A: Yes. For 4 hours.

A: Locks off. The locks are to carry without it spilling. As for as keeping warm, I left the locks off.
Q: Can you saute with this cooker?
A: Not really. Takes too long
Q: Does this Bella slow cooker get real hot on the outside?
A: It does get medium hot. I have several through the years. I have had some crock pots get super hot.
Q: is the stoneware insert safe to cook in on stove top ?
A: No! It cannot be used in microwave or stove. It is an electric small appliance. You would not put your toaster with a electric plugin in the microwave?
