Broke after 6 months
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. The positive is that it was easy to link this bulb to my hub. The negative is that it physically broke in 6 months. I used it in a partially enclosed fixture in my back yard and one day the glass separated from the metal base. I had to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the base from the socket. I tried to place a warrantee with Samsung but was denied. I didn't try to appeal as it took too much time as it was for a $10 light bulb.

Good, Simple, Value Smart Bulb
|Posted .=== The Review === The SmartThings Smart Bulb, for the price group it's in, is a simple and nice smart bulb. Its brightness level is acceptable and normal (~800 lumen), it's dimmable, and it can be scheduled to turn on or off easily via the easy-to-use SmartThings app. Voice control is possible as well through the Google Assistant/Google Home app and Samsung Bixby AI assistant (for Samsung phone owners). Compared to other smart bulbs that connect via a hub, however, I found one feature to be missing - bulb statistics such as Power Consumption, Online Time, Power Cycles, and Power. This isn't a critically important feature but it would've been nice to include inside the SmartThings app. With that said, the bulb works well and it carried out its essential duties very well including automation commands. The pricing is good value as well. Good stuff. _____ *Pros: -Easy installation and setup. -Also compatible with Google Assistant/Google Home & Samsung Bixby. -Dimmable between 1% to 100%. -$9.99 is great price for a smart LED bulb. -Stable & reliable connection & operation inside my home. -I like the 2700K color. It blends well with my other lighting around the house. _____ *Neutral: -I wish it was a bit brighter, like 1000 lumen. -Can't be placed too far away from the SmartThings hub. _____ *Cons: -Doesn't show detailed bulb statistics.

Smart Bulb, Smart Choice
|Posted .----- Summary ----- Pros: - Dimmable - Scheduled/automated lighting - Controllable via app or voice - Energy Efficient Cons: - None ----- Review ----- Setup: In the box, you will find the SmartThings Smart Bulb and the instruction/safety information. After downloading the SmartThings app, I replaced a standard lightbulb in one of my lamps at home with the Smart Bulb, then I turned the lamp on. The Smart Bulb flashed twice, which is the indication that the bulb is ready to pair. From there, I just used the SmartThings app and its easy on-screen instructions to pair the Smart Bulb. Once complete, the bulb flashed once, and it was ready to go. I cannot imagine the process being any quicker or easier. Design: Although the Smart Bulb is shaped like a standard lightbulb, the bottom half, even beyond the screw, is made out of a metallic material. The top half is plastic, like many other LED bulbs. The light produced by the Smart Bulb is just as good as a standard lightbulb, if not better, and the incorporation of LED in the Smart Bulb makes it more energy efficient than standard bulbs. In addition, the ability to schedule lighting or receive alerts if the lights are accidentally left on can further assist with saving electricity. Features: The Smart Bulb enables a variety of different features that a standard lightbulb cannot provide. For example, the integration with the SmartThings app allows for automation or scheduling. My Smart Bulb is set to turn on automatically at a certain time each day. However, it is also possible to turn on the Smart Bulb when a SmartThings supported motion sensor detects movement. With Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, the Smart Bulb can be controlled with voice, including turning on/off the bulb or dimming/brightening it. I have found that all these features work flawlessly for me. Verdict: Looking to get more out of your lightbulbs? Something seemingly as simple as a lightbulb can provide more than just light. After my positive experience with the Smart Bulb, I plan to replace all my standard bulbs at home to enable even more automation and convenience. I would recommend giving one a try to see what a Smart Bulb can do for you.

Quick and Easy Smart Lightbulb
|Posted .The Samsung SmartThings White A19 LED Bulb was very easy to add to my SmartThings home network. With the downloaded SmartThings app on my iPad, adding the Bulb required a tap on "Add Device" and then a scan of the QR code on the side of the Bulb. The Smart Bulb shows up on the app as a visual card which can be tapped for turning the light on or off. After adding the Smart Bulb I was able to configure the security settings of the Home Monitor to automatically turn on the light when motion is detected in my home office. Aside from requiring some techie configuration of the SmartThings app, the Smart Bulb works great.

Easy to setup and nice warm light output
|Posted .Was very easy to setup up in the SmartThings app (just scan the barcode on the bulb) and follow the onscreen instructions. Once that's done you can control the light easily from the app and then set the dim/brightness. Very nice warm light. You can also control with Google or Alexa and if you use a SmartThings hub you can add it to routines like if a motion sensor triggers or a smart lock opens then it can automatically turn on the light etc.

Lights up in smart way
|Posted .Setting for Samsung SmartThings A19 LED bulb took me less than 3 minutes. Compatible with Alexa and Google to be controlled by voice as well as through Google home app, I'm not a big investor in Bixby. Energy efficient and bright with ability to dim by voice or via smart app on IOS and Android devices. price is kind of comparable to what it is already available in the market. however, it is good quality and works flawlessly so far.

Decent bulb
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I purchased two of these for my basement. I have combined them with smartthings motion sensors to trigger lighting. It's worked really well for my exercise area and I have a smart speaker to control them as well. As other reviews mentioned, the bulbs are a bit more yellow than many other brands. They are much brighter than what I replaced though. I had some 8 year old LEDs down there and this is significantly better. The bulb flickers when first powering up as an indication it's ready to pair with the smartthings hub and I've seen it do it when it turns on as well. This may annoy some people. As far as pairing, they have stickers that you scan with QR codes. You can remove the sticker and place it in the fixture in case you need to rescan it. They're not very big. It was pretty easy to do in the smartthings app and similar to their other products. The bulb is comparable to other smaller bulbs and much smaller than early LEDs with the huge heatsinks. It should fit fine in most fixtures. I was able to get alexa and google assistant to work with them through the smartthings integrations too.

didn’t connect easily
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed.they worked ok but Bluetooth bulbs are not the best because you can only turn it on and off at home, not while you’re away, so I don’t like that but the bulbs themselves work great. I couldn’t get it connected to Google home so could only turn it on and off from the app, so I was the only one in the house that could turn the lights on and all because I had the app. they are fine now but I just bought Wi-Fi bulbs that make things a lot easier, but I did have trouble connecting these.

Q: Questioncan this be controlled by the smart things app alone or is the hub required?
Asked by brian.
- A:Answer No this product requires a hub
Answered by Fred
Q: QuestionCan this be used independently, or must you always use the app? My old one had to be used through an app, and I couldn't turn it on or off manually if I was standing next to it. Thanks
Asked by MoMo.
- A:Answer Great question, MoMo! While you can still control the Smart Bulb manually from a switch, the switch must be in the 'On' position in order to control the Smart Bulb from the App. There is also a SmartThings Button available that can be used like a switch to control the Smart Bulb and/or other compatible smart devices. Please note that the SmartThings Smart Bulb does require the SmartThings Hub. Thank you! ~Samsung Brand Ambassador
