Great lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony 10-18mm lens is sharp, compact and lightweight. This is a must have lens for landscape, architectural, and environmental portrait photography. I have attached two images, both taken with the Sony A6000 and the Sony 10-18mm lens. I'm very pleased with the results.

Great lens for interior real estate photos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens has opened up my view by 30º compared to my other Sony wide angle lens. Yes, it cost hundreds more, but is well worth it. The clarity and light allowed is fantastic.

Super Sharp
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this lens. Super sharp and very wide. Big plus is being able to use this lens on my full frame A7II even though it’s not an E not an EF lens. A very fun lens to use in the city.

Just buy it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought about buying this lens for so long before I finally did it. Yes, it’s much more expensive than other lenses but so worth it. I love having OSS, and as someone who mostly takes pictures of landscapes, I can finally get everything in the picture I need to. The video is so crisp and the wide angle has completely changed my video quality :)

Amazing lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quality Sony lens used for urban exploration on my A7SII has allowed me to capture hundreds of shots unobtainable from a different lens. A hint I did not find while researching - when capturing video with this lens, keep at 16mm focal length, any other length will capture a 'vignette' look of the outside lens casing.

Q: QuestionOn my a6300, close-up pix of flower blossoms are sharp and precise, but I need a wider angle lens to get the full bloom in the shot. Would this 10-18 wide angle zoom be better, or the 16mm f2.8 wide-angle be better? Thanks
Asked by greymouser.
- A:Answer Bear in mind the 16mm wide angle will be 1.5X 16 = 24MM....not really all that wide on a crop sensor camera. I bought a Sigma ART 16MM F1.4 lens (a FABULOUS lens) but disappointed that it was just not really all that wide. So, I bought the 10-18mm last month, and, problem solved. People will look distorted at 10MM but 10mm is great for landscape. You also will get great perspectives at 12 to 16mm on this lens, so, it's far more purposeful than buying a straight 16mm prime. I suggest you try the 10-18....what a great lens for the A6000 series. I just bought a 30mm Sony macro from BestBuy and that thing has a focus distance of 3.8 inches. So, for walking around, it's super easy to carry the 10-18 and the 30mm in my pocket.

Q: QuestionOn Sony A6000 would a prime Wide Angle lens be better to use than the Sony 10-18mm F4 Zoom and why?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It depends on your needs. Clearly, prime lenses generally are better lenses; less distortion, finer resolution. The advantage of the 10-18 is that it nicely fills the lower gap of the 16-50 or 16-70. Since focal length is a logarithmic function, 10-18 is about the same range as covered by 16-50 so they go together nicely. I had compared the output of the zoom to the prime wa lenses in prints and can't tell the difference. Maybe if you're making 24x32 enlargements it would showup. I am more concerned with the convenience of carrying fewer lenses and have stuck with zooms.
