Q: How do you control the volume?
A: The Controller has 3 buttons, effectively. +, - and the middle one. + & - control the volume. The middle button is the one that has the features you describe above. Also, triple clicking, at least with an iPhone, restarts the current song, in addition to the functions you noted above.
