Q: Questionhow is the bass on the soundbar alone, no sub? does it hold it's own or is best paired with a sub?
Asked by orangatang.
- A:Answer I love bass! Alone it does a good job-- I feel the same way--in order to get it BETTER- I tried several value subs, and {they} made things worse. However, when I put a high end sub -- Velodyne and MartinLogan it worked AWESOME. The bass from the soundbar is quite good, but if you need very deep and low frequencies, shake the room, its a matter of physics, so you will need to get a high end sub, to really push that much deep energy....

Q: QuestionHow does this system perform verses the Nakamichi 9.2.4 system.? I don't want to make the wrong decision. Thank You'
Asked by BUCKEYE.
- A:Answer I had the smaller naki system for a few weeks but was not impressed with it. Had the Bose 700 whole setup for a while. Bose was great except for the popping noise I kept getting from the sub. Then I took the plunge for the sennheiser. This thing is amazing. Blows those two out of the water.

Q: QuestionIs the Ambeo worth it if my TV only has an ARC not eARC? If I can't get the atmos sound through it, why spend $2,500? I have a 4 y/o Samsung smart TV that I don't want to replace yet. PS4 is the only accessory device connected.
Asked by JimPen.
- A:Answer The sound bar (when working) sounds amazing. It’s a close as you’re going to get to a full Dolby Atmos setup. The sound it can push out is detailed and robust. The bar itself is quite large and heavy. It’s not something you can set in front most TVs if it is not mounted on the wall. But for all it’s sound capabilities, it has some major problems. I don’t usually leave reviews on products, but I don’t want anyone else to have to haul this heavy bar back to the store multiple times like I did. I believe it has major flaws with its HDMI chipset. The first bar I had appeared to be opened as it was missing pieces. I took it back to Best Buy and they ordered another one for me. It worked well for a week. Then would not consistently turn on and recognize the devices connected to it. I sent it back. Best Buy convinced to try another bar. So I ordered another. I went through the set up. It worked twice. Then failed to recognize any devices again. I tried anything and everything to trouble shoot. I even brought in a sound engineer expert. We concluded it was a faulty chipset. I tried reaching out to Sennheiser, they gave me a vague answer via email. I finally decided to return it and install an actual Atmos system. The Best Buy manager told me they have seen several of these come back. So my two cents, STAY AWAY. Sennheiser nailed the sound quality, but what good is that when the hard Ware is useless? I think you would be better served looking at other options, or investing in wired speakers. I hope this helps.

Q: QuestionIs the eArc 4k pass through 120Hz?
Asked by Nickvdm.
- A:Answer the eARC is HDMI 2.1 (48 Gb/s for 4k 120 HZ capable) but the issue is the inputs into the AMBEO are HDMI 2.0a. These have a bandwidth of 18 Gb/s that only supports 4k @ 60 so a TV with built in HDMI 2.1 ports would be a better place to connect devices. Newer TV's have begun integrating HDMI 2.1 into their specs that are capable of 4k @ 120 (check specs before purchasing). With newer consoles (PS5/X Box Series X) or PC it would be better to be hooked up directly to TV with 2.1 ports and utilizing the eARC to transfer sound to the AMBEO.

Q: QuestionThe soundbar is prompting to authenticate every time by press the two buttons on the soundbar to connect to the Smart Control App. This is unusual way of connecting with mobile devices. How do I get it connected automatically?
Asked by HTH.
- A:Answer That is odd. I have only had to authenticate once during initial setup. Try unplugging the sound bar for about a minute then plugging it back in and see if it still does it. If so, then run setup on the sound bar again. If it keeps happening get ahold of tech support.

Q: QuestionSo I'm guessing this soundbar will not work if I have my room treated and the room has minimum reflections?
Asked by Krazyd.
- A:Answer This sound is so powerful you will have to turn it down! My wife hates it cause it’s so loud. Shakes house and neighbors can here It. I don’t think unless your a world class acoustic expert, anything would affect or dappen the power of this soundbar . It’s all power! I have it paired with Martin Logan 1100ESX subwoofer . The room is a rectangle with walls of a fireplace / window - wall looking at ocean / just 8’ fall and the last wall about 30 feet away in the kitchen . This soundbar is like all others on steroids. I truly think those measuring paint thickness and adjusting sound and truly capable of hearing a difference are few and far . I have as tv the Sony A9G 77”. Good luck!

Q: QuestionWhat is the letency when sourcing audio from the TV? I'd like to watch Netflix using the TV, but only if this can match the audio with the video. Thanks.
Asked by Nickvdm.
- A:Answer The latest Firmware update for the AMBEO has resolved any initial issues with syncing between audio and video. Can be installed via wireless internet connection and APP or USB via downloads tab on the Sennheiser AMBEO webpage.

Q: QuestionOK; I feel a little silly asking this, but here goes anyway. Do I NOT NEED to have an AV receiver in my mix if I use this soundbar to "channel" all my sources into the TV? Multiple SOUNDBAR inputs, and ARC/eARC going to the TV?
Asked by abqjim.
- A:Answer NO, you don’t need a separate AV receiver. This soundbar has three HDMI inputs & one eARC output. You can connect all input to your TV or to the soundbar. I connected my streaming device, blue ray & gaming system to the soundbar & eARC output to my projector. I hope this helps you answer your question.
