The King of the Monsters returns!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shin Godzilla is a great return of the giant monster we all know and love. While it can be a little boring when the movie sticks to the humans for a while, that's kinda the standard for Godzilla movies. Overall, a good reboot from Toho. Personally, it's more fitting to watch it with English subtitles rather than watching the English Dub. Not that the Dub is bad, of course. It just seems better to watch the original voices, regardless if you have to read subtitles. It's worth the watch, really.

Love this movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw it during the limited U.S. theatrical run and knew that I had to get it. This is different from other Godzilla movies that Toho has produced so it is not for everyone. There is a lot of dialog and deliberation on the part of the Japanese government but I was never bored or disinterested. The original Godzilla (Gojira) was a allegory to the atomic bombings of WWII, and this one is an allegory to the recent nuclear plant meltdowns and how the bureaucracy reacted to the threat.

Best of the Godzilla movies
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently binged a bunch of Godzilla movies. There are a ton over the years - some pretty campy, some ok. But this one is my favorite. The monster is not “friendly” in this one. But not mean either. Just an enormous beast who destroys everything in its path. The design is simply awesome. The English dub is pretty great too - sometimes hilarious (as all dubs are) but actually pretty decent, considering it’s a dub. You have the option of the original foreign language with subtitles, but for a Godzilla movie I have to do the dub so I can take in the amazing art direction.

Can't Wait For The Sequal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In 2014, we saw the new & way better improved American version of Godzilla. Well, here we are with shin Godzilla, the remake of thee original 1954 Godzilla, which will will always be the best ever made. Toho studios absolutely hands don the greatest production company to ever bring the best films on earth. With that said, shin Godzilla. Before I get to the film, I'd like to say that, the music & sounds are from thee original Japan version, some of it that is. But the music is outstanding! The story to this film is very political, & so much different from any other. If you can recognize one of thee actors in this film you know what film & films he's been in the past. Godzilla, he is wicked in this film, if he went up against American Godzilla, shin would destroy him in 60 seconds flat. The look & everything that is within Zilla you will see him unleashed in very mind blowing way. I'm not going to give out much more, so. With all that said, pay really close attention to thee ending & I mean really close, cause it is very very, big question of what's to come next for the Sequal, pause it if you have to to see the details of it.

Interesting Reboot of Godzilla in Japan
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shin Godzilla is not a sequel, it is a reboot of the Japanese movie series. The characters in the movie are encountering the monster for the first time in this film. The movie starts very slow and seems to be a commentary on the older generation in Japan taking a long time to get anything done. The younger generation are the people that actually make progress in the fight against Godzilla. The action does pick up towards the end but this is definitely a slower movie overall. Some of the scenes are CG and don't look so great, but not terrible either. You just notice that the CG is CG and doesn't look real enough (good CG is supposed to be so good you don't even realize it is CG). Worth a watch if you are a fan of the long running movie series.
