Q: QuestionAre these wireless or do they have to be wired?(3 answers)
A: AnswerThese are passive speakers that must be wired into a amplifier to play music. They are specifically designed to take advantage of the Sonos Amp but will work with other amplifiers as well.Answered by Sonos Customer Care
Q: QuestionWhat are the differences between sonos vs sonance Mag speakers?(1 answer)
A: AnswerSonos by Sonance speakers were designed in collaboration with Sonance. The Sonos by Sonance have a detection circuit that makes a custom dsp for each version of the speaker so you can get the most out of the speakers when plugged into our amp. They in-wall and in-ceiling speakers can also be trueplay tuned which is our proprietary tuning technology that tunes the speakers to the environment of your room using an IOS device.Answered by Sonos Customer Care
- A: AnswerHello! These outdoor speakers are designed to work best with our amplifier called Sonos AMP. If you power them with our AMP, these outdoor speakers can be grouped, controlled with the Sonos app, ext together.

- A: AnswerThese are passive outdoor speakers that require an amplifier to play any content. They are designed to work with the Sonos Amp which can detect that these speakers are connected (in the settings press Detect Architectural Speakers) and have unique sound settings to make them sound incredible outdoors. If you do not want to run speaker wires from an Amp for outdoor speakers like these, check out the Sonos Move which is weather resistant and designed to let you take your Sonos experience outside of your home from your back yard to a camping trip or day at the beach!

- A: AnswerWhen installing Sonos architectural speakers in your backyard patio, here are some general guidelines for optimal placement: Distance Between Speakers: Ideal Spacing: For stereo sound and balanced coverage, the distance between two Sonos architectural speakers should typically be between 6 to 10 feet (1.8 to 3 meters). This spacing helps create a more immersive and evenly distributed sound experience. Height: Recommended Height for In-Ceiling Speakers: The speakers should be installed about 7 to 10 feet (2.1 to 3 meters) above the listening area. This height allows for optimal sound dispersion and avoids direct overhead sound, which can be less pleasant. Recommended Height for In-Wall or outdoor Speakers: Position these speakers about 3 to 4 feet (0.9 to 1.2 meters) above the floor. This height is typical for listening at a seated position and helps ensure sound is directed towards the listening area. Additional Tips: Avoiding Obstacles: Ensure there are no obstructions (like large furniture or overhangs) directly blocking the sound path between the speakers and the listening area. Angle and Orientation: If possible, angle the speakers slightly towards the main listening area to focus the sound where it’s needed most. These recommendations can vary based on specific speaker models and the layout of your patio. For the best results, you might also consult the installation guide provided by Sonos or seek advice from a professional installer.

- A: AnswerThe speakers are passive. They do not need power, they only need the audio source from your amp. Power --- AC power ---> Amp --- audio signal ---> Speaker

- A: AnswerThank you for your question. A single Sonos Amp only controls one stream and volume level, no matter if you connect a single or multiple pairs to it. In order to have independent control you would have to use a separate Amp for each zone.

Wonderful outdoor addition to Sonos system.
Just like all of the other Sonos products, these are awesome! We replaced 2 unmatched sets that were 18 years old and are extremely pleased with the results. We are running 2 sets on a Sonos Amp and after the proper setup, they sound amazing. Installation is also very simple.
