Q: Can I control the speed on the app? E.g. limit the speed to be below max for younger kids to ride.
A: Yes — the Segway E2 Pro scooter does allow you to control speed through the Segway-Ninebot app. When you connect the scooter to the app, you can: Activate riding modes: The scooter offers multiple preset speed modes (such as Eco, Standard, and Sport). Eco mode keeps the speed lower, which is ideal for younger or less experienced riders. Firmware & safety updates: The app ensures you’re running the latest safety features, including speed limit controls. Parental control option: While the app doesn’t let you set a custom numeric speed cap (like “max 10 mph”), you can restrict the scooter to its lower-speed modes, effectively limiting how fast it can go.
Q: Can you ride this on the hard (wet) sand on a beach?
A: The Segway E2 Pro Electric Scooter is designed primarily for paved surfaces like asphalt, concrete, and smooth paths. It has 10-inch tubeless tires and an IPX4 water resistance rating for the body (IPX6 for the battery), which means it can handle light splashes and wet pavement. However, riding on wet sand at the beach is not recommended: Why Wet Sand Isn’t Ideal Traction & Stability: Sand (especially wet sand) is soft and uneven, which reduces grip and can cause the scooter to sink or slip. Motor & Battery Protection: While the scooter is water-resistant, sand and saltwater can damage the motor, bearings, and electrical components over time. Performance Loss: The scooter’s range and speed are tested on average pavement — riding on sand will significantly reduce efficiency and may strain the motor. Safer Alternatives Use the scooter on boardwalks, paved paths, or compact dirt trails near the beach. Avoid direct exposure to saltwater spray or sand buildup, and clean the scooter after rides near the ocean to prevent corrosion. 👉 If you’re looking for a scooter that can handle off-road or sandy terrain, Segway offers models like the Ninebot MAX G2 or Segway GT series, which are better suited for mixed surfaces.

This is really an incredible scooter. I've never owned an electric scooter before and this is my first one. I'm 38 years old and I bought this solely because I wanted a toy to scoot around the neighborhood. I don't think I'll ever use this to commute to work or to go to the grocery store but dang it. It's a real good time. The swag lights make me the heart throb of all the mommies in the neighborhood. It's got a nice bell to ding at small children as you drive-by. It's a little heavy, but I don't think a lightweight is really what you want with something like this. It feels like it goes very fast. I rarely drive it in sport mode just because I like the vibe of the drive mode. The battery feels like it lasts a ridiculously long amount of time. I play on this thing often, and I feel like my legs get tired from standing before the battery dies. The handlebars feel very beefy, which I think you definitely want. The brake stops it when you want it to. Overall, I think this is a great scooter. It feels like it goes fast and lasts a long time. I would definitely buy this again.

So, I've been testing out the Segway E2 Pro scooter, and I wanted to share my thoughts. Overall, I'm really impressed! It zoomed up hills like a champ, way better than I expected for a scooter its size. The speed is perfect- it's fast enough to be fun for older kids and teens, but also practical for grown-ups like me to get around. It's been super reliable, I haven't had a single problem getting where I need to go. However, there's one big thing to keep in mind: this scooter is *heavy*. Seriously, it's a workout just carrying it around. If you've got a place to easily store it and you're pretty strong, it's not a huge deal. But if you're thinking of lugging it up and down stairs or onto public transport, you might want to think twice. It's definitely worth going to a shop and trying to lift it yourself before you buy it, just to make sure you're comfortable with the weight.

This scooter is fantastic! It really picks up speed in Sport mode, but you can also dial it down if you’d rather take in the scenery during your ride. The lights give it a stylish touch, and the battery life has been impressive for my needs, especially since I use it for commuting from a garage parking. Overall, I haven’t encountered any issues with it at all.
