I have with it is that the anti-glare screen coating tends to make external light sources look like a rainbow effect on dark scenes.

PHENOMINAL FOR MOVIES AND XBOX SERIES X GAMING
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was torn between getting the new OLEDS, but this is in a bright room and I use it a lot for gaming Warzone on the new XBOX SERIES X and so far its truly amazing. I have a 115 inch 4k Epson projector in another room and this TV makes me not want to watch anything in that room. Have never owned a tv and vivid and so far response time and input lag are as good as most monitors ive used.

One of the best!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stepping up from a 2015 Samsung 65 inch curved TV to this LCD panel was a drastic improvement. I did not experience any issues installing or using this incredibly dynamic, vivid and bright LCD TV. I have also not directly compared OLED, but I can’t imagine the darks being that much better, or ink black, over this Neo LCD. We have a very bright living room with floor to ceiling windows and wanted a bright TV. This Samsung Neo truly is exceptional and worth the price of admission.

Respect the Neo
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent TV! This TV's versatility makes it one of the best If not the best of 2021. I would properly rate this 4.8 out 5. Its dark room and bright room performance is outstanding! However, there's a limit of what this technology can do and thats understandable and the same can be said for Oled. Its blooming is very minimal and its DSE is little to none. This TV does need not Dolby Vision. Its Quantum Matrix technology (Neo Vision) performs just as good as DV.

Excellent tv!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 75 inch QN90A is an excellent tv. The blacks may not match OLED, but they are definitely better than my 2016 samsung KS800 which was also an excellent tv. The anti-glare woks very. I only notice reflections in dark scenes. I have not seen any noticable blooming on this tv. I do think it is a bit overpriced but I don't regret spending the money.

Q: QuestionWill there be a firmware upgrade for Dolby Atmos and Vision? It's hard to believe Atmos isn't supported on this new model particularly when HDMI 2.1 and eArc and the new 3.0 ATSC tuner is included. Blows my mind.
Asked by InSearchofAtmos.
- A:Answer Hi InSearchofAtmos - The QN90A TV absolutely supports Atmos pass-through! You can set the TV to allow Dolby Digital+ with Atmos streams that are input from external devices. Set to ON if the audio device connected via HDMI (eARC) supports Dolby Atmos. eARC will allow uncompressed Atmos. As long as your external device supports Atmos, you can pass-through Atmos via eARC without issue. ^Gina
