One I enjoy watching over & over through the years
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.-Feature: One that I never get tired of watching for many factors. The storyline, drama, action, 80s synths soundtrack, score, performances, betrayal, emotions, a message & the search for a broken dream. Worth the buy & upgrade! Pros: -Picture; HDR 10 that looked impressive. -Sound; DTS:X was not as heavy as I would’ve liked but there was a handful of immersive scenes during shots & overhead effect when the helicopters hovered over the highway in the opening scenes. An upgrade from the previous 7.1 -Digital Copy; Yes, only 4K HDR but no immersive sound. -Slipcover; No. Cons: -Digital Copy; limited. -Gear used for sound & visuals: LG 65’ C6P 4k/3D passive OLED (manually calibrated) 9.2 Onkyo RZ + pre amp for 7.2.4/11.2 (integrated calibrated then manually tweeted with SPL sound level meter & balance/adjust for full dynamic range) Klipsch P-REF towers center sides rears & dual R112SW subs Polk Audio MC80 8’ quad in-ceiling heights Oppo 4K UDP-203 Monster cables: Premium Black Platinum HDR HDMIs, THX Audio RCA, Digital Subwoofer Cables & Fiber Optic Ultra 1000 Monoprice 14 gauge awg copper speaker wire Nakamichi Speaker Plugs Auralex Acoustic Isolation platforms

Say hello to my 4K friend!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a absolute must have. Looks amazing in 4K, and the best it will ever look. The limited edition is the way to go, you also get the original 1932 version newly restored on Blu-ray. All around a fantastic package!

start a new year with a bang
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect way to start the new year. Also includes 1932 original Scarface. Visually stunning and digitally pristine. Audio surround and effects make this one a great addition to your collection (especially in 5.1 or 7.1.2).

Upgrade From Standard BD
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely a worthy upgrade over the standard blu-ray disc but grain haters may not be satisfied. Yes, picture grain is present and should be expected given this feature was shot 36 years ago on 35 mm film. The UHD transfer is nonetheless beautiful with grain only distracting in isolated scenes (outdoors and panning shots mainly). Fine details (skin textures and clothing) are rendered admirably and justify the upgrade over the standard BD. Tony’s facial scar is of particular note. HDR highlights pop with the neon lights of the Miami nightlife and the over saturated early 80’s color palette we all know and love. The only nitpick is comparing Scarface to the recent UHD release of The Shining. The transfer of The Shining exhibits inevitable film grain; but also displays a slightly cleaner presentation with a more nuanced grain management than Scarface. The DTS X sound mix is lively and active on my 11.2 channel setup. Gunfire and particularly the soundtrack both have serious weight and essence. Dialogue is clear and you won’t be reaching for your remote to adjust the volume based on the scene. All in all Scarface Gold Edition UHD is a strong transfer and a worthy upgrade for all but the most demanding videophiles.

4K Edition worth the additional bucks!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although everyone in America most likely has the DVD and Blu-Ray editions of this all time classic, purchasing the 4K is worth it because the colors are better if you watch them on a better 4K television. And with the 4K, the Blu-Ray, and the digital versions you have every base covered!

Cool set! Great Blu-ray transfer & nice statue!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much to say about the movie itself as it is an undisputed classic! The blu ray transfer is absolutely beautiful. Colors pop. Packed with some nice extra features, especially the cast reunion... but let’s be honest, you want to know about the statue... Well, it’s really nice for what it is. Good size. It’s not metal, hard solid plastic, has more of a matte finish to the dark gold, decent weight, “the world is yours” is indeed painted in red, and it looks amazing on a desk, or a really cool piece to place with your other collectables. Everyone I’ve showed it to so far says “That’s so cool!” Overall, I think you will enjoy this set!
